We won, but Bryce and Canalas still blow
Jon Snow replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
You guys better enjoy this win because it might be the only one they get this season. If it is so be it. I personally loved watching Atlanta fall apart at the hands of the worst team in the league. -
We are usually trailing, that was my point. I guess most average NFL QBs can play 'not to lose' when out front with a lead and the defense pitching a shutout.
-
If you go to ESPN profile page for Bryce Young they have his updated YPA for today and a projection. It's not a weird enough year for one of the least physically imposing QB's in the league to only be averaging more yards per attempt than a struggling rookie project.

My fiance and I were at the game and I'm glad we won. Crowd was noisy all game! There were missed opportunities to get more points for sure, but glad defense stepped up today with the turnovers and pressure on penix. -
I’d like to see what Canales can do with a real QB prospect that has NFL traits and size
-
Think about if we had invested in some talent. But people want to hate on Evero
-
Right opponent
-
He has been asked to game manage his entire career. He is the opposite of perfect in that role. It occasionally happens
-
Bryce is way less threatening than my 7 year old but he did show, with the right game plan he could operate
-
Jimmy Clausen was at 5.2 yards per attempt in 2010. Bryce is currently 5.3
-
Shut your whore mouth.

Official Week 3: Panthers vs. Falcons Gameday Thread

Some of those guys are not even 1st rounders. That's a different scale. If you go back 20-30 years, the 1st round is absolutely littered with bust QB's. I suspect if you break the numbers down, they won't dramatically differ. -
If you look at the 2020 charts….even Teddy was somewhat consistently getting it 30+ most weeks. that helped his check down game and gave all those guys room to set career highs Bryce is way less threatening than Teddy
-
Yup, he's a perfect game manager if we can jump out to a sizable lead early. Today proved that. In a dog fight or trailing? I don't think he's the guy to pull it out routinely.

It means we are replacing bryce
-
It’s a weird year so far with teams playing Big Dime. Bryce is 5.4 YPA (yeah nothing new), Burrow was 5.3, Baker and Nic are 5.5, Hurts is 5.6. Then you have Danny Dimes leading the league at 9.3. I imagine some of these will correct back to normal once the season progresses.
-
Didn't lose us the game. Made a couple decent throws. Wish he was better, but that is what he is.
-
This particular one means guys throwing the pigskin at a tailgate have more yardage than 80% of Bryce's attempts today.

This and let’s give some love to the defense and Evero that everyone seems to hate! Hell of a coaching job today on both sides of the ball. I would also like to give a shoutout to the oline, specifically the center, what a job the did -
I still feel that Bryce can be replaced but today’s gameplan was effective. For the most part the short quick passes negated their pass rush, and that greatly played into Bryce’s strengths. I hated those days where Shula would force Cam to sit in the pocket waiting for long developing plays to happen, which directly fed into the strengths of the opposing defense.
-
I'd say we were back to the check down teddy days but I don't even think he threw the ball that short so often
