  1. Past hour
  2. I called this from the moment the Falcons gave him that ridiculously stupid contract.
  3. You guys are overthinking this. John Metchie is just a depth piece, He here to create competition for XL, Jimmy Horn Jr., and David Moore. The team isn't going to hold off on making other receiver moves just because Metchie is on the roster.
  4. I'd hope so. And before someone says it, this is NOT me concerned about someone stealing catches from my guy, lol. I'm just afraid of Bryce falling into old habits and it hindering his performance in such a critical season for him and the franchise. If Metchie had been better so far in his career, I'd be jumping for joy over this move, as I'd been calling for it going into both his rookie and 2nd season to try and trade for him. Honestly, is he even any better than Horn Jr? I'd have liked a clear upgrade over Horn Jr if we weren't going to be giving him first crack at that slot role.
  5. Good move for the WR room. If we manage to add one of Njoku or Goedert at TE that should close the door on any excuses for our passing offense. Get in the damn end zone.
  6. I mean, I get what you're saying, and if LB is the BPA, so be it (I won't be mad with one in the first or second). But, it's not like we haven't addressed the position---maybe not the green dot or the mic per se, but the position nonetheless. We have to let some of these guys develop.
  7. Should slot in right after Coker tbh, supplant Horn Jr and Legette
  8. Love this move. Been calling for it for a while now.
  9. we dont have anyone on the roster with his skillset. that alone make him valuable
  10. Contract may tell the story on whether or not we have plans for him to make the team, but we're quickly losing space in the #4/5 WR spot. XL *should* be the #3. But he's just as likely to be shipped out if Dan can give up on him. Might already be out the door come draft day. Horn *should* make the team, but I don't know if the staff actually values him. I'd be pissed if they gave up on him this quick, but dunno. Moore and Tremayne just seem like locks based on the coaching staff, special teams, etc. Without throwing a draft pick or UDFA camp stud into the mix, I think XL, Horn, and Metchie are fighting for the last roster spot/jersey on game days.
  11. Maybe this Dixon guy is Rickey reincarnated.....
  12. Ehhh, torn on this one, as he's a player I was calling for us to try and trade for early in Bryce's career, to get him a WR he was familiar with from college. The problem now is I'm afraid he'll want to rely on his college WR too much now, and I don't think he's good enough to be that guy for Bryce. I was asking us to do that before he hadn't really shown much throughout his career, which unfortunately now he's done (just 686 yards across 3 mostly healthy seasons). I want that speedy slot WR, but I'd just have preferred it to not be a player who used to be a safety blanket for Bryce, but is significantly lesser of a WR than T-Mac and Coker (and maybe even XL to be honest). So in such a critical season for Bryce, not sure I love adding a not so great WR he might want to rely on too much.
  13. Boom or bust here, and I'm not mad at all by the signing. He could be a piece to sandwich between TMac and Coker or he could get cut before week one. I doubt he's signed if Bryce isn't here, but I'm pulling for him. Former top-50 draft pick that has overcome a lot.
  14. Last year all our picks were around their PFF number or values until Horn. Like it or not, that worked out. Looking at their 3/4 board, possible indications at 19: 12 Fano, T, Utah 13 Freeling, T, Georgia 16 Ioane, G, Penn State 18 Banks, DI, Florida 19 Allen, LB, Georgia 21 Mesidor, Edge, Miami 23 Faulk, Edge, Auburn 25 Miller, T, Clemson
  15. Metchie, 25, was a two-year starter at Alabama. The Texans selected him with the No. 44 overall pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Metchie was working his way back from an ACL tear as a rookie when he was also diagnosed with leukemia, causing him to miss his entire rookie season. He was in the final year of a four-year $8,070,172 rookie contract that included a $3,049,216 signing bonus when the Eagles opted to trade him to the Jets in exchange for Michael Carter II and a late-round 2027 pick swap. New York declined to tender him as a restricted free agent in 2026. In 2025, Metchie appeared in 16 games for the Jets and Eagles and caught 33 passes on 48 targets for 274 yards and two touchdowns. https://nfltraderumors.co/panthers-signing-wr-john-metchie/

  17. Metchie has a huge chance here to make himself a bunch of money
  18. interesting we haven't brought back LB Claudin Cherelus
  19. I think we are fine if stay healthy (big if). Chubba is proven, Etienne looked fine as a lower 2 as a rookie and will be better. If Brooks comes back as advertised that’s a very solid room
