I like Adam Thielen, not diminishing him or his contributions whatsoever Still sounds like to me that he wanted to return to Minnesota. Reports are he is reworking his contract for the Vikings. Bottom line: he doesn't get traded if he wanted to stay https://x.com/panthersanalyst/status/1960706567940268118?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA

something tells me that rework his deal for multiple seasons and go from there for cap purposes
-
I’m not sure how anyone could expect us to net anything more than a 4th rounder for a 35 year old wide receiver honestly a little bummed bc of his importance to the team the last few years and as a vet in the WR room, but from a strictly football perspective I don’t think it’s a bad trade.
-
Panthers cut Hunter renfrow to show they didn’t even WANT to cut thielen just so they could get a 4th for likely dropping their 5th round pick half a round and a 7th.
-
Not really. My point is that we reached for a qb we shouldn't have when we didn't have the pieces in place for him to succeed. Both of those things can be true at once, especially when you are a dumb franchise. Regardless, we have bent over backwards to rectify the wr situation and i don't think we need to continue down that path; its make or break time for by.
-
I think the deal was fair for all sides especially for a 35 year old WR
-
Jesus Christ. Concussion Dan and dumbass Canalas strike again. fug this team.
-
Crazy to think we pretty much got equivalent trade value out of Thielen and Mingo...
-
A 4th for a one-year rental of a 35-year-old receiver. I hope Kwesi keeps his job forever https://x.com/jumosq/status/1960704429327540490?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA

They look at it as a pick swap. In 2026 they swap a conditional 7th for a 5th In 2027 they swap a 5th round for a fourth round
-
We got a fourth for the oldest receiver in the league. It’s honestly a pretty good return, and everyone’s concern over losing a well-past-his-prime Adam Thielen is just evidence of how far the standards of this franchise have fallen. T-Mac, Coker, and XL can carry the load. Looking forward to seeing the new-look offense.
-
Would rather have picked up some of his salary if we could keep our 5th round pick... Not sure what we are going to use our cap space on unless we plan to roll it over to next year
-
It's my understanding the Vikings will rework Adam Thielen's contract. Carolina won't be absorbing any of his current deal to facilitate the trade, which really boils down to a future fourth-round sent to the Panthers https://x.com/jjones9/status/1960702052230701192?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA

It’s not just Bryce it’s the whole offense. AT draws the most coverage attention, and now everybody slots up 1 spot on opposing defenses game plans.
-
I figured the money was the hold up issue.
-
poo he is going to play 2 more years lol
-
The #Vikings leaked this to Schefty because talks with the #Panthers are stalled over trade comp. Vikings are hoping Carolina lowers its price. Both teams and Adam Thielen want to get this trade done #Skol #KeepPounding https://x.com/rickeyscoops/status/1960406715150848431?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA

sure, and its going to come in handy down the road, but imo AT on the team this year is more valuable then a 2027 pick simply for bryce
-
My thing is, with the cap room we have we could have afforded to pick up his salary to get a better draft pick. I’d be fine if the Panthers picked up his whole salary and got a 2026 3rd instead of a 2027 4th. Who knows if that was even a possibility though.
-
The #Vikings and Adam Thielen are still finalizing a revised contract. Once that's done, Thielen -- who just turned 35 -- will be back in Minnesota for one more run. https://x.com/tompelissero/status/1960701129785799063?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA

just a 4rth, they gave up a 5th
-
he got to help coach our young WRs through training camp and preseason. I don't mind the pick swaps because this front office actually knows how to draft quality players in the later rounds. Gets rid of his cap hit too? Yeah he's good, but we've got a lot of young talent that gets more snaps now. Hopefully we look back on this as a good move made by everyone. If not? Then it's just another day in the office.

You know these were tough negotiations when you have to throw in the rare conditional 7th round pick https://x.com/panthersanalyst/status/1960701857246142809?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA

We basically got a 4th. The 2026 5th is worth the same as a 2027 5th plus a 2026 7th (which is worth almost nothing). I’m sure Theilen is happy but getting a 4th ain’t bad. I am still amazed at how much people feel we lost a player who wasn’t getting us to the playoffs and was going to take reps from the guys we need to be better.
-
I don't know if he makes the 53, but I'm sure they'll try to bring back to PS to get his legs under him. 6 WRs makes more sense with so little on defense. Need to bring in some young guns to compete for ILB and FS.
