  1. Past hour
  2. He was bad again yesterday. It's a little early to declare it completely over, especially if the justification is some armchair psychology--he's still young, and those things can change. But it's not going to happen fast, this is probably going to be a rough year, and he definitely doesn't deserve an extension yet. He's going to have to overcome a lot this year: a deteriorating offensive line, a bad record, and fan/media/contract pressure. I'm rooting for him, but I don't expect it to end well.
  3. You take what the defense gives you. If the D is loading up not to get beat deep you throw underneath and the check downs because everything else is covered. The Prevent defense is named because it prevents deep passes. In this situation, it's what every team would have done.
  4. They aren't watching the games, just reading box scores.
  5. He checked at the mine on his first blitz and it just looked like double a gap blitz. He saw something coming and just completely poo the bed you throw a quick pass to the flats or slant but Bryce can’t make those passes in that situation so instead he just eats a huge sack while trying to scramble (always to his right) and gives up the fumble because he can’t hold on to the ball. watching Bryce trying to run from a defender is like those slow motion African safari videos of a lion chasing down a gazelle. Dude can’t outrun anyone
  6. 1. He didnt "inherit" Bryce, he was was complecent in picking him 2. Dan had a front row seat in building this roster
  7. It was driving me crazy on that last drive just how long he was holding on to the ball. Both me and my wife were screaming at the TV, "Throw the damn ball!!" Especially on that final 4th down. If you know the sack is coming just throw the dang ball up, and at least give your receivers a chance to try and do something.
  8. I think you have to give Draft picks at least two years to know what you've got: Legette is looking like a bust Brooks is unfortunate - with modern medicine he should have been fine Wallace is struggling Sanders can play Smith-Wade is mediocre Crumedy... is on the roster? Barrett got us Mike Jackson Not exceptional, but if someone else besides Sanders can contribute it's not a cripplingly bad haul.
  9. Saints might not be as beatable as some expected. Finishing 4th in that race would be ugly. Less wins than last year would be ugly. Hard to sell building anything when they can't get to 5 wins again
  10. I don't know what the right protection call is to stop those stunts or even if there is one. Are twists and stunt successful because a protection wasn't called correctly or because the oline and RB did not execute correctly. I know some teams leave those calls to the center. I don't know enough about that aspect of the game to define fault. If that is a problem Bryce has always had dating back to college it would seem an easy fix to take that off his plate.
  11. I agree with this Not sure what he is his play calls were poor through most of the game his 2 min drill, atrociously unrecognizable now who knows how much of that is due to bryce limitations he also loves to call timeouts in situations that only helps the other teams’ offense be better prepared to score. It is maddening And all the rest i believe, could be wrong, that OL coach from last year, left the Panthers for the Jags and it shows Plus Corbett with his injury history had no business starting much less at center canales, never has the answers and there is a time to be Mr Rogers a d a time not to be on dealing with grown men playing at the nfl level
  12. Russell Wilson and Daniel Jones are first and second in passing yards, respectively. Stats need context.
  13. They should have locked the doors and started pumping Zyklon B into the room at that point.
  14. Only way we are going to win is if the other team finds a way to beat themselves like Arizona almost did.
  15. I want to see the All 22 footage of that final "drive".
  16. You gotta be able to read the defense to improve and I've yet to see anything that shows young can read a defense when it's not in prevent.
  17. Bryce threw 30 check downs against the worst defense in the league playing prevent and his defenders are ready to die for him again. my lord
  18. Six is the absolute ceiling I think. I could see a win against the following Atlanta this week (division games are weird and they are coming off a hard fought win against Minnesota) The saints game at home Dolphins, Last Bucs game if they are sitting starters, Seattle (if Darnold has one of those flashback Darnold games) I don’t think there’s any shot we win a road game this year (outside of a week 18 game where the Bucs aren’t playing)
  19. Here’s the game in a nutshell. 1. Panthers are losing pretty bad. Arizona takes their foot off the gas and Bryce is able to get garbage time yards and claw back. 2. Arizona finally gets their head out of their butts and brings the heat on the last drive. 3. Bryce folds like a wetnoodle under the pressure. Game over
  20. Ok Frank AKA Red, let’s go. I’m a fair analyst of the complete situation. It’s Lazy fandom to dump everything on the QB. Sometimes it ain’t the QB it’s the situation. And we don’t have a good one here. Stop acting like Bryce has been given this perfect situation to thrive in. His best WR last year got shipped off, right before the season. His best WR this year is a rookie. His #2 is doing nothing but taking up space. His #3 wasn’t even in the league last year and caught two TDs on Sunday. His HC is a question mark. His OC is a student. And his owner is the worst in sports. It’s true that Young needs a good situation around him to thrive. That’s a separate argument and debate on whether you should pick a high level operator at that high of a pick and give up that much. He’s not Cam Newton. For better and for worse. Cam could disguise your issues but you could also help disguise his. That’s not Bryce. Bryce needs a high level operation that he can orchestrate. He doesn’t and hasn’t had that here. There’s a reason why guys like AT can put up career numbers with Bryce. There’s a reason why Tet will have a stellar rookie season. You give Bryce NFL caliber WRs and he will cook. But he’s not a floor raiser, he’s a ceiling raiser. Once you understand that, you’ll more clearly see the why.
  21. The one thing Scott Fowler didn't mention was that Arizona started blitzing the hell out of Bryce on that final drive daring him to throw fast and beat them with his arm. Canales and Bryce had no answer. If it weren't for penalties the drive would have been over in 4 plays with 0 positive yards gained, most likely only negative ones from sacks.
  22. I think a lot of ppl took cam for granted. Many had no idea how great we had it.
  23. I had us at 7 wins originally--what was I thinking??? But lol at the playoff talk before the season by some folks.
  24. Not sure about 1 first round pick, but 2? Absolutely.
  25. Your oline is only as good as the QB's ability to read the defense and slide protection, know who the hot route is/ call a hot route. . Ect. That's all on the QB and him reading the defense I've said this since he was drafted He had problems reading defenses at Alabama and relied on going off schedule and wide open receivers.
  26. I wouldn't be upset if Evero left, but like Canales he get's too much blame IMHO. Only 2 of our 11 starters have to be accounted for on every play (Brown and Horn). The other 9 guys probably wouldn't start on a contending team. We traded away our best pass rusher at the start of 2024 and only this year did we draft 2 guys who could "possibly" to replace him. Our secondary picked off 9 passes in 2024. Kirby Joseph had the same total as a Safety in Detroit. We just don't have a lot of talent to work with in Carolina. That's why I think we should be playing anyone form the 24-25 drafts as much as possible to see what we have.
