BREAKING: Panthers make massive changes to front office

Anyone want to tell me whether the links are worth clicking on or not? -
I was impressed with Bryce down the stretch tbh, but was that compared to other QBs or the level of QB play we've seen in Carolina lately. I don't think his performance down the stretch has cemented him as our franchise QB, but it did buy him another season. He must improve on what we've seen from him and do it consistently and from the start. So far Stroud still looks to be far superior to Bryce.

I love the way you think if we take away 40 WRs TMac is WR 1 #dynasty
-
Incredible? Jesus H Christ dude, at least take the blinders off last 5 games he averaged roughly 200 yards a game, 62% completion and 1.8 tds a game. Incredible wouldnt be the word I would use
-
Cam finished 5-1 to close out year 2. 14 TDs, 2 turnovers in that window and accounting for significantly more O. More passing yardage per game and lead the team in rushing the majority of those games. what hurt Cam the most was the adjustment teams made to our offense with Cam going into year 2. Which was what made the first half of that year so rough. Got to think a variation of that is coming for Bryce this year as he returns to the same O with an offseason of film study

4610 total yards 27 total touchdowns 8 yards per attempt. Completion percentage was usual Cam ie mediocre or below at best at 57.7 and 86.2 passer rating. But the man scored points and moved the ball at will often. Compared to 2652 total yards 21 total touchdowns 6.3 yards per attempt completion % 60.9 82.2 passer rating. Let's just not do things like this. We can acknowledge Bryce improved (from realistically a bottom 5 QB) and hope he can work his way within the top 15 this season without dragging Cam Newton into it and unintentionally diminishing him. That's all I got to say. Carry on.

I personally think you are trying to talk yourself into circles here... It's ok to say Bryce played incredible the last 5 weeks... I know there are plenty of people on this board who desperately need the doom-and-gloom narrative, but I genuinely question how much NFL QB play some of these people really have watched when they still question him being the unquestioned starter for next year... Again, that being said, no one is crowning him at all. I think Bryce is one of the best stories going into 2025 bc his season last year was so outlandishly unprecedented. It's totally fair to personally not believe in Bryce. Plenty of sports "journalists" need to write stories, and that's an easy narrative path... But I think that actual people in the know rank Bryce much higher. That's the fun thing about sports... we shall see!

Regardless of how we got here, any rational fan should be excited by how well Bryce played down the stretch. Anyone not happy about that level of play either doesn't know what they're looking at, or they're still trying to drive tired narratives. Obviously, Cam had an all-time rookie season, and I'm not putting the two in the same basket yet, but as someone who has watched every snap of Panthers football since the start of the new millennium (Im old), Bryce was playing at a higher level at the end of 2024 than Cam was at the end of 2012 (his 2nd season). Cam continued to develop into MVP form, something Bryce has to prove, but as someone who watched both (and will stan for Cam always), Bryce was playing at a higher level to end year 2 than Cam did. Go watch the film if you dont believe me. None of that means anything for the future. But the people who said BY9 couldnt play in this league are wrong. That being said, the only thing that matters is this year. #20 is perfectly fair IMO going into the season. I mean think about it, how would you rank him??! His in-season turnaround is one of the wildest things I've ever seen... how do you rank a guy who looked like a massive bust in September and by January was consistently playing at a top 10 level? My excitement level is pretty damn high heading into this season. There were throws from the Chiefs game onward where Bryce had Drew Brees levels of anticipation. Im excited to see what he can do with a full deck on offense, something we really never gave Cam. Really hope and expect Bryce to move up this list this season.

Not really, the only QB's (other than Anthony Richardson) ranked below him are new to their teams as a placeholder starter or drafted in 2024 or 2025, not a lot of gymnastics to get there. It's not about how many that is, if it's 20, 12, or 2... It means there isn't a QB who's team has committed to them for the long term right now that they have ranked below Bryce. That's not a great thing.

The changes to onside kicks were ridiculous and ruined a significant part of the game It was already a high risk low reward play. Why change it?

Odd they aren't even replacing them. They must have really felt they were doing nothing around there. -
I think Bryce should be ahead of Caleb here
-
That's a lot of mental gymnastics. So remove 12 of the 32 on the list and Bryce is last. You are correct.

not starting a new thread. Fox Sports has a top 10 list of QBs with the most to prove in 2025. Which 10 quarterbacks have the most to prove heading into the 2025 NFL season? Bryce Young comes in at #4. Which also seems about right-ish. Got to think this season is essentially going to be the deciding factor over his career here going forward. I'd put him #3. 1. Trevor 2. Richardson 3. Caleb (seems high) 4. Bryce 5. Fields
-
Honestly, the tiers make a lot of sense to me. Glad to see people have finally come to the realization that Darnold and Richardson are fools gold.
-
Yep. Fans want to compete for championships while front office personnel and coaches want to keep their jobs. Paying a JAG starting QB negatively impacts your potential upside to compete for championships but rolling the dice to let him walk to shoot for championships might backfire and cost you your job. This is the big reason why NFL teams are generally so risk adverse. The safe path is the path that will most likely keep you in your job the longest but it also might be limiting your upside to potentially compete for championships.
-
So basically, if you remove 1st and 2nd year QB's not named Jayden Daniels, and remove the vets on new teams who are placeholders until their own rookies take over the job.... The only other QB ranked lower than Bryce is Anthony Richardson, who may not even win the week 1 job in the end anyways. Which means they're ranking him 20th, but really he's the last ranked entrenched starting QB that isn't in their 1st or 2nd season. #Winning

Memoirs of the Cigarette Smoking Man is my favorite episode. Dude is a badass.
-
Yeah it all depends on a lot of factors. How well did Bryce play? Where are we in the draft? Which QB(s) do we love and are they easily attainable? If he is the weak link on offense and we are sitting in the draft with a talented QB on the board then yeah there is a good chance we draft him. There are a lot of variables in that equation though.
