Rivera says Cam wasn't consulted in WR moves

Brady was surprised and disappointed that the Pats let Welker go. He then proceeded to put on his big boy pants and lead his team to the playoffs....again..just like Cam will.

I swear some of you think that an NFL franchise is more like a soap opera or sorority than a business.

Let's not pretend that gutting all of Cam's active wide receivers is somehow equivalent to Brady losing Welker.

Also, look at this seasons acquisitions made by the Patriots and then seriously compare Brady and Cam again.

Disagree, he a player, not a personnel guy. The GM is the guy ruining the show.

I have no problem with this. Cam has enough in his plate with going to school, having surgery and preparing for next season.

I was about to say "i strongly disagree" but finally i strongly agree with you.

I see one major reason, Gettleman take full responsability for any decision so Cam can't be blamed, and the harmony of the team is preserved.

Cam's smart enough to understand this is a business and that he's a player.  He may get asked his opinion on WRs sometimes, but he's not going to be the reason we make business decisions relating to the WRs.. and really, he shouldn't.

Players have a lot more comradarie between each other than they do with the FO... and that's *good*.  The players can't be unbias.  We can hope that Gettleman can be a little more objective than they are.

We had a team where the front office ran operations as if they were buddies with everyone on the team, and we ended up with a bunch of awful contracts to mediocre veterans.  fug that. Gman could have handled the Smitty departure WAY better, but consulting Cam wouldn't have been the way to do that.

Negative. Can't let the inmates run the asylum. Wee can keep Cam here for another 3-4 years if we need to. Cam also knows this is a business.

Cam, and his agent know it's a business as well. If they don't start at least showing some respect to arguably the most talented player this franchise has ever had then they'll certainly be paying for it later.

We're what, 2-3 weeks into the league year?

The crisis mode schtick is getting old already. FA is still ongoing, the Draft is still 40 days away, there will be more cuts from other teams.

Let's back away from the ledge and see what happens.

He lost his top 3 targets.....Gronk(injury), Welker, Hernandez(jail)

Still went well for them.

    • I would write “give remmers tight end help” on a yellow sticky note and stuck it in shulas playbook the night before superbowl 50.
    • And don’t worry about Bryce he will be great… Peyton Manning had a horrible rookie year too 😂
    • Nothing wrong with it at all until you start telling others they are bad fans or not fans. But you are the good fan because you never say negative stuff about the team.    I did many years of that type of uninformed fanning because there really was no info and coverage like there is with the internet.    I mean, I used to go to the store and get Street and Smith’s annual football issue. That was about the extent of what you could get if you didn’t live in a big city with sportswriters covering and reporting.  There was no video to look at or replay the games and if you didn’t live in the market you could only rarely see your football team play.    TI have fanned since being a kid in the early 1960s, and as late as 1995 - ‘97 I lived in Atlanta and good luck getting more than 3 or 4 games a year on TV. No radio either. No print coverage outside of an AP recap and box unless they played Atlanta.  People today that have always had the network connection don’t know.    I wasn’t very educated about the Panthers until I finally got internet.
