I'll give him credit for finally letting his GM actually make football decisions.

Just win. It's gonna be hard as long as we remain steadfastly committed to Bryce. Signing another noodle armed QB and seemingly zeroing in on another noodle armed late rounder is not encouraging. I don't know why we seem obsessed with QBs who lack an NFL arm. The only way I can make it make sense is we don't want someone in camp making Bryce's arm look bad in comparison. I just don't get it. When Jake was our starter if you didn't know any better and just went to watch a camp practice you would've tabbed Wienke as our starter ten times out of ten. He was the one who looked the part and was slinging frozen rope tight spirals all over the field but come game day Jake was that dude. Dude's are gonna dude. Stop being afraid to hurt Bryce's fee fees.

Can any of the top guard prospects also play center? Because the pure centers in this class aren't exactly screaming day one starter to me.
-
I think there is a plan for both tackle and center in the draft. But it's not the folks you guys are thinking about.

What we need are two decent (at minimum) fallback options at LT and center. That could mean we bring back Brady Christensen (which we should anyway for depth purposes) and possibly Austin Corbett. I feel like OT is now the clear favorite to be our 1st round pick, so we should get a starter there but I don't love our chances of landing a day one starting center in this class. Jenkins from Green Bay is available but he's had injury issues and would probably be quite a bit more expensive than Corbett, who has also had injury issues but at least should come relatively cheap.

I'd honestly plan for Ekwonu to be a LG moving forward. Try to find his replacement asap.

I still think Carolina is a big nope in the coaching circles, but recruiting quality players to come here is definitely looking up after the growth made last season. To this I give props to the front office. Last offseason including the draft was a tremendous success. In just 2 pieces: Imagine the 2025 season without Tet or Rico.

BREAKING: Panthers sign QB Kenny Pickett
Cavscout replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Pickett is an ok signing but... we could have had Trubisky -
Yep and going back to college he had 8 sacks his last year to boot. He has a good skillet if played properly!!

LB Jacob Rodriguez Wants to Come to Carolina
Jon Snow replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
I believe in time he will prove that he is/was worth a 1st round pick. But im happy that he may be there for our 2nd pick. I think we may have to trade up for him. -
Tackle is going to be a priority unless they can sign someone like Taylor Decker
-
He can finally come out of hiding because the team isn’t an embarrassment to the Carolinas anymore
-
They are building a very solid team. No more cakewalks when playing the Panthers.

LB Jacob Rodriguez Wants to Come to Carolina
hepcat replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
For good reason, he’s going to be a good player. But he’s not worth a first round pick with how deep the linebacker draft is this year -
Sure but I would prioritize OT.
-
We need to try and sign Decker, if its affordable. Then we can target Sadiq in the 1st, LB or DL in 2nd, then start looking for our Center.

RUMOR: Panthers interested in bringing back Brady Christensen
hepcat replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good player when healthy and his versatility is huge. But with his injuries it’s worth investigating if they can upgrade the swing backup spot -
LB Jacob Rodriguez Wants to Come to Carolina

A legit contributor. We've always been known for stud LB's, does he fit the bill? -
There's still more signings to be had. Come draft, Monroe Freeling T is my favorite pick on offense in R1 for us. Lomu T could be good as well. If we go some one like CJ Allen or McNeil-Warren, then a R2 target like Max Iheanachor T and Caleb Tiernan T would be nice. Center is important but you can get a starter in R3, we don't need to reach there. Lew looks good. Also think we will still do something, need vet insurance even if we're going to draft one.
