Debating taking the ole private jet for a spin out west and picking up Jeff Bezos, Roseanne Barr, and the guy that played Chunk in the Goonies to catch the game. Depends if they got a good luxury box available or not. If not, heck, I'll probably just catch it home on my couch while my wife complains about me watching it and my daughter asking why she can't watch a Christmas movie on the big TV.

He DOES look like a 12 year old!
-
He averaged 2.2 going into Atlanta. 3 shot attempts is the most consistent number that pops on his pass charts. 5 games w/ 3 attempts. His high was Miami with 4.
-
Go to San Fran and just skip the game IMO. The stadium is huge but in the middle of nowhere requiring a train ride to get there ( some nice views) and I remember the seats being a bit cramped compared to BOA.

Keep away from North Winston, you should be fine. West Winston towards Clemmins is cool. If you're ever at the Peterscreek Walmart, the Pepsi guy is . -
Does Bryce deserve credit for game-winning drives?
Mage replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Game-winning drives have been credited to QBs since the beginning of time -
A lot of people have been slobbing all over this last draft but I hate the way that Fitterer/Morgan have built this offense since drafting Bryce. Anyone with eyes knew our IOL was crap but we didn't invest there and instead took project receivers and an injured RB. If you want a lesson in how build for your QB wrong, IMO, this was it. Draft him, protect him, THEN get him weapons. Its pretty much a rule, draft interior linemen, pay tackles. We're paying everyone. We had the opportunity to draft a center instead of Brooks, or perhaps instead of trading up for XL, trade back and take 2 guards/center. We could have paid Lewis and still drafted 2, but Hunt at 100m was just an overpay. And it's not like the guys many of us were begging us to draft were long shots. They're solid starters from day 1. Injuries happen. That's why all your starters can't be high value players. You need rookie contracts mixed in to be able to absorb those inevitable losses on the line. An offensive line playing an entire season together is an abnormality. Factor into that also paying Moton 44m this offseason with a huge signing bonus when we didnt need to do right now to do him a "solid". Now we have to sign Icky and possibly Bryce and it's a mess with more money tied up in the offense, inevitable cuts and dead cap coming. That's not even factoring in shifting Corbett to C last year after major injury to start at a position he's never played for an NFL season. It's all stuff that was foreseeable and pretty easily avoided. The $$ and picks we've spent trying to surround Bryce outside of Tmac (Mitchell and Horn are TBD) have been used inefficiently IMO. Smarter drafting and FA with the line could have let us get more reliable weapons than XL and Sanders in FA. It might not be popular opinion, but I'll take a Bersin with hands that can get 6-8 85% of the time vs a big play XL with greasy fingers. The part about hitting guys in stride was more about placement, which Bryce has struggled with. Obviously not every route is run to be hit in stride, but they do need to have the ball placed well to give the receivers a chance to do something after the catch. I just used Hill as an example because he's the biggest YAC threat I could think of over the past 5 years. Receivers can feast on dink and dunk if it's schemed right. But to make it work, that vertical threat has to be there, if not the deep pass then the high speed routes that can spring someone for the huge YAC to keep the safeties from cheating into that 20 yard box all game. I hope DC and Bryce can keep up what they did in the last game and it isnt just an Atlanta thing. But no matter what, I really want to see some better long term strategy coming from the FO.

the 49ers are likely our worst matchup of the season....
frankw replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Eh. Don't speak it into existence lol. We've got enough on our plate just trying to overcome the bad juju of what has been our historically bad perfomances more often than not in primetime over the course of 30 years. We're overdue for a statement primetime game! -
Does Bryce deserve credit for game-winning drives?
strato replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Passing chart had 3 over 20 I think. The Legette TD and another completion and an incompletion. All over 20 yards. An incompletion at 19 or maybe 20 yards. So you could technically probably say 4 throws 20 or more. That seems high to me compared to the norm. 45 throws and 10 YPA are both way high. -

CRA replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nah, you are right. The 49ers are going to throw out all the film on the Panthers and design a unique gameplan purely off of one half of football vs the anomaly career Bryce Young opponent. Sell out to stop the pass.....and dare Rico Dowdle to beat them in light boxes. That makes way more sense. -

Stats don't lie, but people do. It's a fine stat, but it's a red flag if those are the only wins. -
Does Bryce deserve credit for game-winning drives?
parker replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
He does. If he takes the blame when people don't get open, they don't block and they drop passes that go through their hands, he gets the credit. The QB always gets the credit or the blame. -
I think he was playing for his job and it’s Atlanta

Well done Bryce keep it up

the WR/TEs overperformed against a bad team. Especially after the half. I mean, if Bryce Young never came out after halftime, everyone would basically be ready to bench him for good. That wasn't a "confident" guy. First half was basically the textbook Bryce game. Scripted opening drive was good and a bunch of nothing. Bryce didn't throw any more deep balls than the week before vs the Saints. What changed this game is our WRs just got open and did a lot with the ball in their hands vs a bad team in the 2nd half. I mean, props to Bryce on wanting to stay in and rebounding some in this game. But largely the narrative is a random half of football is argued we should think something different now about him. Which makes no sense 2.5+ years into what is a very consistent QB in terms of what he is and isn't overall.

