Is McMillan getting ROTY or is Shough / Henderson going to get it?
Jon Snow replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
No, I really do not care. Not taking anything from him at all. I just don’t care or worry about individual stats or awards. If he wins it then good for him. -
What’s the cause of the slow starts? I wonder if it’s the lack of preseason snaps. I think we should bring in a good backup to light a fire over Bryce’s ass in the offseason.

It's December and we are playing meaningful football our entire coaching staff should return unless we want to upgrade DC the draft class (McMillan, Scourton, Evans, Ransom) look solid the free agent class (Moerig, Brown, Wharton, Rozeboom, Dowdle) all have contributed in meaningful ways Canales will grow as a coach Morgan is only getting started as a GM Young has shown with a good game plan he can execute and drive the team to victory We have one of the wealthiest owners in the league who has started to simmer down from being the lead guy but has the pockets to make just about anything happen It's a new era in the NFC South
-
Scourton had his coming out game. This guy might be a solid player next season or might just take off like a rocket. Honestly, this whole team has that feel, that we're on the edge of something good. We're ahead of schedule on the retooling with Canales, we're competitive now. Can't wait to see this keep developing. That rookie class, though, is turning into something truly special.
-
It feels good to win. Let's get two more to finish out the regular season. This is a freakishly weird team to figure out and one that seems to be at its scrappiest when taking on favored opponents. That in the playoffs could make for some very odd games. I can't wait to see them!

This is a very fair concern, but the eagles and rams have the #1 and #2 ranked olines. They did that while also paying their QBs. Keeping good players around BY (at a reasonable cost), is a Dan Morgan problem.
-
He’s basically a decoy, and not a very good one at that as defenses know the ball is almost never going his way. In this, it’s hard to overstate just how important Coker is.
-
I'm going to say this, because it happens to a lot of young guys that get drafted high each year. If they've never had anything, and suddenly find themselves getting checks for a couple of hundred thousand dollars per week, they don't know what to do with it or don't know how to handle turning this into a career. I think XL might be one of those guys. He desperately needs someone to sit down with him, explain what being a selected star and then having to take the secondary receiver role means and how to turn that into a long, meaningful career. If Muhsin Muhammad could spend some times with him, Xavier might get this straightened out and become a contributor. He's got the skills, he's got the physicals, his brain just isn't into it and I question the maturity.

We had some serious run blocking problems. Tampa's run D was a weakness for them coming into this game and they really sold out on keeping us bottled up. They succeeded at that. They were more prepared for Rico than Chuba, but both guys struggled. Nice to see we were able to adjust.
-
Yeah, if the Raiders were halfway decent, I think he probably is easily the leader for OROTY. TMac is on pace for 73 rec for 1047 yds and 8 TD's. So he would tie the rookie receptions record, set the rookie yardage record and be one behind the leader for rookie TD's for a WR in Panthers franchise history.

Just because you don’t have an abnormally healthy starting OL in a given year….doesn’t mean they are playing bad because depth gets involved We have seen lots of bad OL play in Carolina at times. This unit is not one of the bad variants we have seen run game has been top 10 most of the year. Bumped down to 11 at the moment.
-
Only reason XL still gets a jersey on game day is draft politics. Some of his ish is cringe worthy and no aspect of his game has shown any improvement.
-
Game seems to slow down for him last year as well then the beginning of this year it was like he was a rookie again. Are we gonna have to deal with the same thing next season?

WE WIN FUG BAKER MAYFIELD THREAD!

Not yet. Need to beat them one more time. -
I laddered his receiving yards from 25 to 80 lol. If he made that relatively routine grab over the middle I think he would have gotten 25 yards and I would have broken even. It's clear Bryce doesn't trust him because he doesn't even look his way 99% of drop backs. I'm not sure why Dave insists on having him out there on 80% of snaps. Everytime Jimmy Horn gets the ball he does something positive with it. If XL was out there using his big body and mauling dbs on run plays then it would be worth having him on the field but more times than not he's missing blocks too
-
I mean, keep telling people XL is a bust. It's literally based almost solely on watching so many bust WR's right here in Carolina alone. TBH, to date he has been one of the worst we have ever had. Not based even on production or abilities, he just doesn't seem to know what he is doing so often in a game. Or give effort often enough. It's really unbelievable. I honestly don't see how you justify giving him a roster spot in 2026.
-
Could be signs of a stroke, otherwise.
-
Thanks. I fixed it lol
-
And as he proves time and time again, it’s not worth the gamble of throwing to him.
-
Is there anyone you don't want to diminish after this team win? This is just ridiculous. Come on. The foolishness here on the huddle revolving around our starting QB is definitely a two way street.
