Hos production by snap count and targets isn't bad. They must REALLY be tired of dealing with his knuckleheaded behavior which is saying something for an organization that put up with Stephon Diggs for four years.

Bryce had his best season this year and it wasn't even remotely as good as Stroud's "worst" (2024, which was still a damn good season). His passer rating and efficiency were actually up this year compared to last. His yards and TDs would likely have been higher as well, were it not for missing three games due to injury. So he's actually improved his overall body of work. I don't see any trend downward whatsoever. I agree the playoff game was a meltdown, but I think that had much more to do with missing weapons and what appeared to be an injured hand. After his hand hit the center's helmet his accuracy clearly suffered. It was a terrible game, but I don't foresee it being as career-altering. In regard to the topic of the thread, I'd trade 5 Bryce Youngs for one CJ Stroud in an instant and never look back.

Tarheels and Hornets both on TV tonight. So when I get bored of watching one coach fug it up, I can switch over to watch the other coach fug it up. Going to start drinking now. -
He was a healthy scratch for like 1/4 of the season. Says a lot considering how sorry that receiving room is up there.
-
Yeah, your team had five turnovers (Allen had four) and yet you still went to OT and were a very controversial call away from winning. I just don't see how you up and fire your coach over that. Just seems like a very knee jerk response to an unfortunate outcome that really didn't have anything to do with coaching decisions.

Bryces best year is CJs worst with a better offense around him. Thats some crazy logic to say its a step down.
-
I hope Stefanksi flames out in ATL but Baker hasn't changed one bit. Busy trying to settle scores through the media instead of focusing on his craft and not returning to the form that got him jettisoned from Cleveland in the first place. I love that the Bucs are getting to see the real him.
-
Or how about Kirk who had an incredible 250 yards receiving this year. XL finished season with more yards than Kirk.
-
I think it’s pretty clear he is. He cut off beane when he was going to answer the question about Keon to blame McDermott and the coaching staff for picking him. And then said one of the reasons he fired McDermott was after seeing Josh Allen crying in the locker room after the game. Everyone talks about Buffalo being an attractive job because of Allen, but I’d have to reconsider after hearing the owner pretty much telling you that’s he acting quickly on emotions and is giving all credit for success to the GM instead of the coach who helped guide them to the playoffs for the first time in 17 years (with Tyrod Taylor at QB) and 7 out of the next 8 years. Just a really bad look all around.

Could Morgan be eyeing Trey Hendrickson

I suspect the Vegas win total line will be around 7.5 -
I feel ya. The only thing I really disagree with is the catch. I have listened to plenty of analysis, have seen stills and of course video. I will never believe it was a catch, as Cooks did not secure the ball, which allowed the receivers hands in there and snatch the ball away. That wasn't a running situation. Knee down on the ground and ball in hands does not count. The process of the catch was not over. As far as OT, it is what it is. That's why it's a team sport. The D let him down in 13 seconds.

The hyperbole is amusing but ultimately nobody cares about press conferences. The Texans seem to be a fairly well ran organization with a solid coaching staff. If they're smart they'll buy low on Stroud and keep a backup plan. The rest of the roster around the QB is plenty capable. And as the playoff picture has shown this past year it doesn't take much to get into the dance for them. Remember when folks here were clowning them for having 2 wins early in the season? They still won another playoff game while we're still trying to get over the hump. As far as playoff meltdowns go. Sam Darnold had a meltdown against the Rams in the playoffs as the Vikings QB a year ago and most of us laughed our asses off at him and now he's a game away from the Super Bowl with the Seahawks while the Vikings sunk back to joke status. It's an unpredictable league.

Good on Beane for that. Maybe the owner is just a mouth breathing moron. lol

Has had issues with professionalism and hasn’t been good when on the field. Still, he was a high second round pick and has 2 years left on his rookie deal. Still, Pegula basically tanked any trade value he could have had, even though it’s probably not much. Keep in mind that Dan Morgan got a 4th rounder for Jonathan Mingo who was far worse on the field - I doubt they’d get anywhere close to that value now if they planned on getting rid of him.
-
I wonder if they’d do XL for Keon Coleman straight up
-
Keon Coleman is absolutely trash. He is like 10% better than XL, at best.

Pegula hadn’t done a press conference in 5 years, maybe there was a reason for that. Then Beane had to backpedal after he jumped in… ”Keon Coleman was "my pick," Bills GM Brandon Beane clarified. Expressed belief in Coleman and said it's the team's job to continue to develop the young wide receiver. Coleman's issue is off the field, Beane said, and the GM appreciated the WR never making excuses.”

He was atrocious against Pittsburgh too. It's more than "a bad game." Also, it isn't just a bad game because he looked completely lost and completely overwhelmed. Closest I have seen to that are the classic Darnold meltdowns where you can see on his face in the game he isn't gonna recover. And he looked that way for two straight playoffs games with a potential cakewalk to a Super Bowl appearance. That's insane to melt down that hard on the biggest stage. He has been on a fairly steady downward trend across his three seasons, so I am not sure what the deal is with him. That was such a massive meltdown and the way he has handled the press conferences since would make me very, very, VERY worried if I was a Texans fan.

It's too early to make that statement with a lot of certainty. Still have a full offseason cycle. That said, ain't no way in hell I would make a bet on 10 wins, that is for sure. -

No, I mean probably 2027/2028. I am gonna guess that once Dave is on the hot seat, Dan is gonna be not too far behind. I think if we drop back to being a 4-7 win team again in 2026 that Dave's seat is REALLY gonna get hot. -

I do disagree. Mays is a genuine weakness as a starter. We forget what elite center play looks like because it has been so bad since Ryan Kalil left. The Ravens are pretty cap tight at the moment so unless they get that deal with Lamar prior to the start of free agency, it is POSSIBLE he gets away from them. I agree that it is unlikely. I would just personally not have any issue at all inking him to a $18 mil AAV deal for the next 5 years. That's a position that means a lot on an offense. -

There are several other edge rushers available in Free Agency but I think the two players that could make a difference are Crosby and Hendrickson. Crosby isn't a Free Agent and would required a pretty hefty price tag including several picks. One site I saw said #19 a 2027 2nd round and some other picks. IMO that's too expensive. Hendrickson is a Free Agent and maybe due to his age and recent injury he might not command the 25 million but that's only an opinion. So, our choices are Trade for Crosby (Not a good move) Hendrickson and pay big bucks, Draft an Edge (our 3 one in 2 drafts), or Find a 2nd tier Free Agent. The way Morgan operates I believe we will address every position of need through free agency and go BPA at 19.
