  1. Past hour
  2. I think Bryce is our franchise QB, and he will be better than Caleb. But Bryce alone cannot outclass those 5 players.
  3. I think his stats will depend on the development of the rookies and sophomore receivers, which isn't totally under is control. The eye test is a different story. Has to consistently look the part before you decide to pay him Purdy money.
  4. Interestingly I think we have kind of of gone through this as an organization. Richardson implemented an FO driven tank. Bad roster, no cash spent, coach uninterested. It may have been for different reasons but I think the results were the same. A team that wasn't going to win many if any games. We ended up with the #1 pick. Cam Newton came in and changed the franchise. It worked, but Cam himself pointed to the losing culture in the locker room needing to be changed. It probably took about 2-3 years for that to happen. Tank worked pretty damn well for us. Cam is one of one. Not another like him, everyone can't deliver on his draft status AND change a culture basically on his own. So as an exercise here are the last 30 #1 picks. If you tanked and got to pick #1 how many of these guys do you think were worth it? Not just good players, but franchise changers. Guys who will take your culture and shift it so the tank was actually worth it. I would say maybe 9 or 10 guys would be worth a tank, pending the last 5 picks? 2025: Cam Ward (Miami (FL)) - Tennessee Titans 2024: Caleb Williams (USC) – Chicago Bears 2023: Bryce Young (Alabama) – Carolina Panthers 2022: Travon Walker (Georgia) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2021: Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2020: Joe Burrow (LSU) – Cincinnati Bengals 2019: Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) – Arizona Cardinals 2018: Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) – Cleveland Browns 2017: Myles Garrett (Texas A&M) – Cleveland Browns 2016: Jared Goff (California) – Los Angeles Rams 2015: Jameis Winston (Florida State) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2014: Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) – Houston Texans 2013: Eric Fisher (Central Michigan) – Kansas City Chiefs 2012: Andrew Luck (Stanford) – Indianapolis Colts 2011: Cam Newton (Auburn) – Carolina Panthers 2010: Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) – St. Louis Rams 2009: Matthew Stafford (Georgia) – Detroit Lions 2008: Jake Long (Michigan) – Miami Dolphins 2007: JaMarcus Russell (LSU) – Oakland Raiders 2006: Mario Williams (North Carolina State) – Houston Texans 2005: Alex Smith (Utah) – San Francisco 49ers 2004: Eli Manning (Mississippi) – San Diego Chargers 2003: Carson Palmer (USC) – Cincinnati Bengals 2002: David Carr (Fresno State) – Houston Texans 2001: Michael Vick (Virginia Tech) – Atlanta Falcons 2000: Courtney Brown (Penn State) – Cleveland Browns 1999: Tim Couch (Kentucky) – Cleveland Browns 1998: Peyton Manning (Tennessee) – Indianapolis Colts 1997: Orlando Pace (Ohio State) – St. Louis Rams 1996: Keyshawn Johnson (USC) – New York Jets 1995: Ki-Jana Carter (Penn State) – Cincinnati Bengals
  5. Nikishin is struggling to learn to speak both American and Canadian in such a short period of time
  6. Then there is this quote from Rod when asked about if Chatty can't go. “I think those two are our best options and it will be one of them. Scotty, I think he understands our game better because he's been playing it for a year and the flow of playing one game and coming right back to another game I think is a consideration. Those are all things we'll have to figure out.”
  7. Their description says he's uncle big time throw.
  8. Idk, but this just popped up.. KK and Nikki skating with the healthy extas +Chatty. Sounds like Janko in for KK and Scotty2Notty if Chatfield can't go.
  9. I think they might be jumping the gun a little putting Daniels that high but they admit that and I think they have Stroud a little low. I'd honestly put them both somewhere in the neighborhood of 10ish, so basically bumping Daniels down 3-4 spots and Stroud up 3-4. Altogether not a terrible list aside from the Geno head scratcher.
  10. Today
  11. I agree, Young is completely out of excuses. I'm not saying we just straight up get rid of him if he doesn't show top 10 potential, but I think we start looking for a QB who does and let BY be the bridge.
  12. Good luck man! We'll hold it down here for ya. Get well soon...
  13. If Young doesn’t look top 10ish I think you move on. He’s a number 1 pick with no excuses. Has to be a franchise QB.
  14. Fair. If he can learn when to let the crazy out and when to lock it away, he could be unstoppable... lmao Only time will tell.
  15. Baker should be higher and Geno should be lower but that's about all I can see definitely wrong with the list. Really good list actually. Neither should move drastically, maybe swap them and it looks good.
  16. Onside kick definitely needs some love. It's way too hard to pull off the with the latest changes.
  17. Im ok with this. I feel like this year is where people start to see what we are becoming..
  18. Geno Smith at #10 is probably the wildest thing on this list. Geno is borderline top 20. Purdy is a few spots too high but Geno is probably 10 spots too high.
  19. LFG CANES!!!! I can't watch tonight as I have surgery in the morning. Here's hoping that chatty can play near or at 100%. If not hopefully someone locks Morrow out of the rink or in a closet somewhere so Nikishin can take his place.
  20. Not an opinion though. He was factually directly responsible for 3 goals. He was factually -3 in 12 minutes of ice time. He factually had a -4.5GS. It's a fact that in the 48 minutes without him on the Ice the game was a 2-2 draw with the Canes generally dominating play. Those are all facts and not one of them is any sort of an opinion. Let's dig deeper into facts tho. Using his game score and it's statistics. -.08 off -.07 def -1.5 net His GF% was -.33 His GA+/- was -3.208 His XGF was .41 His XGA was .47 So based on his logged ice time and the situations he was in, he should have been an even player net based on expected goals for and against. Yet factually he wasn't. So yes the evidence shows that he factually was the major reason the Canes lost. Deal with it or not but those are the facts.
  21. No argument with 20, which is surely heavily slanted based on the end of last season. He needs to climb to a no doubt Top 10-15 this year or draft conversations are going to get interesting.
  22. Brock "Average" Purdy coming in at 11. Scandalous.
