Legette was/is a character and who doesnt love the idea of this somewhat unique dude breaking it open in the NFL and livin the dream? But if thats his response after the "time off" I dont believe he has the drive Someone suggested recently that XL stumbled into the NFL, that this wasnt a boyhood dream and he just kind of fell into it in college. Then he went in the first round and has life changing money for him and his kin. I dont hate him for it But dude needs to be shown the door. The state of this team can not abide someone this detached. -
That is a good argument. Makes me think But you get the whole family. Next thing you know if he doesn’t do well mom is calling people racist, dad weighing in, the media is all over the guy wanting him to step in it, it is hard with the baggage. But what the hell ABB. Guess what that stands for…

he looks like he's aged 10 years in the last year. stress is a mutha
-
I would say the state the defense was reduced to by the Bryce propping left them a multi year fix, and they were doing the front to back deal starting with the front and the pass rush. They tried to get by with Wallace, hoping he could pick it up his second year, and Jewel. With Rozeboom for depth - and got hit. Pretty simple. We had the guy the Steelers took in range (2024) but passed for I think durability concerns. I don’t remember who we had the option to pick and didn’t this past year. And probably could have maneuvered out of pick 8 to get a talented ILB but then, you know, we had to have that offense for little Mr Excitement. And it looks like a very good pick so what can you say.

With the 1st Pick in the 2026 Draft....
LinvilleGorge replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree. I just doubt they're going to make a trade without trotting his old ass out there first. So let's just go ahead and get that over with so there's still time on the clock. -

Burrow has clearly been a good player in the NFL and wasnt coming off of a historically bad game before the injury. -
Canales in his press conferences
raleigh-panther replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
We talk about Canales and Young let’s not forget our GM …can someone explain to me how we managed to have the absolute worst linebackers in the NFL and the GM is a former MLB im struggling with, all the young players on practice squads, all the free agents, and he manages to draft Wallace and signs Rosenboom And jewel etc…In all the nfl world, those are the best we could do. …or with all the decent, true receivers in last year’s draft, Morgan goes after Legette AND TRADES UP FOR HIM…a guy whose strengths (if he has any) absolutely does not map to young…and Ladd Mcconkey was sitting there I thought for all the world, that is who was going to be drafted it is mind boggling Simply mind boggling -
Dalton isn't capable of playing more than a few games at this point. If they want to make a trade it's got nothing to do with Dalton playing. They need to come to grip with the Young situation and come up with a plan or just keep doing the same crap while hoping for a different outcome. It might matter if we are talking about XL tho.

Watching his answer in the instagram reel that Linville posted is very confusing. and while I do hate cliche answers, it would be nice to know he understands the importance of them. anywho, he’s a panther so I am cheering for him. I’m hoping he comes back and balls out. -
I would be all for any other qb at the moment like one of the above guys said the panthers gonna loose out might as well loose out and make it a little entertaining they could just flip coins to see who plays qb each week draw straws, call crazy wierd plays, make it entertaining losses

The nice thing about playing for the Panthers is the local press is generally pretty amiable to writing puff pieces. Just help them help you. Give them what they want and tell them that you were able to use this time to focus on better understanding the offense and watch film and whatever and they'll write a piece praising you for your commitment and predicting that you're ready to show what you can do when you're back. They'll generally cover for you as long as you give them something to work with. -

Sooner rather than later hopefully. There's still time before the trade deadline. We need to see Dalton out there before time runs out. -

I mean... Did y'all want him to say that he learned that our starting QB is a bum? Actually, I would have liked to hear that from him... -
Lol, he will fit in well with the rest of their turnstile oline
-
They call us the Carolina Dumpster Divers for a reason! Oh wait... our team name is the Panthers? When did that happen...

I would rather see hooker on my screen on sunday… oh wait are we still talking about football? - Today

Hopefully he comes back as guard depth. He can’t handle a full season but would love him as OL depth
-
I think we will all see that eventually. It's just a matter of when
-
If I remember we had the typical OL shuffling and WR shuffling with people being hurt, maybe starting after his first game, pretty sure by the second. (Oops that would be his 3rd) Continuity issues hurt you with a shallow depth chart. It seemed the team was out of sync for two or three weeks. It didn’t do him any favors. It will be the same this time it looks like. I would have liked to seen him with all the ones for a few weeks and see if he still faded like that. He makes Bryce look like the college player that he is.

If you're arguing for him to pick a defensive coordinator it's completely reasonable to ask where that coach might come from, especially since he doesn't even have roster control over half his team right now, and he would have known that when he agreed to the job. So either he was told "you don't get to pick the DC" and was fine with that, or he asked to keep Evero after that hideous year in 2023. In the NFL you build personal relationships and that's who you end up hiring. Dave has spent most of his career as a low level offensive staff member on two teams with older coaches who ran the whole defense on their own. Plus, no one in their right mind is going to take this coordinator job after Tepper refused to let Evero leave. But let me ask this a different way; what has DC done that makes you think he should be allowed to pick a defensive coordinator As far as his own operation, this is what he signed up for. I'm not very excited for the guy who agreed to only run half a team suddenly getting to run the rest of it, especially since he's spent most of his tenure fielding one of the worst units in the NFL

Yeah, Dalton kinda seems like Cam after his shoulder injuries. He can come in and look good for a game or two but just seems physically unable to sustain it. -
It certainly does. And reinforces to me that my first impressions of a player are the ones I should go with. With all of the college guys, you have to see them against NFL players before you know. They ate his lunch.
