Linebacker The Panthers have selected decent pass-rushing linebackers in recent drafts, but a three-down player at the position is needed. More than a run stuffer, a linebacker who can cover is an offseason goal. Edge Rusher Nic Scourton played incredibly well as a rookie, but another consistent pass rusher to pair him with is needed, as D.J. Wonnum looks set for free agency. Offensive Line Starting left tackle Ikem Ekwonu tore his patella tendon during the first quarter of the playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He will be out for a while and may miss all of 2026. Interior blockers Cade Mayes and Austin Corbett are set for free agency. MOCK DRAFT ROUND 1: Cashius Howell/Edge/Texas A&M If CJ Allen falls to this spot, I believe the Panthers would scoop him up, but the Georgia linebacker is getting a lot of love in the scouting community. In Howell, they are getting a system fit that could be a terrific pairing with Scourton. He’s also a pass-rushing linebacker who is effective in space. ROUND 2: Jake Golday/LB/Cincinnati Golday is the three-down linebacker the Panthers’ defense needs, as he’s tough, instinctive, and well-rounded. Dan Morgan will love him ROUND 3: Michael Trigg/TE/Baylor Carolina has solid tight ends but no true playmakers. They seem to have an aversion to throwing the ball to Ja’Tavion Sanders, and he hasn’t developed as expected. Trigg can get downfield and be a large receiver at the tight end position ROUND 4: Brian Parker II /C/Duke The Panthers could use a guard or center, and Parker, who played right tackle for Duke, projects to either.

What about McDermott for head coach?
SmokinwithWilly replied to Panthero's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ill take that kind of juju. Playoffs in 6 straight years. Yes please. -
Good start to the weekend. Let's go.
-
Rod is to much of a "players coach", he wants to give everyone a participation trophy instead of winning games.
-
Yeah the rules are not kind to the trading away team. poo load comes due immediately. All pro rated bonus money for one thing.

Carolina Panthers - Potential cap casualties

I’d cut somebody else because I like A’Shawn as a player. No issue with getting straight at LB and beefing up the front. -
Maybe but another thing is not all guys at 5 10 are built the same. You can be shorter and be a bowling ball. CMC is smaller like Bryce is small. He’s just not that small.

Id seriously consider cutting Robinson and drafting that monster DT from Ohio State. Using that saved money on getting Quay Walker and drafting him a running mate in the 2nd - Yesterday

NCAA approves uniform patches, opening up new revenue streams - ESPN Dook and Tampax partnership incoming.
-
I was being sarcastic. He would fail miserably as a nfl head coach
-
Aka. While has been great, he will never get this team over the hump. I’m ok moving on from Rod if this doesn’t happen this year.
-
Paul is Rod’s daddy. Until he gets a couple more players. Daddy he will be.

It's crazy how the Bils have gone from bein considered one of the more promising teams in the league to a complete and utter clown show within the course of a few days.
-
I have no idea if he would pan out as an NFL coach I mean stranger things have happened. But if the argument that he could pan out is based on his NFL career my position is he has been comically overrated. To have had the hall of fame talent around him on the Chargers and only sniff one conference championship is pitiful.
-
Sean McVay/Andy Reid/Kyle Shanahan wouldn't have done much better with this QB assortment.... Daniel Jones (always injured), Davis Webb, Tommy Devito, Tyrod Taylor, Drew Lock, Russell Wilson (the washed version) and Jameis Winston. Daboll is a terrific X/O football coach. If he gets the Bills job, he will succeed from a win loss perspective. Whether or not he gets them to a Super Bowl is TBD, and basically on how Allen plays.
-
The Bills became the first team in history to win a playoff game in six straight years without ever reaching a Super Bowl, which ultimately cost him his job. I don't want that kind of juju.
-
I don't necessarily argue any of that. I brought him up, as well as Peterson and Alexander as non-qbs that won MVP most recently. The only 1 I am certain without looking up is Alexander, but I am pretty sure LT won, and mostly sure Peterson did as well. Peterson's downfall and last few years give me a bit of pause, but I think he won the award.
