  1. The pro bowl should be brought back, it should be in Honolulu with proper marketing and eyes on it, it should be the nfl subsidizing a week long vacation for guys with their families-with that the one big change to make is to get rid of the fan voting. Have each send a collection of five or six guys they deemed their best and if the rosters get a little wonky personnel-wise, that’s okay. That’s part of the fun. short of that, the only other thing I could recommend is having a similar set-up-no fan voting, teams selecting their best players, and sending them to compete against the chosen players from 31 other teams in real Olympic level sporting completions to see who comes out on top. seeing the panthers delegates beat the disgusting saints delegates up for the Gold in the rowing competition or the 4x100 relay would actually feed into the competitive nature of fans and give them something to root for. you could even have under armour sell the logo cladded up team gear that the pros wear in these games for money, this stuff basically writes itself if the nfl wasn’t trying to use this event help sell the idea that no defense and lots of passing is a GOOD THING and you LOVE THIS and THE GAMES SHOULD BE MORE LIKE THIS.
  2. a small niche of people repeatedly saying this is why the nfl thought they could get away with the transition nobody cares about watching guys throw balls in buckets in NFLPA OFFICIALLY LICENSED MATERIAL it’s not the nba-it’s not a player driven sport. the whole reason the pro bowl worked is because fans got to see guys clad in their team’s helmets representing their team among the best in the league while hoping that they stood out at that echelon. You wanted to see a Panther do well when everyone else was hoping for the same. go back to that, go back to an actual game, or just abolish the entire thing. Nobody wants to see an event where primadonnas build their brand a little more, people who like that kind of thing have a sports league of their own they can go enjoy.
  3. Person said on the radio he feels like there’s a good chance of this from discussions he’s had. As I mentioned in other thread, after the platoon model went so poorly this past season I imagine they will have their guys and go get them this offseason.
  4. I don’t think they’ll make the two first round pick plus mega deal super swap that people think of when you say “all in” but I absolutely think they’ll reconsider the platoon strategy when it comes to signing free agents this offseason shouldve just given Milton Williams a little extra
  5. seems most likely that they sign a veteran stop gap for a season
  6. he’s not the first, the previous just weren’t allowed to come back
  7. if you expect to resign him then I don’t think you let it. it creates a setback in your build that you would really rather not have. I mean I’m open to the idea of upgrading LT outright if it’s possible but if you just accept what Ekwonu is and believe Moton has some good football left, and it’s pretty fair to believe this given that OTs seem to be having longer careers, then I think you just keep moving. If an elite LT falls in your lap go for it but otherwise..
  8. I mean you may just need to let Njiman do what backups do and fill in for next season, or for the games Ekwonu misses. he wasn’t bad stepping in this season and there’s a lot of other different directions this team would really like to go as part of our build. Kinda just depends on whether or not you expect to get Ekwonu back at all. If he’s coming back, if you like him and anticipate resigning him, you may just have to ride it out.
  9. Itll be something to watch. Timeline for nfl players is typically going to be on the faster end given the availability of care, but it will depend on the severity as well. Still, it was time to start thinking about another OT addition anyways.
  10. this team needs some spread elements. It’s what the QB is most comfortable with and the personnel around him are suited for more old school power run play action shots. get a spread back, get a true Y piece, get a fast yac merchant so we can actually split the 2 high and actually incorporate some wr screens in for easy yardage
  11. Teams figured out the formula going into the last quarter of the season. over the past five games, I’d imagine we lead the league in 10+ play massive sustained drives which bled quarters his argument would be “if we could get some good pass rushers, some rangy linebackers, upgrade at safety and get a third guy at CB, my defense will work.” it’s the ole Shula defense Good coaches do more with less.
  12. nothing surprises me anymore the same league that gave us two games against home openers to start the season, an important division game on the road to end the regular season, an awful bye, all in a year where we play more road games than home games.
  13. the league apparently confided this to the team in secret and was hoping it wouldn’t get out ”sorry we messed up your season-don’t tell anyone though”
