  1. Past hour
  2. Hate on Saints football all you want But NOLA is a genuinely unique gem of a city and like nothing else in the US. Yeah they have problems but who doesnt?
  3. I know there is this ideal out there of how the next Mahomes, Rogers, Allen will manifest. But Ill never forget how Jake just blew the scene up in '03 Lets let the dude cook this season and quit trying to make him fit someone else's trajectory. By week 5 we will all know if he has it or if he is just another Leaf.
  4. It looks like The NFL Network was really impressed with our Draft Video https://x.com/PatMcAfeeShow/status/1929955553276514572?t=XeN_1L3I960MAY59fbM1fA&s=19 https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTjVqJL2r/
  5. Speaking of new looks. It looks like JT shaved off about 10 pounds. Also mentioned Bryce, JT, and Coker working out together in Cali this offseason. Apparently Young helped whip JT into shape lol. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6401049/2025/06/04/panthers-jatavion-sanders-tight-end-offseason/
  6. Theilen, at this point in his career, should be that guy who comes in on third and eight and gets you nine yards every time. That kind of player has insane value in the league and it's well within what he is still capable of.
  7. Rewatched again - and noticed some fun stuff-- Then they claimed that we started engaging once Ez and JTT were picked in a row at 44-45, so LAR, AZ, HOU, CIN, & SEA were the teams we likely called before the deal at 51 w/Denver. Brandt goes "I texted John an offer" that's either John McKay, the Asst GM of LAR or John Schneider of SEA. I think it was SEA, we had likely exhausted enough energy with LAR. So my read is we said no to a trade at 50 that was in SEA's favor, and worked with DEN to get a really balanced package. Strong work there not submitting to the Seahawks wishes. Then, once the focus got to the next pick - I found it super interesting. We knew we wanted Princely - There were a few strongly identified targets by the sounds of it beginning in the 60s but Princely was the guy we really wanted. The video was edited A LOT so that a lot of the calls and negotiations were shown before/during/after Nic's pick. Targeting him was as soon as KC at 66 (from Sneed), or BUF's new spot at 72 as they showed us calling them and negotiating. Beane wanted 114+85 for 72 which is dead even on trade charts, but Dan didn't want to just give up 114 to move up. He emphasized to "Stay patient" which was good. Sounds like SF apparently wanted even more for 75. Our unnamed prospect tier was now down to 2 guys - Brandt asked about their odds at 85. Those odds were now 41%. You hear in the back "They've got 3 threes" -that was NE. And, we are clearly, very tight with Wolff in NE. He called us ahead of pick 77 to negotiate that one. With their pick abundance, we were able to work out a more favorable deal. 77 for 85 and 146 (5). Not bad at all compared to giving up 85 and 114 (4) for 72 and getting the same guy. That's how you don't overdraft.
  8. ands speaking of Thundercat collaborations... what a group! Domi & JD Beck is a lot of fun to watch. for me anyways... seriously talented kids.
  9. Honestly, that's the worst case scenario. Just good enough to not be obnoxious, not really good enough to carry the team. I want last game of the year Bryce or first game of the year Bryce.
  10. Today
  11. Something everybody who played high school football in NC under any coach worth a damn learned in June: hydration begins 24 hours before you go to practice. If you're not pissing clear the night before practice, you failed. If you don't wake up to two glasses of water, you've failed. If you don't drink water before practice, you've failed. If you don't drink water between reps, you've failed. If you don't drink water during planned water breaks, you've failed. This is very easy to do. You're gonna be running behind connex boxes and trees and bleachers mid practice sometimes and that is far more acceptable than cramping or stroking out and going to the hospital.
  12. He is not a superstar anymore (if he ever was is a matter of opinion), BUT he is constantly open and catches anything that gets near him!! Definitely still above average even at his age. My only complaint was with the term "washed up". Who the Hell knows what we are getting with Renfrow at this point, and Moore is a career-long average guy who admittedly played pretty danged good down the stretch last year. All 3 of these guys will be 30 this year, and only AT has put up good numbers in recent years. The other 2 are bubble guys IMO.
  13. It's amaerica so we need to start using by which degree with Alabama, Mississippi and WV at the bottom
  14. Drafting players off the operating table is a long-term play, as was drafting XL. XL had the chance to make a splash, but he has raw hands and he went through some turbulence with the offense. I was not expecting a finished product. Now we will see what he has been doing this offseason.
  15. He played like a top half of the league QB to close the year. I think he is near earning his 5th, provided he continues that trajectory.
  16. i've been a fan of both Tame Impala and Thundercat for a while. Not sure how i missed this collaboration.
  17. Making him DTR would keep him safe from PS poachers for the first part of the season, right? That makes our WR corps: AT, XL, JC, TMac, (locks) and Renfrow & Moore (probably) and open George and Hudson for competition for a potential WR6/WR7 spot.
  18. I'm glad we can discuss this rationally. And to be abundantly clear this conversation is strictly about the production on the field. On a personal level I think Thielen is a great guy and a great teammate. Anywho. Just out of boredom I figured this would be an interesting subject to visit. See above for a comparison to other past WR's in his age group. I think he has above average hands and is a really good route runner but speed and YAC are not even on the radar in any capacity let's just be realistic. I just don't see a reality where he's more than a 3rd option on any other teams depth chart. And compared to some of the HOF names mentioned in the thread above who continued producing at a high level age 32 and beyond even in his best years over 11 seasons he's only reached 1k or more yards in a season three times. And one of those was with us in 2023 in what we all generally agree was a top to bottom failure of a season where we clearly force fed him the ball and our passing offense finished 30 out of 32 teams.
  19. He is nowhere near earning that 5th year of his deal. His play has to improve A LOT for us to even consider it.
  20. Not to mention the "over use" was also in the receiving game.. he has about three same amount of receiving yards too
  21. Dowdle was a good pickup, and is trying to earn a big contract so he'll play with a chip on his shoulder for sure. I'm also quite excited about Etienne. He presents a passing option that neither Dowdle or Hubbard have.
  22. Mahomes did play one game in his rookie year, the last game of the season in which the Chiefs had already secured a playoff spot and had nothing really to play for. Put up almost 300 yards in a win. I think that's what the previous poster was referring to.