I think LaMelo could maybe grow into an improved version of himself in all those areas over time but if he cannot stay on the basketball court none of it matters. At one point he had played less games than Gordon Hayward over a few years span. That's just insane for a guy who isn't even 25 yet. Not to go off on a spiel but this really is a glaring example of why the NBA is going in the wrong direction on viewership. You have to jump through hoops just to be able to tune into games and then too many of the best players are consistently in street clothes and they're on supermax contracts. And it's hard enough putting up with that as a fan of a big market team but I have no idea how so many of these perpetually rebuilding small market teams will survive if the NBA doesn't figure something out. The league going to be in shambles ten years from now when the remaining big name veteran stars are long gone and the newer generations struggle to stay motivated to get onto the basketball court.

Same, bro. Yeah, it just feels it has run its course and I don’t know that we’ll ever get more value. Plus, with the new ownership, this draft has been super encouraging, so dare I believe maybe this FO can get something to really put us over the top in return for Melo. I’ll still be a fan of his game and try to keep up with him if we move on, but yeah, I feel it’s time to turn the page. (and side note: I felt so happy after their rookie years because I told everybody I wanted Melo and didn’t trust Ant. And Melo clearly looked like the better player early… I thought Ant would bust because all that stuff he said about not loving the game and just his resume to that point… but damn, if we could go back in time.. I love Ant’s game and at times, when he gets in the zone, he is THE BEST player in the league in my opinion.)

Appreciate that, bro! And I could definitely see that with Cam. Even though he’s a little younger than me, he is also someone I admire and feel a kinship with for a lot of various reasons. Funny enough, a few years after that encounter with Steve, I went to Charlotte with one of my friends whose brothers owned a moving company at the time. He dropped me off uptown and went to work the day with them where I would wait until he got done and then we were gonna go to the Bobcats game that night. So I walk all through that area for hours. After awhile, I walk back towards the arena and sit in a bench on the backside of the arena, where the practice court and player’s entrance was. As I’m sitting there, I look up and almost think I’m seeing things - I squint and blink my eyes a couple times just to be sure, and yes… it’s one of my childhood heroes, Muggsy Bogues walking across the crosswalk and into the arena. I think he was coaching the Sting then, iirc. Part of me wanted to just say, “Hey! Muggsy! Thank you for the inspiration and memories! You were one of my favorite players as a kid!” But, I just watched him walk by and into the arena and thought, “that was cool!” I also so Miguel Cotto a couple years back while in Orlando and told my kids who it was but didn’t say anything to him. I think somewhere in my subconscious, that encounter with Steve really made me feel like the gamble on finding out if they’re receptive to interaction just isn’t worth finding out. At the end of the day, no matter if they’re receptive inspired us or were a hero, unless they initiate it, I likely never will… because again, they’re humans just like us. Not anymore unique or special, they just have a highly visible and very public job that we get to watch and in some ways participate. So, I just appreciate it for what it is.

I'm pleasantly surprised they gave it to Bryce Young over Josh Allen. Finally we're getting some respect. Now I'm just hoping the team follows this up accordingly and doesn't lay another egg.

What weird blood red moon has cast its spell? What’s next, dogs and cats sleeping together? Bonus question: Did Canales open up his playbook or did Bryce find an extra high gear in his stick shift?

LaMelo to Brooklyn for Nic Claxton, Drake Powell, and a pick. Who says no?

Appreciate you, brother! I know it was lengthy, but I felt whoever actually read it would appreciate it.

Damn good take, brother. I think I take that poo personally because (sidebar: I don’t like to use narcissist often because social media has made it a buzzword and diluted the meaning, so when I use it, I don’t take it lightly) I grew up in a home with a raging narcissist, then married a narcissist and just came out of a divorce after a 20 year marriage with her, where afterwards she met and married another narcissist. And in my dealings with them, over my 41 years on this earth, at times I took great delight in breaking down their arguments point by point and forcing them to either acknowledge their wrongs and take ownership of them or watch them yammer and stammer away when they ran out of lies and excuses. At various points, that was extremely satisfying, but ultimately, which I’ve realized especially after the last 3 years and going through the divorce and everything, it does NOTHING to them. It doesn’t affect them one way or another. For a logical, reasonable, grounded person, you would think calling them on their poo will bring it to their attention when they’re faced with nothing but facts and truth and it would force them to change, but nope. Not in the slightest. They just disassociate from the ones who do that and find more people who will validate their behaviors and thinking. poo pisses me off because they’re so destructive and couldn’t care less so long as their needs are met.
