  1. Past hour
  2. It's a dicey situation for sure. The devil you know and all. And moving on from Tomlin would be risky as hell. They are just in qb purgatory
  3. would probably be best for the steelers to have a massive reboot, but i'm quite content them being on this path they seem to be content to be on.
  4. Toronto wouldve waxed us as well, possibly Dallas. Its 7 years of this and the year before we had a much better team and same results.
  5. You say this but don’t acknowledge the reality that Florida beat us with a similar style. Except their power play is basically trying to get garbage goals. You have given up on Rod and that’s fine. But where are the teams that are doing so much better? Oh yeah there’s only 2 of them right now and they’re in the finals.
  6. Didn’t catch that one. Hmmmm… From just a couple videos, Dan seems to be big on nuance. In the draft video, he commented when Tmac said he “would get the chance to play here.” How he said what he said made an impression on Dan. He comes off as a pretty deep dude in these videos, in true southpaw style.
  7. It would probably be best for him and the Steelers both. Just seems like coaches run their course in the NFL. The message gets stale and both the coach and the team just need a change. The Steelers right now just seem to be completely embracing mediocrity. Forget winning more rings, let's just be happy if we make the dance. Two washed up retread QBs back to back just trying to cling to that mediocrity. I guess the Russ experiment didn't teach them anything. Now you're going with an older, even bigger egomaniac coming off an Achilles tear at 40. These guys aren't going to magically dial the clock back a decade. It is what it is. These dudes are washed and honestly so are the Steelers as a franchise in their current state.
  8. Today
  9. Yeah, we shouldn't be hating on this. It brings eyes to our team. Lady eyes. We have our Southern Swift/Kelce thing going on right now.
  10. Oh no he benched 18 yr olds sometimes. Not sure what more you would want those stars to do in college, Worthy, Jordan, Jamison all won NPOY. 2 won nattys. And again it was a completely different era than now. Dean Smith was seen as a very progressive and empowering coach for his players at the time. Stars and big time recruits wanted to play for him and benefited from playing for him. Can you be more clear or admit that you were wrong because comparing Dean to Rod just makes no sense with the reasons you’ve given and you just come off as a dook or state fan that wanted to take a shot at Dean Smith for seemingly no reason. And what does And John Wooden mean? He was already a well established coach and starting his run when Dean Smith was just getting started coaching. But hey if your criteria is that a coach is either Wooden and anything less than 10 titles is the same as Rod then you do you.
  11. Ppl that were butthurt over a week of Netflix are going through it this week. Bryce in GQ and XL in a music video? Ooh wee mayne.
  12. Elite players dont fit Rods system. Rod has hit his ceiling. We arent going further.
  13. in the video, he referred to himself as a "former Carolina Panther" he left out the "player, on the field" portion of that sentence. Once a Panther, ALWAYS a Panther (well, some exceptions may apply)
  14. Dean Smith frequently benched players when he thought their egos were taking over the game. And all of the stars you mentioned showed out much better in the NBA than their college careers might have indicated And John Wooden.
  15. First of all, loved this video. I watched last night. I normally not one to do, I told you so's,,,,, Most around here hated the fact Dan Morgan was promoted to GM. In my eyes, he had paid his dues, and had earned the opportunity to run a team. I dont know how anybody can be against him at this point. He lives and breathes football. He absolutely is the right man for the job. I also have to give him credit for bringing Dace C, and Tillis. This franchise has the best front office it has ever had, IMO. And under Teppers ownership. Keep pounding Dan.
  16. He’s blowing up with the ladies on the tikitok
  17. I met him at an OTA when he was rookie. I liked him, and so did my small children. I got a photo of him with my kids, and his nylon stretch shirt was ripped off his shoulder and down his side. I remember thinking, "This was an OTA. He must have been battling so hard (going full speed) that the OT grabbed him and ripped off his shirt." Normally, there is a "rule" that you stop when you are not in full pads when the other player shows that he controlled you or is in position to--like pulling up and not hitting the RBs. I got the feeling that he was going full throttle. Just speculation, but it was consistent with what we would learn about him.
  18. Morgan, Mills, Keuchley, Beason--all within the first 25 years of the team's existence--we have been spoiled by great MLB play.
  19. Some people just want to get the attention of a celebrity and feel zero empathy for that player's feelings or personal space. My dad was lifelong friends with some big names in football (Roman Gabriel, Dan Reeves) and baseball (Pete Rose and Tommy Helms of the Reds) and I learned very young that they are people doing a job and really want to be treated like everyone else. So when I see a celebrity in public who is flying under the radar, I try not to bring attention to myself or them--I might wave if we make eye contact but that is about it. Flashback In Washington DC (Georgetown) I was eating at a restaurant with my then fiance (she dumped me later--still hurts) and at the end of the dinner, I whispered to her, "Do not look back until we are getting up to leave, but do you know who has been sitting behind you for about 15 minutes?" She said, "No. Who?" I stood to leave, so she turned around while picking up her purse, saw him, and turned back around to look at me with a shocked facial expression. It was Billy Crystal. I put my finger over my lips to keep her quiet, but she turned toward him and said, "You look Marvelous!! (one of his famous lines) and proceeded to tell him that her favorite movie is The Princess Bride, a film Crystal had a small part in as Miracle Max. Grabbing her upper arms from behind, I looked at Crystal sympathetically and he cracked a faint grin--and I gently pulled her toward the exit. She was mad at me for not telling her sooner and said that I embarrassed her by pulling her away. I told her "You had already embarrassed yourself. I was just doing some damage control." I knew that she had exposed him, and how much he was valuing his anonymity until she sounded the trumpets.
  20. I remember that game, vividly. I dare argue 2003 was the most talent stacked team our franchise has ever seen. HOF level talent: Dan, Peppers, Jenkins, Steve. Undeniable. Think about it. He had the chance to be the MVP of the Cinderella team that took down the goat in his prime. I don’t want to derail the original topic, but some fans just are too young to appreciate the caliber player Dan was. I hope some of the younger fans have watched some his game tape. If there is anyone who can spot a baller from a mile away, it’s Dan. There’s no questioning what this franchise means to him
  21. He was a top 5 pick talent wise. He had 3 speeds. On, off and then everyone run for your life. His kraken moniker was spot on. Landing here with the veteran leadership gave him a chance but his mental issues cost him over $100 million.
  22. And he was probably the MVP of that game had the panthers won. He had 11 unassisted tackles, 7 assisted, for 18 tackles, the most in Super Bowl history--think about that-Ray Lewis, Jack Ham, Mike Curtis, Ray Nitschke, Mike Singletary--the list of super bowl ILBs is sick.
  23. Dan still can’t watch the 2003 SB tape. Can’t blame him. He’s definitely not ok with losing.
  24. I'm actually excited for this year, I think Bryce has a real shot at breaking out, along with getting his confidence back the biggest thing I saw with him in the second half of the year was the cliche that "the game slowed down for him" which for a guy whose key trait is his football IQ was key.... he was reading defenses incredibly well both pre and post snap.... as soon as he realized he could trust his line.
  25. There was a small number thinking we would take and should take Richardson at one
  26. I mean the Panthers GM used to post on this forum back in the day and the jerk offs trolled him with concussion comments... Heck id bet if the Luke Ness Monster himself posted here there would be jerk offs doing the same thing.
  27. He was absolutely a first round talent, size power length, and athletic ability.... absolutely a beast a little crazy.... (dline is a spot you like a little crazy if they can keep it on the field.) He couldn’t the guy literally went off the rails right when he was on the verge of a massive payday.
