He has had the surgery so that should have happened. Life can be tough and cold sometimes, he is set though. Should have a comfortable future if he never plays another down.

The guy was a journeyman here for a few weeks at year’s end. Probably brought in to be a returner or something. I barely remember him. I remember the name mostly because of Eddie Murphy’s SNL pimp sketches. Which was Velvet Jones. I misremembered it as Venus lol. I think the pattern is, journeymen brought in at the end of a season, will journey on somewhere else most of the time. So do most 5th round picks though.

Man that stinks. Jaycee Horn hasn’t played a full season yet in his 5 year career and only something like 60% of all possible games. Last year he damn near single handedly lost us a few games down the stretch, or at least blew our chance at running a full playbook and competing (Seattle). We’re talking about Jaycee “You’re 15yds from the 1st? Let me get that facemask for you” Horn. Jaycee “lay down for daddy’s team” Horn. Jaycee “paid like a top 3 corner, performs like the #30 corner” Horn. Jaycee “makes Mike Jackson look good” Horn. Jaycee “can’t shadow the #1 WR all game” Horn. I’d trade the guy for a 2nd easily. People calling for two first round picks have lost their minds. Of course, I’d take it, but nobody in their right mind trades even a 1st for him and his contract.

Have to root for Miami next two games because of weird tie breakers for ACC Tourney. At SMU tonight will be tough with Ponies fighting for their tourney life and being a good team. But Miami should handle Stanford at home in the season closer Saturday.

I thinking we will look significantly better after this FA period is over. Not sure we make lots of moves, but I think we makes moves for some quality starters for this season. It seems Free Agency is deep at 2 of our positions of need, Edge and LB

I am calling it, this will be different. They need to streamline and tweak the process of running the offense with Idzik and Bevell for one thing. I thought, also, that with such a thin roster they made the decision to emphasize playing the backups to more thoroughly evaluate who to keep. I think they have far more certainty about it now and will have fewer scrubs to seriously audition. We weren’t winning in Canales year one. Didn’t expect to win year two. Using the first game as a tune up game for the starters may have bitten us though, they will be a lot more traditional this year. I bet.

We have no idea how this will work out, but we know better than to close our minds because there is an isolated incident that is similar in nature that did not work out well.

Okereke had a disc issue in 2024 Missed some time. Will be 30. D captain in NY. There are going to be some decent stopgap types out there we have yet to hear about, too. All our needed positions.

Jalen Coker CARWide Receiver#18 Panthers tendered exclusive rights free agent Jalen Coker. Carolina also tendered fellow ERFA Brycen Tremayne. Coker missed time early in the season and struggled to find his footing over the first few months of the season. He picked up momentum down the stretch and ended the season on a high note with a career-high 134 yards and a touchdown on nine catches in the Wild Card Round. Head coach Dave Canales gave him a vote of confidence after the season by calling him the team’s No. 2 receiver. While Carolina’s run-first approach makes Coker a middling fantasy option, keeping him around on a cheap contract as the clear WR2 was an easy call for the Panthers.
