  1. Past hour
  2. Dalton was washed last year. 2 years in a row he had 1 ok game and then showed how bad it was and that was with all the resting and still getting easily hurt. There is nothing fine about using roster spots for guys who are so obviously washed, especially when their vontravt is up and it can be naturally ended. If it was fine then they woukd have another playable QB on the roster. Maybe a guy who could do hail marries and QB sneaks for the other QB mistake. They went cheap and dumb so now they have a PS scrub that's option B and no help whatsoever.
  3. I mean, it does have something to do with physical limitations. They impact Bryce and the play we can/can't get. You see examples most weeks of that coming into play. NFL defenses, the non-dumb ones, have figured him out. But you got some teams that refuse to follow the path because NFL coaches are stubborn and some insist on just doing what they do (see Atlanta and their blitzing). You can send some pressure at Bryce but the key to making him irrelevant is asking him to sit back and try to read/throw into coverage. only way for Canales to get rid of Bryce....is to not try to steal every game he can in spite of the QB
  4. Where the wobbly passes and tip toe even if not needed throws come from. Looks at his legs in the pocket his knees and feet are all over the place. Then he keeps wanting to make all arm pass like he don't need a strong throwing base, but his arm is on the weaker side. It's more than clear the play caller don't trust him so the whole game plan is handicapped from the start.
  5. He immediately was in some weird and bogus QB competition and was never really given the team going into the season. And we know from Teddy to Cam......vet QBs spoke about how Matt Rhule wasn't running a legit NFL program while employed. I don't think Baker was the issue.
  6. It’s generational. When you’re younger than the players you look up to them. When they’re your age you root for them as peers (in age at least) now almost all the players are younger than me and I look at them like kids. I don’t think I’ll ever have the same passion for the team I did years ago, but there’s different reasons for that. But the losing and blatant ineptitude doesn’t help at all.
  7. Bringing back Dalton was fine but it never should have been the only option. Now we’re in a situation where if Young doesn’t play, they’re potentially putting a practice squad QB in the starting lineup. Should never happen.
  8. I had a quick look at the odds over here. Spotting the Rams 10 only doubles your money. That's a hell of a gamble in the NFL.
  9. Today
  10. He looks good but after his tape was out there he also came back to earth a bit too. I wouldn't put him near where CMC was for us tho. That's a whole other teir....so far. I think we need to see him with competent QB play first. Dalton couldn't stay healthy for a drive so we really haven't seen who he really is yet on the field. It's really hard for me to evaluate him with the current playbook from a full view.
  11. Pre-Tommy Jone Delhomme wasn’t Peyton Manning but he had so much of what you want in a QB, especially given tier he occupied. He had contagious energy, passion, grit and odd playmaking ability. given being a “nice guy” doesn’t really check a box (Jake was that but it’s not really a thing you look for on the field)….Bryce really only has negatives.
  12. Need good goalie play. That flu bug is going around. Also, Nystrom > Miller. I said it. He has been terrible. No better team than his old one to play better.
  13. All things considered thats gotta be the route. Draft a dude and sit his ass on the bench
  14. Sellers has bust written all over him..unless he goes to a team that can afford to sit him where he can learn the game and develop without the pressure of starting immediately. Not sure that is the Panthers. If we do go rookie in the draft, he can't be viewed as a day 1 starter. He does have potential, but I think it is going to have to be a handle-with-care situation.
  15. Nothing will change with the qb situation until Tepper is convinced Young is not viable. Until that point, it will be Young. During that time, any shortcomings of Young will be because he does not have the necessary supporting cast, and/or coaches are failing him with faulty schemes and defective gameplans. So, until Tepper is out, Young is in.
  16. Young is the kind of QB who will go as far as the team drags him 90% of the time. And once in a long while he'll explode and light the opposing team up. That is not anywhere near where we need to be as a team. What' worse is that we've won way too many games this season due to an extremely easy schedule. So we can't select a top QB in the draft, and a free agent QB is usually not the answer. The Panthers fell victim to a long stretch of bad QBs coming out of college. Even if we had made different moves and selected any number of different QBs coming out, we still would have ended up with a bust most likely. Bryce is a bust. Tua is a bust. Zach Wilson? Yikes. Trey Lance. Justin Fields. Mac Jones. Kenny Picket. CJ Stroud. My point is that a lot of teams were devastated by this stretch of bad QBs coming out of college, but we were dumb enough to trade the farm for one of them. The smart move? Tale the 2 first round picks from the Rams for Burns, and keep CMC. Sit tight. Whatever QB falls in your lap in the draft, take him. Then use the other two first round picks to build up the o-line on the cheap. This isn't Morning GMing. I said take the Rams deal at the time. We have not had a good GM ever in franchise history. No more trading up for QBs. Clearly is a total guessing game. Stay put. Trade vets for draft picks and start the rebuilding process with a new GM and new coaches. Cut Bryce and bring him back on a vet min deal. Then cut him again for being trash. He's done here if I had any say.
  17. He hasn't been the same since the head injury last year. I don't know if there are some lasting physical effects, or it's just mental. I hope he can get back to form, but I'm highly skeptical.
  18. Hockey has GWG. Maybe football needs a GWTD stat.
  19. Yup. It's crazy they brought back Dalton. You have a QB in year 3 so instead of brining in a developmental backup they bring back the emotional support QB who can't even make it through a game healthy or even decent play. Totally normal stuff
  20. Oh it's squarely the worst in the NFL. That's why you are impressed by unimpressive players.
  21. That hope is unlikely to pay off. He has consistently regressed as a player.
  22. David Tepper is 68 years old. If you outlive him and we get a not Michael Jordan caliber owner again, you could see successful football.
  23. I’m fully convinced, especially since sports betting apps became mainstream, the refs nudge the games. There are penalties on almost every play. They choose to call them or not. Who here thinks it’s a coincidence the 49ers first penalty of the game truly came in the third quarter on the Panthers extra point try? To conveniently keep the score difference to 8 points just past the -7.5 spread. I agree Panthers will cover. The game will be close for no apparent reason.
