The long term solution at RB

You do realize that Barner is bigger than Dunn?  He actually has good mass for his height.  5'9" 196lbs.

He doesn't play bigger. I don't know whether it's balance or what, but those few extra lbs. haven't benefited him yet. I'm a Barner fan but Dunn proved he was a legit NFL RB, and so far our guy has only shown that he's easy to knock down.

I really hope Barner does well this year. He's probably not going to be an every down back but it would be really nice to have him catch passes out of the backfield or in the slot to give our offense an added dimension. Most importantly I hope he steps up as a return man.

I don't think Barner will ever be an up the gut, power runner, which is why I think he's best suited for a rotation.  But he is extremely shifty and does a good job of finding the crease and squirting through.  Dunn was a real exception, a smaller guy that could do both, and I'm not expecting that from Barner, but then, I never saw him as that type of back.

I view him as the same type of back as Sproles.  He can hit a home run if you give him a hole, and can often squeeze through for a couple of yards, but his real bread and butter will be as a receiver coming out of the backfield.  He's a very good receiver, and will give LB's fits in coverage...particularly on screens.

You see all these vet RBs that were on the street waiting for a job? Yea. It's pretty easy to find a RB today.

I wanna hang myself looking at our 100mil backfield compared to what Ben Tate, Moreno, MJD, McFadden all got.

I curse Hurney every time I think of his screwing us by placing us in cap hell with those two huge RB deals.
