Only if we get or have someone who can work the middle, make difficult catches, and be consistent. Jackson is not that.

 

I just don't think it is wise to put all our eggs in the Jackson basket...IMO, he is not a true number one.

 

I agree, but there's still the draft to add that type of receiver.  Jackson would be a great addition.

Going to go ahead and take back what I said. He hasn't gotten into any trouble, and all the gang talk was just hearsay. I jumped the gun, and shouldn't have judged the dude.  I know theres no shot of getting him, but I would love for him to be a Panther.

Just to play devil's advocate here, Snoop Dogg is a known Crip member.  He has had his picture taken (and much more) with countless NFL players.

Well ... since the huddle is saying no, it probably has a better than 50% chance of happening.

 

I don't read too much into the timing of his release and gang activity.  Speculation and media fodder.  A lot of quality players are released well ahead of the draft.  It probably had more to do with his contract and nobody wanting to be on the hook for that much $$$$. 

 

That said, I've read other places that he has connections to Cam.  Unlike Nicks, he is a true #1 and would probably like to be paired with Cam on a team with our defense.  Short of a stud LT coming available, this makes sense if we are going to spend money.  The deal can be structured so it doesn't cripple us in the first couple years.  Add a stud OL and another WR in rds. 1-3 ... and we're getting back on track.

i think you are soft if you join a gang, but i defiantly see the brotherhood behind it.plus, he is a Cali boy, so i bet a lot of guys coming from that area has some sort of gang affiliation with guys that bang.

I've grown up in the Bay Area, and I have so many friends in prison with gang affiliations it's sickening. I have several friends in San Quentin for various felonies, several close friends in Tehachapi, Corcoran, Deuel Tracy, and Susanville. My little brother is in San Quentin right now and is a validated gang member. My wife's younger brother was stabbed to death because he was a dropout, left to die on a sidewalk.

I hung out with these guys my entire childhood and would have died for any one of them at some point, but they've made their choices and I've made mine and now I'm happy doing the 9-5 wife and kids and picket fence thing. This might have little to do with Desean Jackson I'm just saying having ties to gang members doesn't necessarily make you a piece of sh!t.
