Their second series was a run run pass. They had a couple others in the first half and others in the second. Throughout the first half their first down runs were yielding 2-3 yards, so it's difficult to go run run pass. Definitely Penix made a ton of mistakes but the run D was pretty good in the first half.

That Houston guy sucked again today to go to 0-3 with a way better roster than ours. Interesting.

We might finally have a kicker after years of kicking the tires on retread veteran kickers. Bring in your own kicker as a rookie and keep him, maybe it'll work out.. we shoulda kept Butker too.

I was expecting 10 per so that is a win for this bunch. Take the small victories as they come. Any improvement is a step in the right direction.

Bijan looked like the best player on the field first half IMO. When he occasionally got the ball though. I just didn’t see it as some great rush D effort. Seemed it was just Penix and a horrific gameplan more than anything

Again, stats out of context. In the first half, the Falcons had 19 yards on 2 rushes and only 25 on 8 others. Edit: missed Penixs scramble so I think it's actually 28 yards on 9 other carries. 47 total in the half.

Mays starting changed the whole flow of the group. And it isn't as if Mays is some unknown. He should have been starting above Corbett all along.

We had 224 yards of offense, are you really THAT thrilled with our performance today that you're willing to overlook that we blew them out because they missed 2 early FGs and then Penix was god awful the rest of the way? It's always great to blow out the Falcons, but I'm not going to not ask questions about the game planning and play calling just because of that. In fact, I think there's a very real argument to make that in a game like this, we shouldn't be playing it safe, we should be going the other way and open up the playbook because we have the cushion to do so. This game did absolutely nothing to evaluate Bryce's future as we didn't let him do anything other than short check down type of passes again. I like wins, but in reality, I don't care about wins or losses this year, I care about the development/evaluation of Bryce, and to me, we just threw away 1 of the 17 games we have to evaluate him, and that is coming off of 2 terrible performances as is.

The rushing stats were skewed. The defense is better but it’s still worse than what we have had in the past. It’s probably at 2021/2022 level. It has just been historically bad in recent memory so seeing this progress is very refreshing. Honestly, if our defense played at just below average level, we probably would have won 2-3 more games last season.

In fairness, 2 of those high paid OL didn’t play.

Falcons averaged 5.5. Bijan averaged 5.7. Penix just imploded the game and it was heavy Penix from the jump. I would wager a run run pass didn’t exist for the Falcons today

The Saints are getting absolutely rekt by the Seahawks. They could have an easy path to the #1 pick at this point.

today, special teams have been winning and losing games. Iggles (2 blocked fgs, including 1 in the clutch) vs Rams to win. Bucs, had 1 blocked and returned for a touchdown when they should have had the game iced and 1 fg as time expired for the win against the Jets Commanders, Raiders. punt return td busted game open for commanders in second half. Green Bay vs Browns. Browns block a punt and then drive for a 55 yard fg for the win. Panthers vs Atl. Atl repeatedly pinned inside the 20 on kickoffs and punts. ATL's kicker could not convert while Carolina converted all. In several other games, the defensive team and the team that makes the least mistakes has won.

30 carries for 110 and a 3.7 avg is hardly putting in work but I get your point

I guess if the D is gonna pitch shutouts it doesn’t matter if your QB only throws for 120. That’s not sustainable but good division win boys
