Yeah and a complete abandonment of the proven successful "Steelers way". Completely abandoning a proven approach to go all in on a washed up QB on the wrong side of 40 is just wild.

This is the biggest issue with drafting athletes vs actual football players. The NFL combine has just exploded in media attention and popularity so everyone is hyped on a players traits. Who cares how big you are or how fast you run if you don't have the ball in your hands. Anthony Richardson is the perfect example of this.

Not sure what the context of your post is, but assuming it's telling me to fug off because he played great down the stretch with some huge buckets late. And that's fair, I agree. But go back and watch the multiple possessions where he gets matched up with Mallory on the block after pick switches and tell me he's giving maximum effort on those plays. He's not. Love the kid, not burying him by any means, without him we are 8-12. But to get this team into the Elite 8 or beyond, Caleb has to be absolutely dominant and demand / earn the ball in those situations. Hopefully someone on the staff will light a fire under his ass and push him to be what he can be. -
REPORT: Cade Mays will hit the free-agent market

You are the 3rd person I've heard talk about Coogan. I looked him up and in addition to your case, he is apparently a great leader, locker room guy, and majors in the best ability which is availability! They are talking about solid depth piece in the draft, but Jeff Saturday had a horrible draft grade and played 10+ years. - Yesterday

I don't think that's it. I think it's poor coaching and not having someone on the staff that can get him fired up and instill that "Rasheed" in him. That's honestly who he could be if he was pushed. Sad / glad part of Caleb is he looked absolutely disinterested today, and he scored 20 points. If they can figure out how to make him motivated, he is the best player in America, with respect to Boozer. -
Caleb uninterested

There are multiple plays where he runs past coverage or takes the top off a defense and our QB cannot or will not make the throw. Its like the play in Atlanta never happened at all. He runs right past the CB with speed and catches a well thrown ball. I have seen several fans on other platforms say he would eat with a QB like Cam. Cam isn't our QB anymore and XL and Bryce aren't on the same page. Maybe you do move on, but acting like a kid is a bust when your QB is turning in 54 yard passing games and your coach has to augment a huge chunk of his playbook to accommodate the QB's limitations is weird to me. People got their panties in a bunch because they don't have evidence of XL spending 14 hours a day on football. Hell, even Luke went fishing. And the social media stuff is a generational thing. TMAC has an active social media account. I think its lame, but a person could do both.

He is incredibly average, I don’t get the love for Cade -
I think they really believe they can compete in a short window with Rodgers and McCarthy is the one guy who he likely would play for. It’s completely delusional.

I d like to draft that Indiana C late hes got plenty of experience and a QB don't win a Hiesmen and a National Championship without a solid C -

The 1 year deal last year always felt silly to me -
Yeah, I could've better understood it if they had a QB to put them in a situation to legitimately expect to win a SB within the next 2-3 years but outside of landing a hail mary in the draft with a guy wildly exceeding expectations or a Jake Delhomme type in FA I just don't see it. So what's the point of hiring a 62 year old HC?
-
They wanna keep thier no sacking coaches alive. Let the big fella tear the place down and then retire. Then give the keys to a young bloke
-
It does appear that way. However, perhaps they have become frustrated and think hiring McCarthy gives them the best chance of success and gives them an offensive minded HC? It’s short term ism, but his offenses have typically ranked well, like Dallas’ offense between 21-23. His W-L record is similar to John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin, so I personally don’t see a major issue. Their problem is going to be their QB spot. Rodgers clearly isn’t a long term solution and they don’t have anyone else on the roster that fits the bill either. They’ll need to find someone in the draft, through trade or FA to ensure they continue to be competitive.

Been over this, but it doesn’t look like Icky will be getting a big extension. 2027 opens up possibilities to shed some contracts. You can sign an expensive C and give a huge prorated signing bonus and a tiny 1st year salary and work around any financial obstacles for 2026. This OL needs to be rebuilt or reloaded in the next 2-3 years starting with LOT this year. This tackle money can drop quickly, if they can draft guys. I am not saying what we should do, just saying we could do whatever financially. We just need to cover LOT right now. -
Top 5 draft targets for positions of need
Aussie Tank replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah I think im targeting a developed one in FA sure it's more expensive. But I'd rather spend a mid round pick on the trenches and an early pick on a more premium position -
God what a poo year to need to upgrade through FA
-
Chanel,Trey Hendrickson,Coby Bryant and im bringing in Sky Moore to be our primary returner
-
Just a bizarre hire from the Steelers. They've always hired young up and coming coaches and now the hire a 62 year old two time retread? They just seem to be rapidly departing from the ways that made them one of the most consistent organizations in the league.
-
Literally its not hard your best shooters or a lower guy only if he has 2 or 3 goals on that goalie. F*cking miller/Jankowski/Stankoven is downright retarded.... and fireable when Aho/Elhers/Nikishin are available to shoot, lmfao 2/3 of your top line and a rookie phenom with a 100 mph snapshot and you throw your second pairing lhd, fourth line center and undersized poor shooter 2c* by default shoot. Smh.

Honestly I would have rolled the dice on EE before hiring Mccarthy
