It’s deliberate. Can’t bring in a known commodity like a Jameis because we’d all be clamoring for him after week one. have to let Bryce sink or swim this year.

The Panthers’ Bryce Young Problem is Getting Old
Manna replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
you dont even draft that in Madden. -
I just dont feel like qbs are prepared anywhere near where they used to be. Brady and Manning have mentioned how dumbed down the college game is now from a qbs perspective. Seems super rare to find the Warners or even Delhommes
-
Remember when Ted Gin would drop TD passes and we were all like shucks, laughed and said try it again? I couldn't care less about winning at this point, just make it watchable and semi-competent. It's such a low bar to have to clear.

Well your definition of vet is ambiguous. Canales had his chance to pick another guy and chose to stand pat with Andy. That's on him, and Dan to some extent for allowing it or insisting on it, which is worse. Or you can blame Tepper for it all.

If you read the thread title to the tune of "two turntables and a microphone" it's more fun.

Man, a QB like Stroud goes to two straight playoffs after his team was 4-13 and he’s trash? Bo Nix had his team in the playoffs and also has the second most TDs by a rookie QB but he’s trash too? Maye looked solid as well. Weird that you are bashing on the QBs drafted since 2022 and the 2024 class might be one of the best ever on early results. It’s pretty damn rare to have several QBs look good after one year. We knew 2022 sucked before the draft and it was kind of surprising that any QBs went in the 1st. 2023 was just OK but Stroud has been fine. 2025 is way too early. Anyway, 47 is kind of a ridiculous number as it includes 7th rounders. If you look at first rounders, it paints a different picture. 1 in 2022 that sucked and we knew it. 3 in 2023, 2 of whom are starting. 6 in 2024, all of whom are starters now. 2 in 2025, one of whom is starting. So, while they’ve had different levels of success, 9 out of 12 first round QBs since 2022 are their team’s starters. We had the top pick and it looks like we made multiple mistakes by trading up for who we did because 2024 looks like a crazy good QB class.

The Panthers’ Bryce Young Problem is Getting Old

That is some fantasy world that clown is living in! SMFH! -
Only 4 NFL Quarterbacks Sunday had WRs drop passes on Sunday. Allen, Rodgers, Tua, and Lawrence. 3 of those 4 QBs walked away with wins.
-
So far DC's coaching and HC ability is enough reasons for a firing.
-
Im not sure they are sure of that they are doing here at this point. Dalton being brought back was a huge red flag just on availability given the situation. A HC in year 2 trying to tank or put draft position above winning would be wild. That sure as hell isn't earning a year 3. It's great for the next guy but not for them. If Young doesn't turn it around meaningfully then I don't see how he is here next year one way or the other. How do you bring in a rookie with that in the QB room? If they were going to go Vet they could have signed one on a 2 year deal this year. It reeks to me they didn't
-
It gets murky because Europe and NFL seasons were staggered so one could be on both in same year
-
Hurts rode the pine behind Wentz most of his first season And Purdy was behind Lance and Garrapolo until they both got hurt. Hell, I don't think he was active roster until 2/3 of the way through the season. Both were drafted as developmental QB's and both were starters by the end of season 1, then never looked back. Not exactly what you meant since both did start their 1st season, but neither were supposed to and neither were 1st rounders.

GPantherfan started following Bryce when wearing the visor
-
Bro put it back on your facial expressions tell too much “ like a pitcher tipping his pitches” and you look like you have some swag with it on.
-
I remember the Europe stint but their practice squad is where I thought we picked him from. I remember the active roster as qb3 for a couple of years before ending up on the practice squad where we snatched him. I thought he was on the practice squad 2 years and the roster 1 year. Got it backwards.
-
Im ok with the 'ride or die' with BY. I think the FO know they get another shot if he doesnt make it, so why spend resources on a player that will never be the future anyway.
-
-
I honestly believe people who think Tepper was willing to end the Bryce Young experiment and go for Cam Ward. Then Dalton got injured and completely screwed it up. But to answer the topic. No it is obvious that Canales doesn’t trust Bryce.
-
In hindsight, honestly we should have stuck with Teddy and built the team up before dropping a drafted QB into place. We traded for Darnold, dumped him and seen him get success. We picked up Baker, dumped him and now will see him beat us 2x a year. Sometimes its not the player..

Bryce by the numbers(emotionless post)
CarolinaLivin replied to KaseKlosed's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hell yeah! I think i like this thread the most -
Tepper wouldn't be able to pull a new coach in worth a damn if he fires Canales for not getting BY to work. So he essentially has to give Canales a shot with his own QB. Which means Canales is here for 1-2 more seasons at least.
-
exactly, this is on the level of David Carr.....yet unlike parting w/ David Carr after a year we are entering year 3. We are basically the David Carr Houston Texans right now. Rationalizing how it is really everyone else making Carr/Bryce bad.
-
Nope and he may bench him again
-
Honestly, they needed to do this to force a decision once and for all. At least I hope that was the motivation. They know Andy isn't going to win many if any games at all so it's going to be Young or the next guy from the draft. They didn't want a backup coming in and winning a game or two to knock them further down the draft board. If that wasn't the plan going into this season then I'm not sure what we are doing here.
-
Most of his time was assigned to Europe and active roster. None of which is the couch
