  1. Past hour
  2. Both can be true We can be poop, and a lot of the NFL can be in a similar boat!
  3. Yeah Im kind of in the boat of a full house cleaning. I feel like we have been trapped in this off cycle replacement of GMs/HCs ever since we kept Hurney around after firing Ron. I worry though who would come here, especially from the HC angle if Canales only gets two years, and not with his own QB. I think Im in the camp of fire both this year, or give one more year with their choice of QB and see if its any different. I do wonder if Canales regrets declaring BY "our guy" last year when he was on his "good" run. He may have tied himself to the hip with that one.
  4. We’re so focused on crapping on the Panthers. We don’t open our eyes and realize there’s a lot of bad football being played all around the league.
  5. Only way he can affect starting field position is if our abysmal offense actually scores haha
  6. He hit a 57 harder easy in the game before this one. He doesnt have a weak leg, not sure what happened on the one in pats game.
  7. These might be the two softest coaches in the league. Their teams show it. It's going to be like a pillow fight.
  8. Plus you get to kickoff more when you actually score. This play gets more value the more times you can score, because then you're pinning the other team deep more often. Our guy just gets to do this at halftime lol
  9. Oh for sure. We could have the greatest lab built kicker in the history of football and we'd still be getting our ass kicked. LOL
  10. Its just funny because its on our team. The field position makes no difference. We can't move the ball and we struggle to stop anyone. 9 times out of 10 that field position is instantly erased by how bad we are at actual football. It's a neat trick to game the kick offs, but its funny its literally the only thing we can do.
  11. I wouldn't necessarily go that far. I mean, if you can significantly impact the other team's starting field position on kickoffs that should show up in the results in the long term but it's definitely gonna show up in the margins. Putting the ball through the uprights or not is going to be the much louder signal in the data. Neither is gonna matter when you're going out there and just getting straight wood shedded. LOL
  12. Dude. Stop bringing up Wilks like he is the answer. If he were he would be a head coach somewhere right now. Also this team is not that team. Completely different players with different personalities. I agree they need someone who will hold them more accountable. But Tepper will have to settle for whoever will take the job. So here we are.
  13. This schedule to start the season has been pretty light and we still screwed it up
  14. I don't understand how we aren't dead last in the NFL in all offensive categories. I guess the garbage time against Arizona
  15. NFL kicker wins 0 additional games with this 1 neat trick.
  16. Not to mention the fact he made a 57 yard field goal the week before. I swear the whole team just didn't want to work sunday
  17. Every kicker has a brain fart now and then. It happens. Now if it carries over to the next game then things will get serious real quick.
  18. No, not buy our way out. Hire a HC that can whip these players into shape and give them something to play for. Have you forgotten how the team played under Wilkes?
  19. I’m still trying to figure out… bc when we signed him and I read he made a 59 yarder, I thought for sure he had a solid leg. But that attempt against the Pats and that 50-some-yarder in the preseason that barely died over the cross bar, I just don’t know. I’ve never known a kicker to take something off their kicks to compensate for more accuracy on long attempts. I’ve also never heard of kickers who up the arc/trajectory on long kicks. They typically drive the ball with a lower trajectory, which equals more power and velocity. So I’m not understanding how you kick a 59 yarder and then struggle with the distance of 54? unless the wind was really at his back, idk what to make of it?
  20. They drafted incredibly well for two years prior to their jumping off. it starts and ends there. We have to start hitting on rounds 1-4
  21. So the solution is to do what? Buy our way out? If it was that easy every team would be a juggernaut. The culture is established by management and the players. If management is bad they draft bad players and that's your culture. Its is deeply rooted in this organization and has been for a very long time.
  22. Tepper has had a few retired NFL minds help him on the side in a silent-consultant type basis. That has likely given him the assurance he could figure it out but it hasn’t worked. …so now, as some have been mentioning, it’s time to find a true President of Football Operations who is his liaison and he just goes full hands-off. Doesn’t even need to pretend he’s Mr. Charlotte either. Just sit back, throw the cash, get out of the light (which I’d say he’s done to a certain effect) Many have been screaming for this since the first reset before we hired Rhule. If you can find that guy, that’s the starting point. Have them map out the blueprint for finding a GM who dictates the vision, and then those two find their HC. BUT If we don’t hit that full reset, and get a PFO, we need to get lucky and find a generational player or coach that changes everything. There’s nothing any player on our roster can do to transform the team. McMillan, Horn, DB and Chuba are a start, but may be on their way out by the time we correct it. I can give Canales a bit of grace these next 5-6 weeks but then pressure is on if it’s looking bad. Bryce, I’m mostly done with him. A few main Personnel objectives should be: -Accrue high draft capital (figure out how to gain picks to create multiple 1sts and 2nds) -ID a blue chip DE and LB. -Roadmap a QB scenario with both a vet and rookie. I’d take anything at this point, Stidham and Mateer IDFK
  23. Last refuge of someone who’s wrong on the internet. “Just wait until he leaves and gets better and THEN I’ll be right.” then they just kinda slink away and never bring it up again. and as someone who’s almost never wrong about the panthers, that’s the most frustrating part. Someone who had been demonstrably wrong and irritating for years will simply vanish and rereg a month later and find something else to hang their online persona on. There’s no resolution, there’s no catharsis barely even get satisfaction anymore. Oh well, posting for the love of the game I suppose.
  24. I agree. Until the Pats game he was money. The entire special teams group decided to sit the pat's game out.
