If you are talking about me how are they excuses? For who? The criticism of Reich was he was outdated in his play designs and boring and too old school. I wasn’t addressing that. I simply contended that a Reich the OC play caller that people hated does not affect his ability as a QB evaluator. Separate areas that can be separate.

Not that I am frequently right, but I wanted Jones. The scheme and supporting cast makes all the difference.
-
I suspect the owners might come into play. And pressure.
-
You are absolutely blind then.

Yardage based rankings are so full of holes. I do not trust them. So much chicken or egg comes into it. And when you get into the season, a team can be totally different than they were a month ago. Either direction, due to injuries or even simple improvement.

To the last part. Evero sucks at generating pressure unless he’s going up against a beat up OL like the Jets. However.. he does do a good job of having the DL/LBs contain. Hes even mentioned that’s part of the reason that they struggle to rush the QBs because he doesn’t want guys moving out of containment.

If there was ever a game to get behind that offensive line and the run the rock with Rico it's this game. Only one team has been worst than Buffalo at stopping the run this season and that's Miami and we saw what happened in that game with Dowdle. Buffalo of course has one of the most dynamic offenses so the more time we can keep that offense off the field the better, sustaining drives will be crucial. Atlanta had their way with Buffalo in their last game that score could have easily been 28-7 at the half. With that said with an improved vertical passing attack and emphasis on the run game Carolina pulls the upset 24-17

This sounds just like a lot of Panthers fan during Bryce's rookie year
-
Ours at least isn't from lack of effort in our front office. Icky missed the first game, Moton missed week 6, Hunt has missed a lot of the games and will be out for a while, Lewis was out last game, our center fortunately upgraded when Corbs went down. I don't know if we have started the same group of OL yet this year....
-
I will be highly shocked if we are not down by more than 14 in the first quarter. We shall see!

BREAKING: Panthers signing a new QB

This SI Article is hilarious: LOL, reference from The Wire. -
Not unreasonable. The OL and pass pro will be the key IMO.

I’m not talking about when they started to do some CYA. The quote was about Frank and Fitterer being in lock step. That was said in press conferences right after the draft and before mini-camps. The other guy gave me a huge post on why Reich is awesome. He’s doing exactly what I mentioned for the excuses. Bottom line is that, yes, I believe there’s more truth to those early press conferences than to current day gut feelings and post-Reich/Fitterer firing rants trying to CYA. Could it all have been lies? Sure, but nothing has actually come out proving it. Believe me and I promise don’t hold as much weight as actual spoken words after the draft/before Young snapped a ball as a Panther. Again, look at the PG poo. To this day, people still think Tepper in May saying PG means that Tepper made the pick himself even though the OC discussed QBs as PGs with a team reporter 3 months before Tepper regurgitated a snippet of that.

Weirdly think there's a better chance we pull off the upset with Dalton. Canales might call some plays that he didn't trust Bryce with, and if we can get a halfway decent Dalton game (and run the hell out of the ball), I think we can stay in it. The Bills offense seems like hot garbage this year and then gets hot in spurts. Josh's scrambling is the biggest issue, if we can contain Cook.

I would go with we are in famine now, with those guys it was feast or maybe TV dinners with the occasional famine. 7-9 was the running joke when predicting the record for well over a decade.
-
I am just a hard head that is entrenched in the idea that if you played the game for real than you know what it takes. Better than someone who has not. And will not be so easily fooled by something like an S2, media opinions, and surely not bloated water weight at a weigh in And are likely to to value the physical toolkit because you have seen how big and fast and violent the game is up close. You had to compete with those players. Morgan said early on, it is a big man’s game. I don’t think he excludes QB from that paradigm but just cannot say so publicly until this all plays out. and maybe privately too right now.
-
I never understood the fields love i got attacked when I explained to people how terrible he has been. I dont even understand how nfl gms can be fooled into giving him another shot. Young is better than fields in the horrible qb compeittion but fields is a way more athletic qb just has 0 field awareness at all. maybe someone could make him read one wr and run if he isnt open and may could do better than he is doing.
-
Is their pass defense good because their rush defense is so bad though? People thought we had a good defense in 2023 because our pass defense was so good. Turns out teams just didn't pass on us because it was easier to just run all over us.

BREAKING: Panthers signing a new QB
Move the Panthers to Raleigh replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd actually like for this guy to see some action. Dalton is good for 1 game only -
I agree but also the Fox/Rivera mediocrity was feast or famine. Arizona bearly hits mediocrity at best and usually worse. Letting Rhule lead the teardown was such a multiplier of pain that it can't be understated.

Imagine being a 37 year old QB who doesn’t play much injury away from facing the Bills/McDermott after sitting on your couch the last weekend -
If we keep this "every other" RB nonsense going, it is liable to get ugly for us early. Ride Dowdle and put them in a hole early.

I am not advocating for Tua just saying a non-mushed Tua isn't the worst case scenario for Bryce as a ceiling. But it's also not a top 10 contract player nor a player worth the price we paid to get him. -
