  2. Looks like Jarvis will be out for a while as well.
  3. BY has no specialties in his repertoire.
  4. The scripted plays usually result in a score.
  5. I dont either calf injuries seldom heal in 2 weeks I don’t recall if this is the same calf as last year’s season end
  6. I am surprised we have clawed our way back to almost level in the 1st quarter.
  7. Still don't believe Hubbard is fully healthy yet. And if he isn't, any judgment made on him will likely be skewed.
  8. One of my worries with Canales is that he mght have a little of Ron Rivera's "let them go out on their own terms" attitude. Depth chart management was always one of Rivera's weaknesses.
  9. Look for the best ILB who has a proven track record of running the defense on the field. High leadership and football IQ marks, good tackler, looks to correct mistakes being made in-play. Needs to be the brains more than the brawn. Luke was always the brains, TD the enforcer and Shaq the chaser. Worked like a charm. Dan Morgan should know how to build this, but seemingly can't. I think he is easily sold on players by their agents more than what they actually bring to the field. But what do I know?
  10. A pick like that would allow you to package it to move up for a player. Say someone in the 2nd you really like slips into the third but you know won’t last and you are picking 12th in the round. There you go, give your third and a later pick and get your guy. Currency is currency. I don’t think this is happening though; anyone that wants to trade for a RB will want Rico. Of course you could use Chuba to leverage more for Rico. Say no way you are trading him but we’ll trade Chuba. Make them talk you into trading Rico.
  11. This. We should hopefully learn our lesson. If we somehow ship Chuba, by no means does that translate to signing Rico to a multi-year deal. Unless we want to find ourselves in the same spot again -- i.e. Brooks looks great in 26' and Rico comes down to earth after we pay him at the cliff age of 28.
  12. There are times I could swear some of our fans like trading more than they do winning. It seems especially crazy that right as some of our young players are just starting to hit their stride, it's almost guaranteed some yahoo is gonna start shouting "trade him!"
  13. If we're talking exclusively 3-down ILBs, Allen (UGA), Weeks (LSU), & Lawson (Bama) are all going to be prime candidates for us. Finding a vocal, sideline-to-sideline, technically proficient man in the middle is what we need immensely.
  14. I fine it odd that this would be a thing and just a week later he is on the block. Was Chuba being forced into more carries to showcase him? Conspiracy theorists come on down.
  15. I'm only seeing this story from less than reliable sources, some actually quoting other less reliable sources. If anyone else has seen this from somewhere legit, I've missed it.
  16. Ideally that is the right mindset, but plenty of good teams also sell high. But I get it, it's a fair perspective - what does a 2026 5th rounder really do for us? If he's the key piece to netting wins for us right now, then ride him and see how much we can win. I have no issue staying pat/soundly in what we built for 2025, with no worry of if he stays/goes come the offseason. We have one in each round and an extra 5th as is. Thx Thielen. We're honestly in a position where we shouldn't be buyers or sellers midseason. Buuut my point in prior posts- if the right offer comes along for a guy on his last contract year, I don't see why we should shy away. It's a something to assess - the value of what he brings the remainder of 2025 vs. future value added.
  17. That’s when you get into essentially buying a draft pick. They make the return worth the financial grief.
  18. Now that's the stat I want to see! We are looking pretty damn good in the 4th quarter scoring our usual garbage time TDs when we are down 20+
  19. maybe but I can recall reading something recently about how his wife has made him more even keeled etc, but yeah he was a jackass in Cleveland, seems to have calmed down and humbled after being bounced around heres one of quite a few detailing his progression, gotta say its pretty admirable https://www.essentiallysports.com/nfl-active-news-buccaneers-baker-mayfields-wife-emily-makes-personal-admission-on-failing-marriage-during-bucs-qbs-dark-days/
  20. Add on to this with the details. If he's cut or traded in the off-season he has a dead cap hit of 4.5m. If he's traded right now, he would have a dead cap hit of 1.6m this year and 4.5m next year.
  21. I thought he got married like a year after his was drafted? He also has the same attitude it just works when the team is backing it up with wins and he is playing great.
  22. Today
  23. right or wrong but by all accounts baker was a complete immature ass that his teammates hated in Cleveland. I dont think it was ever about talent but simply him being an ass and the team was not that far removed from Johnny m and they had a chance at Watson they decided to cut the cord. So to me it looks like baker got humbled, matured, got married and alas here we are
  24. He hurt his thumb on that first drive I thought? I knew he was going to be bad but it was still shocking. His head wasn't great in preseason either. He just looked really bad last year after his first game. Worse than the year before. It has been obvious he was aging out fast but the mental side is some Panther level BS. How do you see that as a coach and go 'let's get him signed for another 2 years' or in preseason and not saying 'umm Plumber isn't going to be enough with Dalton looking retired already'?
