I don’t want to see another high pick put into WR or offense that isn’t OL or QB. At least not again it would make something like 4 years straight if 1st and 2nd round picks spent on the position. Too much to have one player left from all that. So he gets another go at it afaic. If they can bring in someone to compete with him if is undrafted, a FA on a prove it deal, some cheaper route, go for it.

So is this a Bryce issue, a Canales issue, or a non issue?
RJK replied to jb2288's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because Bryce can’t throw a true deep ball. -
The original hope was that he was just raw, and with some coaching he could blossom into a big time playmaker. Turns out he’s not just raw, he’s got no fundamentals or mentals of any kind really. You keep him as long as he’s cheap and try your best to coach him up no matter how futile it may seem. When the time comes you cut him loose.

Facts. But why haven’t they tried to throw a deep ball to Jimmy Horn? -
I think he should get a shot in training camp to earn a spot but I think his ceiling is 2017 Devin Funchess and his floor is out of the NFL as soon as next year
-
I'd be looking real good at the upcoming draft class for a Plan B that only costs us a late round pick or no pick at all. We're already getting a good return with Coker. Even if XL can turn it around, Moore/Renfrow aren't sticking around and so we should pick up another guy anyways.

I'm not exactly comfortable asking O-line combination number 12, 13... whichever one we have next week to pass pro long enough to even attempt more deep shots. Even if we had a prototypical gunslinger QB with a rocket arm, even guys like Coker who has shown great speed often still has a defender draped on him anyways. Seems that we but need dimes for those deep shots to succeed whereas other teams have a larger margin of error. -

I’m not sure Bryce can really uncork a deep ball to a guy like Ginn. I’d be blown away if he starts hitting passes like that. Right now it feels like he’s taken advantage of opportunities that favor him best. They are perfect accurate passes which I love, but I’m not expecting him to throw any bombs like we’ve seen from other QBs. -
The blue line is doing all it can under the circumstances. RBA keeps switching pairings, among other things. Miller has been very good alongside Slavin, not so much alongside Ghost, Chatty and Reilly, all of whom have been paired with him. What do you expect? RBA peaked a couple years ago. Laviolette is available, or go get Cooper or Maurice. Still looking for a 2C. Demote Freddie and roll with Bussi and Kochetkov.

Freddie now owns 9 of Carolina's 14 losses. And I have now been in attendance at 3 home losses in a row.

You guys have improved a lot from last season with Dave as the coach. He’s doing a great job. -
We need to use Legette like SF used Deebo, screw running intricate routes just use him on drags, sweeps, screens and go routes, he’s still our fastest WR.

It’s a pass protection and WR issue. The pass protection is not good, anytime Bryce attempts to throw deep or take a 7 step drop he gets blasted. And our two best WR run 4.58 and 4.57, neither of them were known as burners coming out of college. -
Aho who who.

Does Jerry have anymore 3rds or 4ths...
-
You are genuinely brain dead. It’s actually insane the takes you have. Somehow him chucking it as far as he can (which would be 50-60 yards) just results in all these bucket drop deep throws we’ve been seeing the past week (which have generally been 30-40 yards). Doesn’t have to worry about touch yet they are pure touch throws. You’re actually out of your mind, completely delusional

i dont think you can put horn on the field a bunch. he dont run block like XL.

Any given Sunday. Like I said, I wouldn't consider them a fraud. They're a team that's suffered a lot of injuries. We've been fortunate not to have suffered so many at our skill positions. I'd say the same of any team that suffered a ton of injuries. Whichever WR finished best likely gets OROY but I wouldn't count out Jeanty yet if he puts together 2 great final games. He's done a pretty remarkable job behind that rag tag line in Las Vegas. -
The Blue line is a horrid mess. I know folks like miller. He doesn’t fit what the canes want to do. the blue line is all soft guys.
-
To me, every time he's around the ball it is an adventure. Will he catch it? Juggle then catch? Drop it? Will he get YAC? I thought he was supposed to be a man's man but he goes down like it's two hand tag. I'm afraid he'll run too far out of bounds, hit a cheerleader, then be on IR for a while. Seems like a great guy, someone you'd want to be around - he plays that way too - I think he's having a great time and chooses enjoyment over winning.

They are good team when healthy but the Panthers have beaten the best team in the NFC if not the NFL that might win the Superbowl. The Bucs were out of the game against that same team at halftime. -

He seems to be having them on a rope as of late with the chemistry building. A true deep threat would do wonders for opening up the field for TMac and Coker. And 4.3 speed evidently does not make you a deep threat
