I'd be open to trading Chuba but not for pennies on the dollar. The max we'd be offered is like a 4th or a 5th and that's not enough especially with the dead cap we'd have to eat if we did trade him. Chuba ran for 1200 yards last year and has been solid the years before that and I don't think we should just give him away for nothing. Now if a team like the Pats come forward with a real offer, I'd be open to listening.

Panthers Sign QB White to roster; Christensen on IRkungfoodude replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers In fairness, the 2025 QB class has looked like absolute ass.

It's not a massive investment so "beyond stupid" is hyperbolic. It's just generally unnecessary. At this point, the results have been basically very similar. He can elevate his game to moderate game manager levels at his peak and mostly he is a significantly below average NFL QB. He is essentially an upper half NFL backup QB at the moment. It's possible he develops eventually. I will never say it's IMPOSSIBLE for that to happen but does anyone honestly think that is likely? If so, based on what aspects of his 2.5 year career so far? Why does his gameplay look so similar to 2023 when the investments in the offense have been so immense?

Yes. That's what you buy on a discount in free agency while the team keeps swinging in the draft and not spend multiple 1st, a starter and more on. Also it's year 3 so I have no idea what people are hoping a surge of improvement comes from at this point. It's not coming physically. Maybe he sits and fixes his mechanics after his stint here? Seems like a stretch given why they are the way they are but that's the only route I can guess and even then it's hitting jag QB levels. The only way he can bust harder at this point is by the team taking his 5th option and dragging out another 2 years of this crap and still go no where with it.

I was advocating an older vet seeing as we already have a distressed asset as our QB1.

TBD if the deal gets done. Likely would be Monday or early Tuesday. A 5th round pick has been discussed. #NFL #KeepPounding

The Bus Stop is now 7th in the league with a 2.25 GAA and 12th with a .916 sv% ...and he's done all that behind a 50% AHL defense!

Fair enough - if the mindset is winning absolutely. They’re a tad confusing though. I think we’re fine holding right now unless a good deal comes in from let’s say a NE Given the pattern, I’m convinced Cuba stays, we pay Rico but then Brooks looks legit in 26. The potential lesson being - stop paying RBs
-
No I understand it from that perspective, but if you’re trying to win, you keep him and play him. While trading him if you don’t plan on paying him makes sense, we also chose to not keep Foreman after an amazing run to close that year out and it took us this long to find a similarly explosive RB that fits our offense. And while I appreciate all Chuba has done, we ultimately chose to pay him for being a good guy, and then got better production out of Rico on a one year deal. if we chose to pay him, it would likely not be anything near what Chuba got. So, my opinion is, if you’re trying to win, you trade Chuba, and ultimately whatever you give Rico likely fills the salary slot Chuba’s number was already occupying, and we get more production while also opening up more carries for our future back in Etienne.

Darling Nikki now tied with Makar for top +/- in the entire league at +11

It makes sense. i don’t see why people don’t get it. Dowdle will be 28 after his simple 1 year contract with this lousy org. So you want to sign him and overallocate our RB room for a guy we’ve only seen a 1/2 Matt Moore sample size from? Everyone just needs to take a beat. If we’re not paying him then absolutely listen to calls. Every player has a price. This team has no untouchables outside of McMillan and Brown.

How great would it be for The Bus Stop to send Florida home from the playoffs after they basically cut him this year?!?
