The Kony Ealy Gambit

LOL at the logic that thinks that a player, CJ included, will just give back 8-9 mill out of the goodness of his heart.

Sometimes when you jump to conlussions, you miss the mark. CJ is set to make what? 17mil next year. We extend him 3 years and lower his cap hit for next year.

Easy peasy.

It would be fuging retarded. Luke worked out, but hell as we can see Jon Beason would have been more than serviceable.

If you look at most teams when they get a new GM they tend to do what this forum, and what a lot of our fanbase is doing. They blame the old GM for all the troubles in the past, ignoring any success that came from their decisions (12-4, Cam, Luke). I love the reading these comments on Dave Gettleman. Usually after two years it wears down, and back to pictchforks. Go check out a few forums of other NFL teams with new GMs. It's almost the same speak, in Blahblah we trust, Blahblah has a plan.

I tried the Kony Ealy Gambit (limiting myself to as close to BPA as I could) on the Fanspeak Mock Draft Simulator and came up with this:

1st - Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri

2nd - Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt

3rd - Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas

4th - E.J. Gaines, CB, Missouri

5th - Michael Schofield, OT, Michigan

6th - Cody Latimer, WR, Indiana

7th - Isiah Crowell, RB, Alabama State

There were no WRs, Ts, CBs, Ss, RBs in the 3rd? which big board did you use?

Walter.

And I restricted myself to choosing among the top 5 players available, i.e. BPA.

So, no, at the point I was choosing in the 3rd, none of the positions you mention above were available except for (if memory serves) RB.  And I chose to add to the OL rather than another RB.

draft for another team and check out the results for the panthers. for fun i drafted for the 49ers.......never mind it was not fun. ive drafted too many times, ive found fanspeak to be the best by far.

I used Fanspeak and I drafted for the Falcons and when I was finished I looked at the Panthers draft.

1st - Calvin Pryor, Louisville, S

2nd - Ja'wuan James, OT, Tennessee

3rd - Cody Latimer, WR, Indiana

4th - Philip Gaines, CB, Rice

5th - Michael Campanaro, WR, Wake Forest

6th - Brandon Linder, OG, Miami

7th - Dezmen Southward, S, Wisconsin

Not bad really.

yep, not bad at all. i was surprised at how well the draft bot/computer works for the each team(use fanspeak ranks). i even did a panther draft using 49er picks....... filled ALL the needs and wants plus extra. fun time killer.
