I wanted Stroud over Bryce, but gave him a chance. After he got benched his second season I thought he was done. He came back and played okay, so I gave him another chance this season to see if there was any progression. Clearly there was regression and I've been out on him for good since the beginning of the season. He had a good game last week and I gave him his flowers but I was sure he would ahit the bed this week. He just ain't it, him coming back last season and playing decently set this franchise back.

I’m tired of this. His supporters will point to some of the TD throws but damn it, an open streaking WR is a throw every QB should make. It’s when he has to make plays where he falls apart and shows that he’s not a competent NFL QB. No way a competent QB gets gifted 3 interceptions and amazing field position and gets 3 points. Number 1 offseason priority is getting a QB so we don’t keep wasting Brown and Horn and we get a real return off our 3 young WRs. With good QB play, we win that game easy and take this division easy. Tired of poo QB play. Honestly, I love this draft for QBs if enough stay in the draft. It was supposed to be an amazing QB draft but some of the favorites have had disappointing seasons and some surprises have emerged. I see this as an opportunity that a guy we can coach up (one of the top guys had Mike Shula) is a 2nd rounder when he would have gone top 5 before the season. Might be able to find a Favre, Brees, Love or Lamar late first/early 2nd. Prayers to the football gods that maybe we find that every 20 years Montana/Brady late in the draft because we sure as poo can close that door on Purdy.

I gave him year 3 because in reality we had no choice but to do so. But I'm done. We need to see consistency one way or the other. We have it. He consistently can't play QB at the level we need to be successful.

Only reason I didn’t go with the last option is because it took me until game 3 or 4 of his rookie season to realize he wasn’t going to work. But yea; ever since then, I’ve just known he wasn’t going to work out. It’s time to move on. We know how this story goes. He’ll probably have one or two mid games to close out the season, but next season, he’d open up horrid. A repeat from year 1, 2, and 3.

The league is so inconsistent with their punishments depending on what team you play for. Amon Ra throws a punch at Daron Payne and gets nothing. Payne retaliates and throws one at Amon Ra and gets ejected and a game suspension. NFL wasn’t about to be penalize one of the lions premier players with a game against the eagles coming up, but suspending Payne doesn’t matter since he’s on a losing commanders team. I bet Moehrig gets a game

We're at a point where general and advanced stats are all in alignment. On top of that, his record, measurables, observable play, everything is in the red. There is nothing beneficial in playing him anymore. He's not helping anyone. Not the team, nothing. It's like people are just not wanting to crush his dreams at this point, but that is grossly silly logic. There comes a time where there's really no longer a need to even debate, no matter the mental makeup. That is right now. It sucks because I get it, people have a soft spot for the underdog/small guy who seemingly does all the right things from a PR standpoint. There's a vested interest for him to succeed. But he's just not working out. It doesn't matter that he understands the game well or is a nice guy. If he can't play QB at this level, then he just simply can't. And it's even more emphasized coming off that Atlanta performance to do this on a national stage. The nation (before they turned off the game), finally saw what we've been seeing. No sustained drives, had 3 INTs gifting amazing field position; mustered 3 points... And when he finally hit a good pass to Tmac, there was so much bad before, you don't even feel good about it. But it gives his staunch fans that little bit of juice to go off of. He had like brief 2 moments in 3 years where we thought he may, at best, be the guy who just beat us throwing 3 INTs or Tua. The rest was all Kyle Orton/Sean Glennon level play or worse. This was never a good situation for him, from hiring Reich, only to ship off 1sts, CMCs picks and DJ Moore for Bryce. The pressure that came with that, the college hype, the fans who have been so passionate about proving that he's some advanced passer. The essays explaining how he made a simple seam route throw in stride a time or two. There's too much of a sample size and nothing to come from it. We legitimately feel like we're in the same rudderless spot since that 1st start against ATL. "Wait, he was supposed to be awesome, that can't be it. Must be other reasons..." and then week after week after week, it's the same roller coaster, song and dance. The dancing is over. It is all there, laid bare. He ain't it. Move on.

Not running the ball when you have two good backs and letting little shitbird throw it around is insanity.

In the last two years/25 games, he has 4500 yards and 30 touchdowns. 700 of those yards and 6 TDs came in 2 games vs the Falcons. It's crazy to think how bad his stats are without those two anomaly games.

Becomes Drew Brees? There is no path for such a comp. Brees was able to survive being a noodle armed QB late in his career......after he developed into one of the best passers in NFL history and used all that elite play/knowledge/career to help mask his deficiencies as an old player.
