What I noticed was Tmac running free on deep routes a lot. Can we just get PJ or Hooker to throw go routes on every play for the rest of the season? It would be more exiting than this current mess.

We're all aware of the frustrating Week 1 for Carolina, but there's reasons to see Arizona as a possible get-right game. While this will be Zona's home opener (requiring the team to travel out west), they were barely able to hold on to a lead against the hapless Saints who got a chance to tie the game up with 2min left that ended at the ARI 18. Kyler Murray was 21/29 with 2 passing TDs but for only 163yds (5.6yd AVG) and a QBR of 50.9 (RTG 108.8). He was also sacked five times for 33yds. Meanwhile, Spencer Rattler went 27/46 and was sacked just once for 6yds. Kyler also carried the ball seven times for 38yds. James Conner struggled to get going (12 carries, 39yds) but Trey Benson had a good day thanks to a 52yd scamper (8 carries, 69yds). Arizona has weapons in MHJ and McBride, but the CBs have been playing well enough for McBride to be the true focus of the defense. MHJ had a good game though against the Saints, so hopefully Jaycee + Mike Jackson can disrupt that connection. The Cardinals also aren't a disciplined team... with an opportunity to put the Saints away they gave up a TFL and a holding penalty before having the field goal attempt blocked. Their OL suuuuucks at run blocking and got better pass blocking from their TEs in week 1 than they did from any OL except for Paris Johnson Jr. Isaiah Adams and Hjalte Froholdt especially had issues as did Jonah Williams.

And Cam actually threw the ball downfield. Bryce can't even reach a 60% completion checking the ball down. I miss Cam so damn much
-
Unrelated but if anyone plays any Paradox games, namely Crusader Kings, Victoria, or even Europa... I'm always down for a grand strategy game.
-
And I'm sure only 1 team had a WR that could have easily gotten both feet in bounds for a catch but didn't because he is a moron and that team lost... Bryce sucks, but XL might suck even more

Highest rate of incompletions due to WR error
PleaseCutStewart replied to CRA's topic in Carolina Panthers
More like 20/80 balls... As in their is a 20% chance our guys catch it and 80% chance the defense picks it off -
ESPN has him at 28 and 30 on rating and QBR. I would absolutely love for him to bust with Sean Peyton in Denver.

I'm just not sure how useful it is to grade QBs based on what happens to them. Grading them on what they make happen seems to track a lot closer to reality. The entanglement problem is real in football. It makes it difficult to evaluate players individually. But QBs have enough agency to make things happen. And that's what you have to grade them on.

lol. It's almost as if some are realizing the worse a sports team is, the more negative its fan base becomes. Mind blowing stuff.

Man shoot, I could do that over the summer, but Sunday nights are a no go during the school year for me! Good luck finding more players!

Highest rate of incompletions due to WR error

Whats the percentage of hurried throws due to playing backup oline? -
I want to know if Bo Nix is rated as the worst week 1 on PFF because he hands down was the worst QB this past weekend. Even moreso than Tua. If he's not, then PFF may need to work on their algo haha.

Is Tepper going to clean the house again after this season?
Khaki Lackey replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
I haven't read the thread, and I'm sure someone has probably made this point; but in case they haven't. If past history is any indicator, then no. He's never cleaned house. He's dusted off a room here and there, but he always retains part of the old regime, so our FO, coaching, and roster are never on the same page. Without burning it all down simultaneously, the only was this works is if he hires a reputable consultant that recommends a president of football ops, who evaluates Dan, and if he gets rid of Dan, hire a competent GM (I'd prefer one with a scouting background who is known to be draft guru) and then that GM evaluates Canales, and builds a roster that suits DCs or new coach's plan. -
Did Bryce play bad?
-
It has sent me back to lurk only mode. I haven't seen this place this toxic in a long while.
-
The worse Bryce gets the worse the huddle gets. It's almost like there's a connection. lol
-
Lol this is the second thread on this video alone. Bryce sucking has got to be the best thing to ever happen to the huddle, never seen so many threads created.
-
That's one of the most sober and honest breakdowns I've seen of Bryce. That guys is being as real as can be. No sugar coating, no tepidness to critique, blunt and straight to the point.

If you think someone shared some bad data on PFF (and is falsely slandering your PFF) well....then you post the QB rankings and show where that 71.5 stacks up week 1 vs the field. I don't pay for PFF and won't. I just go off of what others say on PFF.

but it's pretty obvious, everyone who watches football simply knew....BY didn't outplay Trevor. It just didn't happen. And you didn't think it happened. Because it didn't happen. but, if you want to go back after the fact, slo mo film AND you just want things to of been better for Bryce? Well, you can make that happen. All you got to do is put on glasses and have the want. You will find whatever you need. Well, you know what....maybe he didn't botch that easy throw to Renfrow for a TD. Maybe it was the pressure that forced a bad throw. Everyone else could of been better. It's really the OL that was bad. Nothing he could of done now that I think about it. Nevermind he could of just thrown it on time for an easy big play and the pressure wouldn't of existed....or the fact NFL QBs got to make it even with that type pressure.

It doesn't look like he will. As someone else mentioned, what he does allows him (or he thinks it helps) to maximize field vision. It doesn't seem he trust himself to read during his drops if he went conventional. At his size, he's trying to survey as much as he can with his back-skip/hop before that weird hitch and turn once he's good and dropped back. Kyler and Russ for example are very deliberate and quick, good footwork mostly, with higher release points. And honestly, they both have 1-1.5" on him height wise. And Bryce plays small, lower release point, he will just throw quick on his backfoot rather than step up into the pocket and take a lick. In the process, he loses so much potential torque. It's 101 stuff but it's like all media has an agreement to not acknowledge it. He usually had the extra second at Bama to readjust into comfortable position. They called it him being this lose street-style "Point Guard", winning out-of-structure, but you still need proper damn mechanics! I don't get the collective analytic community ignoring this for so long. It's some of the worst footwork you'll ever see, and it doesn't look like he cares to fix it. It's year 3. Taking out arm strength, I felt like once I really saw the difference in him vs. contemporaries like Kyler/Russ mechanics wise, his problems were so obvious. And he's just comfortable doing his thing, doesn't want to go out of that comfort zone, and it doesn't translate. At the end of the day, I think he's simply below the physical threshold. His size just doesn't work at this level with his arm strength and lack of frame for being a runner. You hate to say it, because people love to see this type of kid beat the norm, but I think we're simply below the threshold.
