  2. The more things change the more they stay the same. Formula for winning championships is Defense, offense looks nice and all until it don’t.

  4. Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB. 4 6 5 4 6 4 15 2 9 4 3 5 2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5 1 4 1 3 1 1 2 3 4 [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
  5. I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell. I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
  6. From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
  7. Maye had a not so good run in the playoffs, but got bailed out by a good defense and some terrible play from the opposing qb. More turnovers than td's for the entirety of the playoffs. He is young and should improve, but is going to have to clean up the turnovers to truly become elite.
  8. Feel a little sad for Drake he was almost crying in his post game interview
  9. I'm just gonna say, I'm super happy for Sam Darnold. He deserves this after all the poo he had to deal with. Not the MVP but played solid.
  10. None of it is rocket science. No one is doing anything different in the game of football at this point. It's about getting good players and putting them in a position to succeed. Basically, don't be Mike Shula in SB50 or Josh McDaniels in SB60.
  11. And two years of franchise tags if he stays a top QB. It!s a nice thought though.
  12. I watched the scheme a few stunts and pulls occasionally but it wasnt rocket science, the pats line has been there acchiles heel all year, this game played out almost exactly as I expected.
  13. I was specifically talking about McDaniels and the Pats offense. They didn't adjust to poo.
  14. Surely there's no way the Pats don't invest big in the OL this offseason. They also gotta figure out if Campbell is the answer at LT. He got treated like a doormat by every team in the playoffs. If he wasn't dealing with some injury they were keeping quiet or something along those lines you really have to question if he's an NFL LT. Not saying he can't be a starter somewhere on the OL but you gotta question of LT is the right spot for him.
  15. Now the only question is how do the seahawks get rid of Darnold this off-season?
  16. honestly, seattle did adapt on offense with walker for bits. and Sam made some of the throws. look he was pressured a bunch and missed some he would love to have back, but he didn't put them in turnover city. even without the best WR in the game today for stretches. pats refused to go with their own home run guy in henderson in the playoffs and it bit them. he was their top big play guy for a ton of games.
  17. The only way is if Drake just doesn’t want to be on the Patriots long term. He’s a Charlotte kid, he married his middle school sweetheart. If the Panthers were ever a real opportunity for him I have to assume he’d also want to make that happen. Would take another 3 years minimum.
  18. Congrats to Darnold! I can’t ever pull for the Patriots they came back to the Super Bowl way too soon for my liking.
  19. It's the price the huddlers must pay in their efforts to be edgy
  20. Game went pretty much how everyone said it would go. Kickers get no respect smdh. MVP should have been someone from the defense or Myers
  21. I think we had a reasonable expectation that Seattle could be on the short list. The Pats? You would have been laughed at.
  22. Yeah, literally nobody would've predicted that the Chiefs and Ravens would miss the playoffs and that the Pats and Seahawks would play in the SB. You could've bet a $20 bill on that parlay and retired on it.
