Cherelus in a walking boot but don't expect to see Simmons
kungfoodude replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
His potential will clearly never be realized but he could be, as you said, a priority special teamer. He's athletic enough to potentially excel at that. -
Yes, and he’s not physical enough to take on and shed offensive linemen. I think safety/nickel is his best spot, but don’t expect anything from him there. He was best as an overhang player at Clemson. Maybe he has some value as a reserve safety and priority special-teamer if the coaches feel better about him in his natural spot, but he’s probably just an end-of-year fill-in. Maybe he’s worth having in camp. There are certainly guys with less potential.

People are just refusing to accept he is a bust. -

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)

I’d have to look but those games you’re asking about are baked into the 2-18 record, just taking away the major blowouts. -
I would disagree. We are also hamstrung by a bottom 5 OC and HC in the NFL. Hence why they seem so unprepared at various times during the season, hence why we see them spontaneously go away from plays that are functional and never return, despite repeated failures. Bryce and Dave deserve co-credit for how shitty we sometimes look. In fact, Dave moreso because his personnel decisions(including Bryce, XL, etc) are fuging terrible at times.

Lowest Yards Per Completion...All Time.
Navy_football replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, this was 100% on Bryce. For some reason he came out being checkdown king Sunday. Didn't really even look at deeper routes. Just checked it down as quickly as possible. He CAN NOT be a franchise QB playing this inconsistently. The confusion for me is that some games he looks at deeper routes and then some games he just ignores everything over 15 yards. I don't understand this dude anymore. Honestly thinking he's broken at this point. He WAS NOT like this at Alabama. They'll pick up his 5th year option, but there's no way he's extended. No way. -
Well, career preservation is a real thing…

Reimer isn’t an option. He had his time here and wouldn’t be much better. Primeau wouldn’t be much better either. Our next goalie is going to come from another team it’s probably going to be a hefty price but it’s also going to be a really good goalie from a bad team. Saros just makes too much sense. Heck, the back up for Dallas is a good goalie.

I get wanting us to lose during a lost season if it means a higher draft pick. But at this point there's no good reason to root for a loss this week. All the people thinking a loss will mean Bryce is cut/benched/traded and/or Canales is fired aren't living in reality. Whatever your thoughts are on either of them, there is ZERO chance we don't bring both back next season regardless of the result on Saturday.
-
I hope to see changes in the goalie situation and 2C to give the Canes a real chance in postseason. If Freddie isn’t replaced, it does look like an early exit from the playoffs unless Bussi plays every game and isn’t injured- not a good place to be in.

Well dang. This season is the former Panther's QBs tour.

I remember when Tepper made that analogy, extolling the virtues of the wee super processor. It should be made into a sign and hung around his neck whenever he ventures out in public. Huddlers can follow behind and shout, ‘Shame!, Shame!, Shame!’.
-
They're not dumb. They just handcuffed by one of the worst starting QBs in NFL history. The rest of the team is serviceable to good. We just have a bum QB who is dragging the entire franchise down. It's not coaching. It's not playcalling. It's not officiating. It's Bryce Young. That's it. Full stop. We're spinning our wheels til he's gone.

Deebo wants out of SF, and our current odds are high

Shiiiiieeettt (RIP Isaiah Whitlock), this offense could’ve used those 700 yards lol, but I get it, not at the price he was asking for. -
Has any team tried putting him at middle linebacker? This is one of the more puzzling draft busts I can remember he has top 1% measurables, played multiple positions in college and obviously had the production is it the systems he has always been in? Jeremy Chinn looked like Sean Taylor in Phil Snow’s defense and then couldnt get on the field with Evero
