I’m not sure people understand how fuging bad it is

The problem with replacing Bryce Young is we have to have a QB to replace him with. Dalton isn’t that guy. We have no other young QB on the roster we have been grooming to be a possibility. so the only options we have are free agency, draft or trade. So we are stuck with Bryce until the end of the year. Problem is we still aren’t guaranteed to find a replacement. The draft is a crapshoot and I don’t see any free agent QBs that look to be much of an upgrade. we could trade for someone’s back up but I don’t think a lot of teams would want to give up their back up. Then there’s the cost, would you want to give up a 2nd-3rd round pick for a back up QB? Honestly I see us getting some other teams scraps and trying to make something out of it. Yes it’s worked before, for example Jake Delhomme, then we seen currently with Baker and Darnold. Geno Smith is a player I think could be an option. He will have one year left on his contract after this season which should be easy to get out of or for raiders to release him. Hes worked with Canales and knows his offense. Hes an upgrade over Dalton for sure and Bryce but he’s also capable of a lot of turnovers. The raiders offensive line is horrible right now so I feel like he isn’t nearly as bad as his stats show. At the end of the day he’s just a band aid to a bigger problem we need to fix. -
I mean you look at the guy Tepper wanted, Ben Johnson, and it's clear he's probably a better HC. That said, he's not working with a cardboard cut out at QB. The Bears are more talented than we are (a large part of that is thanks to Fitterer). It's going to take time. I'm happy to take my lumps with Canales while we rebuild a roster and regain some goddamn pride. He's not a bad HC.

Oh he absolutely checked out at that point. I don't know what the agreement was either - I assume he thought nobody would be moronic enough to draft Young #1 overall. -

Exactly. Footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork. Stop throwing from your tip toes, Bryce, and you'll notice a world of difference with the velocity of your throws. -
I have been really easy on Canales. Refused to criticize anything in his first year. Knowing he wasn’t ready. Been very soft on him this year, knowing he still isn’t ready. Knowing how huge the job he is trying to do is even for an experienced guy. A lot to learn all at once. Play caller, one year as OC and here he is in the fire… and then on top of everything else he is saddled with Young. But he has done some very counter productive stuff. At this point he is only staying because I highly value continuity. We have some young players who are coming along and some things about the team are coming along. I am not really a pro Canales guy so much as a pragmatist at this point. Could go either way and would not care if he is gone as long as Bryce is gone too.

Never wanted, just knew when the trade happen there was no way they traded that for a lil guy with bad foot work and weaker arm. Really think they could have stayed at 9 and got him. Was just hoping I was wrong but 3yrs later all hope is gone. Even on the pick in the end zone(MNF) I think he was doing a jumping pass but to his credit his drop back has improved from the slow walk back from his rookie yr so there is that.

There's no way a guy with an eye for talent like Morgan's - picking up multiple contributors as UDFAs - that has completely revamped the rest of the roster looks at Young and thinks "Yeah that's what a QB looks like". He's paying lip service to Young, as is Canales, as that was the agreement they had with Tepper when they both took their respective jobs. They've both taken a quantum leap in their careers because they were one of the few willing to work with Tepper. -
This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)

I agree I think Dave is here to stay but if we don't make the playoffs Bryce is probably gone -

Yep. I still want to know whether we gave him the impression he'd have more say over the QB pick or if he simply thought he'd be more persuasive in his ability to sway the pick but as soon as it became obvious we were keying in on Bryce it just seemed like he checked out. I'll never be convinced that Reich was onboard with that pick and I think that's the reason why we were so quick to fire him. -

You could see the light go out behind Reich's eyes when we made that Draft pick. -
Lock in the Rams at -10 with every dollar you can spare

I stand corrected. Not a trust funder as your need to flaunt it as often as possible is clearly new money behavior. -
Zack Wilson is on a team right? A washed Willson got a gig with NY this year? Hell Dalton was resigned here on a 2 year deal after looking completely washed 2 years in a row on this very team. If this crew is dumb enough to still be on the Young train I truely belive someone else would sign him while making the same old excuses. Bad organization, bad coaching, I can being out the amazing talent that no one else could...blah blah blah. I hope they do. It will be a lot more fun to laugh at it when it's not longer us.

So that means Horn will be out this weekend, and seems like a good chance that Moehrig will get suspended for the game too. We could be going up against the current front runner for MVP at QB with two of the best WRs in the league, while we're down 2 starting DB's. Oh boy, this is gonna be a beat down

You have pretty high standards for a fan of a franchise that hasn't had a winning record in nearly a decade. Dude is winning with a team in full rebuild mode with a traffic cone at QB.

High draft picks always get floated by that draft position and get more opportunities than they've earned on the field. Hell, even JaMarcus Russell got numerous tryout attempts around the league even after blowing up to offensive lineman proportions. If we let Bryce go he'll absolutely be quickly re-signed to a prove it deal elsewhere where he will suck again.
