  1. Past hour
  2. Bucs continue to have issues -- they have a league-leading 464lb player who was just put in "non football injury reserve" list due to his weight. The good news is that he's getting the help he needs; carrying that much around can't be good long-term for the knees or other important parts https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45821897/bucs-watson-nfl-heaviest-player-trying-get-healthier
  3. I've said a few times here, but I'll say it again. If you just watch his film, it's startling how wide open he was getting and how often he was doing it. If he finds his hands he's going to be a problem.
  4. Great point! There were concerns (not worries? ) about his route running due to experience and not having as much wiggle as a slot guy would. His ability to go up and bring in 50/50 balls was considered a strength. Can't wait to see his progress this season!
  5. Maybe Coker isn’t a lock like most think he is
  6. Year 2 is huge for him, obviously. Come out strong, build confidence, and he may be a monster. Come out and he's still got sketchy hands... At least we have a super sized Ted Ginn?
  7. It is me! So good to hear from you. PhillyB and I were just chatting recently and he wants to plan something for us to all hangout again. Also, your husband is awesome. One of the nicest guys around.
  8. it's not a "wish"....it's just acknowledging our total situation. And once you do that, you can see the path way. starts with QB and his style of play. Bryce just flat out isn't a natural deep passer. The vertical deep ball isn't his thing and even his throws on outs and comebacks on the sideline leave you feeling uneasy. So where does Bryce natural like to go? Middle of the field. Which is why an actual old dude has dominated touches since Bryce Young has been behind center. AT is a half decade older than Renfrow. Then you acknowledge what a healthy Hunter Renfrow is....a WR who lives in the part of the field BY naturally likes. A WR who factually just runs better routes than ANYONE on the team in that area of the field.....and can get open better than anyone else in that section of the field for what would be relatively easy throws vs what raw rookies or sophomores will be running on the outside. So top 3 in receptions (not yards)? That's not a far fetched idea given what we are. I wouldn't predict Hunter could pull that off if we inserted Jake Delhomme in the lineup. And I don't equate the prediction to somehow meaning we aren't throwing to XL or Tmac. But in this scheme, they both setup more lean toward being chunk ball WRs IMO. *Hubbard was 3rd in receptions last year....and that was 6 less than the guy who was #1. So yeah, Renfrow could do it if healthy. Hubbard 3rd the year before as well with Mingo at #2. Right now our roster is slam full of dudes so young we don't even know if a QB can depend on them to be where they are supposed to be every snap.
  9. Today
  10. I told you asking him for help would work like a charm
  11. Josh is that you?! 2 kids for us, Riley is doing great! Good mems for sure. When I get some time I’ll post a bunch of the ones I still have I still have @Darth Biscuitand the Huddle to thank for meeting my husband! Never would have had the courage to pick him up at the gym without all of you guys telling me to pull the dumb card - totally worked
  12. can't tell what the twitter post is (twitter is blocked by corporate), but saw the Deion news last night He's right -- it's a good reminder for everyone to see their doctors regularly and get ALL the things checked out
  13. Renfrow is +21000 as come back player of the year. Would 700 yards and 7tds win that award? That is the max output I could see from him if we have an injury early
  14. Cam will never make it. In no universe, does he qualify. Olsen, should make it for being then first TE to get back to back to back 1000 yards, but he's not a lock. It's not political with Steve Smith. It just takes receivers a long time to make it. I doubt Davis ever makes it. Luke will be the next guy. Who knows when.
  15. Been a week for harsh off topic news... The shooting that happened in New York City today was at 345 Park Avenue, the building that houses the NFL's main offices. No indication that anyone related to the NFL was hurt though. At least, not that I've seen.
  16. DL good,but secondary sucks,emmmm...
  17. A big part of getting into the Hall of Fame is having somebody among the voters, most commonly an influential member of sports media, lobbying hard for your induction. Not sure how many of our guys would have someone like that. Heck, some players even have people working as hard as they can to keep them out. (Peter King with Art Monk, for example)
  18. It makes sense if you think about it. Hands weren’t really his issue in college. He was pretty raw in his route tree if I remember correctly. So he went all in on addressing his weaknesses vs a fully balanced conditioning. He also appears to have learned from it which is all you can ask.
  19. It can be painful just bending over and compressing the area. I can't even imagine taking a full hit from a NFL player at full speed to the gut. Dude was tough as hell to be able to play at all under those conditions.
  20. Wow, just looked up some stats, yea... Olsen stands no chance. What would everyone say about Zach Ertz's chances at making the HOF? Exactly, nobody would even consider it a possibility. Olsen played in 31 more games than Ertz did, but is only 595 yards and 7 TDs behind Olsen's numbers. And while Olsen has the 3 straight 1k seasons and Ertz only has 1, they each have the same number of seasons with more than 800 yards and Ertz's high season is slightly above Olsen's. A repeat of last season for Ertz, playing in 17 games with 654 yards and 7 TDs would push him past Olsen's yardage, tie his TDs, and have done it in almost a full season less of games played, while also having a SB ring. Olsen being the first TE to have 3 straight 1k seasons is pretty much the only feather in his HOF resume's cap, and unfortunately that won't be something to even get him consideration in the end.
  21. I actually think that as long as he has a solid camp and makes the team (which is more likely than not), that Horn will have a bigger role than some expect, because he really is just different than any of the others. Most #6 WR's won't even be active on game days, let alone get any snaps. But his speed/agility is unique compared to the rest of the WR unit to where they're going to have plays in the game plan every week to utilize him. Even if at times he's just out there as a decoy to keep safeties honest by having him run some go routes, or putting him in motion for play action to force the defense to react.
  22. That's... a wild jump to a false equivalence. If my boss called me and asked, "Why do you think you ran into issues with this project?" and I think it's because I took it easy on a routine part of the job that I mistakenly thought I had perfected/mastered, I'm telling the truth and getting better. Sounds like your industry/company is garbage and full of turnover if they don't let people grow on the job.
  23. I'm for having a variety of receivers with different strengths. Honestly, Horn is likely to be used primarily as a return man as a rookie. Can't see finding a lot of snaps for him in front of T-Mac, XL, Coker, Renfrow, and Thielen. I mean, he's gonna be the #6 WR/return man injuries aside.
  24. It would be great for all players to have Luke Kuechly’s preparation or Steve Smith’s competitiveness. It’s rare tho, you don’t have to have something like that to be great. Tons of greats who aren’t in love with football or the grind.
  25. The difference is that T-Mac also regularly did it in games throughout his career too, he's not doing it just to be flashy in practice, he legitimately practices it because he's able to translate it to gamedays. Also, as I've said so many times but some people still don't like to see it for some reason, T-Mac is a such a perfect fit for Bryce that it's not even funny. Bryce excels with two things in particular, placing the ball with touch and improvising. T-Mac is outstanding at finding holes in the coverage on broken plays and giving his QB a big target to find, it's what him and his college QB (who was also his HS QB) did best. And because of his absurd catch radius, it allows Bryce to put those touch passes in a place that only T-Mac can catch it. Horn is going to be great to get the ball to in space, but realistically, pure speedsters are best with strong armed QB's who can take advantage of the deep ball and throwing it past the defense for the WR to run under it, that's not Bryce.
