About the same level of attention that Morgan put in.
-
How about a lower pick? Ladd.

I couldn’t care less about the HC right now. He’s done some good things and I think he knows Bryce is not the guy. Lets figure that out and then see if DC is the right guy long term.

Canales Did Not Call a Terrible Game
ProcessBlue2 replied to Carolina Cajun's topic in Carolina Panthers
He can keep playing him all he wants, the media will just start ripping him instead of Bryce. Once those articles start pumping out like they did with Rivera, Rhule, and Reich it’s over. They are already turning on Young, he needs to cut bait. -
The defense is NOT legitimate. I think we have schemed well against some teams, but this team has real problems on defense. We are further behind on defense than offense in terms of competing, which sounds insane given our lack of offensive production, but its true. Get a QB that can complete intermediate and long passes routinely and the offense opens up, but it forces other teams to throw deep too, and we can't stop that poo. No pass rush, no backers that can cover tight ends, and only 1 corner (who got roasted yesterday).
-
There's a line in Remember the Titans where Coach Herman Boone says to QB Ronnie Bass "you can throw the ball a mile but you can't pitch it six feet". There are definitely guys who do great throwing bombs but struggle with short and mid-level "touch passes". Lotta guys with strong arms have that issue because they don't know how to take some of the mustard off their throws. Hell, Brett Favre broke guys' fingers.

Official Week 10: Saints @ Panthers Gameday Thread

Interesting to claim the kicking game has tightened up after having a fg blocked. i wouldn’t have done it, personally. But be as wrong as you want I guess. -
I still say it's hard to evaluate any WR when Young is your QB.
-
He dooms us to probably a losing record. Haven’t we had enough of that? Take a chance. Houston’s backup killed it yesterday. There are other backups around the league better than Bryce. They couldn’t be that expensive to acquire. Jake was a backup put on a good team.
-
XL is Laviska Shenault, I don’t know why nobody saw that. It was super clear to me. I think he needs to be used more in the short game and maybe even as a RB. He is not a WR1 or WR2, maybe not even a WR3 on some teams.

And there’s the rub….

Official Week 10: Saints @ Panthers Gameday Thread
WhoKnows replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
While all that is true, we have added a Micah Parsons or a Jamar Chase or anyone at that type of level. That means that until we get a good QB, these minor improvements aren’t enough. -
Lol on an offense with Corbett, XL, Sanders. I know we are past the 1.1 expectations. But he is supposed to make guys better; he maybe did that with a washed AT and that’s it.
-
Canales is a wet noodle. If he had the backbone to demand a legitimate #2 we would already have a 'serviceable QB' on the team. He was more than happy to come into the year with Dalton and Plumber? this year. Either he thought any of that was serviceable or he didn't care. Dude is friends with his GM and still couldn't get 1 playable backup at QB. There are reasons why one of those coaches is trending in the right direction and the other is going from .500 to talking about if there should be a year 3 soon.
-
Mike Kaye posted some Bryce hate today too. I think the media has had enough of the sugar coating with Bryce and Canales. Bryce is another game or two away from losing his job, and Canales may start getting some Scott Fowler/Joe Person heaters like Rhule and Rivera got if he doesn’t pull him.

Also Dave did call a horrible game, btw. -
I’m not sure the leadership council would approve such a move and the RB position is already a touchy subject. Probably best to let it lie for now.
-
I remember saying at the time that I thought at least one of those was deliberate, done as an attempt to "send a message" to Smith. Yeah, good idea
-
Randy Fasani was the worst. I think Matt Moore may have had one of the best arms, but he just never developed right.
-
He’s not good with the ball in his hands though. He lacks short area quickness which is what you need as a RB.
-
No sooner than the ball was put in his hands to do something with, it went south. Aside from trying to get wide in the run game, I don’t know what Canales could have done. The game was 3 points, and the main goal was to keep it there at that point and the way that was done was not put it on Bryce. Just keep pounding the line and hope something breaks, hope the defense makes a play, etc. All better than trusting BY9 to make something happen. Now I am no OC/XO guy that is just the layman’s perspective. And I was watching on radio. So, blind. Luke did say they need to get out wide and see if they could make the corner
-
Jesus Christ. Let me be more clear for you. This wouldn't be done in-season. And I never said we needed another runningback right now. BUT... He hasn't shown the consistency or skill needed to succeed at WR. So, if I were the Panthers or any other team that acquires him this offseason, I would try him to runningback to see if he shows ability there. WRs with his skill set and build have had some success making that transition, and he may be able to continue his NFL career there. Not tricky end around sweep poo from the slot, which he sucks at, but line him up in the backfield and let him take some legitimate handoffs.
