I saw the signs late 2022 even when he wasn’t tearing it up. He was close. All that upheaval and regression we have suffered was unnecessary.

Their current QB situation means they may not even make it to the playoffs, so... And he definitely has been. But he's at least young enough I'll give him some time

we really could have just kept Darnold and actually built a line around him and gave him some playmakers. People forget how good he was playing here until CMC got hurt

I was the Mike in my legendary HS football career so have the bias from that. Joking about the legendary I appreciated all those guys. Luke was the ultimate example to me of MLB as QB. Not the only one ever but we got to see it every week with him and he was so good at it. I have listened to the radio broadcast the last couple of weeks and he is great as an analyst. Knows how to dissect the offensive plays and what they did or tried to do. Sees it, knows it. He instantly sees it. I was unaware but really was impressed with him there.

I think at a minimum the Panthers have a very broad definition of high ankle sprain that is beyond the classic NFL high ankle sprain of the past.

I wonder how many of Bryce's deep balls, let's say those 30 air yards or more, come from inside the pocket vs when he's scrambling. That would probably tell a whole lot about game planning. My hunch is most are scrambling, because holding those passing lanes open is hard and he already has trouble seeing the field over taller linemen. I suspect we probably don't have as many designed deep ball plays simply because we can't run them effectively due to the simple nature of pocket mechanics and maintaining field vision. Again, just my hunch.

Even before Luke we had John Beason & Dan Morgan. Beason (1st team All-Pro in 2008) was so good at his position prior to his injury that Luke had to began his Panther career as an OLB. Sam Mills wasn't a classic MLB due to the 3-4 scheme we played under Capers in the 90's, but even then he was a formidable force on the inside. When you see how much of an impact the ILBs have had on our teams during the Richardson era, it's quite shocking that we haven't placed more emphasis on that position in recent years.

If he plays this week then I highly doubt he suffered a high ankle sprain. I think he sits at least this week. The Panthers are trying to appear coy, but I don't think there's any chance he plays. What's the end game here if he does? The greatest trick the devil ever played was Bryce Young wasn't actually injured? Okay?

If you are talking about week 3 2023, didn’t people have a hard time even finding the play from the week before where he was impacted? It was a little shady, like Frank just said well you have an ankle this week to prove a point with Tepper.

That is what I was thinking it will be. Maybe even the regular backup with the other guys we have being pretty poor options. If he did have to play you could still use White or Hooker if his ankle was not happy about it. But I don’t see the point in risking a setback.

Dalton is washed but I'll be surprised if we don't show more vertical elements on our offense

Both things can be true There can be a reduction in deep balls being thrown in the league AND Bryce cant do it anyway so it works out

We were so blessed with Luke. He was stellar, like the ultimate blend of intellect and football player.

Even if we stand pat on Bryce in the near term there needs to be some new blood and some real competition to push this thing higher.

Any QB moves need to happen in the off season. Morgan made this bed and we all have to lie in it. Young will be on the roster next year. If Dalton plays well Sunday then he probably will be too. We need to draft and or bring in a vet next year.
