i’m showing the canes as the favorite, in washington.

I’m hoping very early because that probably means he’s balling.

I'm talking about Hellebuyck

Same thing for DC when they won down in Tampa. He has always been pass first and even trying to prop Byce up he was more 50/50 than run first. They passed the ball 58.71% on first down. That is not run first and the first 3 quarters even being down still has plenty of time for running. Hunt is a better run blocker and Lewis is a better pass blocker in 24. They did not in fact go out and get 2 better run blockers than pass blockers. It's more common to have better pass blockers than run blocking on the left and the inveres on the right historically where now the best RTs almost get paid as much as LTs and are expected to be better pass blockers now than historally because of the shift to a pass dominating league with the rule changes over the last 20 years.

We were 5-12 and spent the majority of the season playing from behind, so of course our pass % was a bit higher last year, but this team is built to be a run first team for sure. Despite having that higher pass play %, we were still only 19th in the league last year in pass attempts. You don't invest like we did in OL, particularly ones who are better run than pass blockers, re-sign your RB to a Top RB 10 contract, and then go out and sign another 1,000 yard rusher from last year, if you don't want to be a run first team.

He didn’t disappoint in the first round. In fact if you had bothered to look at the chart I posted he was the #1 goalie in goals saved above expected for the first round. Not a predictor of the future but at least give the man a little credit bro.

If XL has 1,000 yards and 10 TDs, then Thielen missed a lot of games and T-Mac either also did or he was more of a bust than XL was as a rookie last year. There's no logical path to him putting up those kind of numbers as our 3rd receiving option unless that happens. XL can have an outstanding season for us but still not be a good player on fantasy rosters, as it's a big difference between us trying to have him as our #1 WR last year vs #3 this year. Which is why I was looking at a possible 50/600/5 type of stat line, as if he does that while cutting down on his drops, while it will be a similar stat line as his rookie year, it will still be an improvement on his play and a good sign for his chances as our future #2 next to T-Mac. I'm in a 12 person league with 2 flex spots and a deep bench, usually will see around 60-65 WRs drafted, and I'd be genuinely surprised to see XL get taken this season. In fact, I could see a scenario where Coker is a more valuable fantasy player than XL this season, even in the event that XL has an improved season. As I think XL is going to have that type of season where he has huge ups and downs from a box score perspective, where as Coker could be a more steady 3-4 catch for 30-40 yards every week type of season and would be a higher floor if you need a spot start at WR (at least in a PPR).

Dude always disappoints in the playoffs. Never seen a goalie be so Jekyll and Hyde from the regular season to the playoffs

I hope he continues to improve, if not we will be picking a new QB in 2026

An honest look at Bryce Young
BEASTfromdaEAST replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know most people here are sold on BY after those few decent games he had. I am not This year he has weapons, he has an oline, he has a good play caller, so this really is make or break year imo -
He's got the coach he's got the pieces and weapons around him. If it's going to happen it's now. I'm ready to see it. It's been long enough since we've been truly competitive.

Bryce went from looking like he never touched a football to competent. Given where he started thats a win but his future in the NFL will be decided on if he takes the next step this season
-
Freddie just signed a 1 year contract extension with the Canes. I like it! Look where Hellebuyek is - bottom, having a terrible playoff.

worth your time. there are still concerns about his footwork and consistency
