  1. Past hour
  2. D.Brown has almost single handedly solved the run defense problem. He’s that friggin good. So glad to have him back.
  3. The way your fan brain thinks isn’t the way an NFL coaches brain thinks.. It’s not Madden. I get that some fans want to see BY sling the ball around in a blowout, but the HC job is to call plays to win the game in a responsible manner. What coach would stop running the ball when they are having consistent success only to pass the ball when you already have a large lead? Who would take Canales seriously in the locker room? Who would take him seriously around the league if he did that? The coaching staff get to see BY at practice everyday and have 2 years of tape. It’s week 3. There’s still a lot of more ball to be played. Enjoy the ride.
  4. Wow … App grad here. That’s tough news. His time on the mountain wasn’t glorious, but he left it all out there during his tenure. RIP Coach Clark
  5. Who would that be? I didn’t see one. Don’t get me all wrong here, I enjoyed the winning for once and I am not going around calling Young out unprovoked but this is the kind of fantasy post that will instigate that type of response. He proved nothing along those lines today IMO. Maybe he yet will, but today wasn’t proof of it.
  6. I don't think anyone can say with surety that we are the worst. I would say that there's a good chance that the worst team will come out of the South, but the Titans and Pats are serious threats to anyone that has designs on gambling that someone in the NFCS will end up with the first pick of the draft. I would feel uncomfortable betting that the Panthers are the worst today, but there's still 14 games left to sort it all out.
  7. I agree ryan Fitzgerald was the player of the game
  8. Well last time we ‘won’ the lotto, another team cashed our ticket, because we traded it to them for what turned out to be the booby prize, as they used to call it.
  9. For my App State fans. Heard Clark passed away today. He had a major stroke last week and moved on to better places today. RIP buddy. I’ll miss you.
  10. It means we didn't have an effective vertical passing game today, much like most of our games. Literally, you see the line of scrimmage and the green dots represent completed passes and the white dots are incompletions. These are air yards, not actual production after the catch (if there is any). Not one pass today was completed at least 20 yards down field. There were two passes beyond 20 yards (incompletions), and four in between 10 and 20 yards (two completions). The rest were 10 yards or less, with the bulk of passes being within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage (including the ones [8] behind the LOS). Hopefully you get the picture now.
  11. Today
  12. If you are an embattled HC and your org wants you to deal with a new draft pick at QB, you may as well quit if they don’t give you some believable assurances that they won’t hold the growing pains against you. They gave him a QB placeholder that really offers little hope, they should be hands off while this plays out.
  13. Adam theilen. 2 catches in 3 games. You fuging putz
  14. That's what its looking like. Asking bryce to do too much is just asking for misery.
  15. Scourton needs to remain a starter. Just had a shut out with him in the lineup and was the most dynamic rusher on the field. He was getting pressure lined up inside and out. Also held his own setting the edge. Its no reason to go back to jones, he doesn't give you the versatility scorch does. And keep princely in the specialist edge rush role for now till he feels out more. Both of them on the field together is yielding results.
  16. Wonder if it’s from the GM or Mara that Dart doesn’t play. Daboll has 0 reason to be preserving him. He’s gonna get fired himself.
  17. Daboll headed for the mid-season firing.
  18. I always thought he sucked. But was lucky as hell. Used all the luck up it looks like.
  19. Russell Wilson sucks. You can’t keep mr sexy on the bench with Russ throwing ducks like this.
  20. Father Time, with some Pop Star Jet Set ultra wealthy lifestyle help him along. 3 or 4 years ago, no one had an answer for Kelce. Playoff teams couldn’t cover him. And since then it seems he has coasted more in the regular season, and still turned it on in crunch time. I think he could still do that but do they have enough on offense to make it that far?
  21. Wilson: Brian, are they booing me? Daboll: No, they're saying Skatte-boo. Skatte-boo.
  22. I agree that we already know what we have in Bryce, but the team doesn't, if they did, he wouldn't still be our starting QB right now. Also, for as bad as he is, I do think the players believe in him, so the more we have games like this, the harder it will be for the players if/when we move on from Bryce after the year, which is a good recipe to destroy a locker room. But your point about the team and the fans needing a win is kinda my point. The fact that this franchise and it's fans just "needed a win" is why it's so hard for me to enjoy a win where we could have both won the game and used it as an opportunity to let Bryce loose in the 2nd half to see what he can do when he plays loose.
  23. This is a sad, sad football game
  24. Skattebo is legit and Russ has been washed since Denver. Dart probably benefits from sitting but Daboll is willing to fall on his sword for ol Russ.
  25. The falcons were near the top of the league in sacks and pressure rate coming into this game, we just lost two starting lineman. I think this week whole gameplan was to get rid of the ball as fast as possible and not turn it over. Outside a few miss throws to Renfrow Bryce executed that gameplan
  26. They are the least of Your worries, people on the team want to win. You have to allow for a winning culture to have an opportunity, if you are the person responsible for creating it. Edit: And I say this as a person who wants no part of Bryce Young going forward.
  27. Do you honestly believe this is a team that will even be in contention for a playoff spot this year? To me, if you're not at minimum a genuine contender to make the playoffs, every win you get is a meaningless win in the end. This is the NFL, it's not peewee league where you just want to win a few games and have fun, you want to get into the playoffs and have a shot at making a SB run. We haven't had a winning season in how many years? Does "enjoying" a small handful of wins every year really make for an enjoyable season for you? I said it months ago and I'll say it forever, I don't care about winning or losing this year, as we don't have a playoff caliber roster yet and I'm a realist about where we are as a franchise. I'd enjoy watching the games so much more if the team and Bryce in particular were just showing marked improvement, even if it came in losses. Because THAT would give me hope for the future of the franchise and the direction we're going. Bryce was complete garbage in Week 1, in Week 2 he was terrible until the Cardinals went into super soft prevent defense and then collapsed gain when the game was in reach, and he was a serviceable game manager today, but didn't make any throws that any college QB couldn't make. This game was a perfect chance to let Bryce go out there and play loose because of the lead, just let him be himself and see if it sparks his college self. But instead, we went unbelievably conservative with the play calling to help ensure the win, when actual wins and losses are the least of our worries this year, it's figuring out what Bryce can be (fans may be decided, but the team obviously has not yet). I don't want to make the playoffs every few years, I want to contend for SBs. I just don't get anything out of 6-11 type of seasons anymore, they're way more frustrating on the whole to be able to actually enjoy the few wins just because our shitty team got a win for a change.
