Apparently Panthers had Lemon for a visit. -
There's already a dark cloud. If you peruse other fans comments pretty much anywhere regarding the Hornets you'll always eventually come across someone that points out the obvious that LaMelo Ball is an enabler of domestic violence and Miles Bridges is an abuser. If people are still watching after that then intentionally or unintentionally tripping a Heat player isn't going to move the needle any more or less.
-
This wouldn't happen to Dave Canales after he wrote that book with his wife....right?
-
It was reckless and worthy of a fine by Melo but the internet is acting liked he grabbed Bams by the ankles like Hulk did Loki, give me a break. Ridiculous how many people are convinced it was "obviously intentional" and comparing to Draymond, who got suspended in part because he had a history. Seems like a lot of people are just looking for an excuse to hate on him and Bridges for their behavior off the court. On the other hand it going to be a dark cloud over the rest of the playoffs and maybe LaMelo's career if they don't suspend him so I kinda hope they just get it over with.
-
More than likely it's going to end up a flagrant 1 and a fine. If the league deems it a flagrant 2 and suspends him well after the fact that sets a hell of a precedent and will undoubtedly put the league in a precarious position because you know damn well something else like this will happen in the playoffs. It's a physical game maybe less so than it used to be but still.

Hasn't she talked poo about her husband before too basically calling him an ugly dude? Or was that something made up that I read. More or less said she doesn't post him on social media because he is nothing special to look at
-
I think we've got a problem to be honest. Melo tripped Bam earlier this year too. I got on but I really think they are going to suspend him because it's Charlotte. I wouldn't even be surprised if they wait till after the game today to decide. If Orlando wins he's suspended if Philly wins he's fined

Largely seems like Hornets fans are the few saying LaMelo didn't do anything wrong. I don't personally think there was any malice on his part. But when you watch the clip you can see why someone without the attachment to the team would perceive it the way they do. But they also need the added context of the Heat flopping up and down the court throughout the first half.

Panthers Top 30 Visits and Draft Tracker

Cameron Wolfe: "KC Concepcion, Omar Cooper, Makai Lemon, Chris Brazzell all guys they have had interest in that they have brought in for visits for what I understand." Makai Lemon visited the Panthers? Not sure that's been reported yet. https://x.com/panthersontap/status/2044425573892608238?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA -

when I see his video highlights, I see him hurdling defensive players. Nice, but the NFL will put a stop to that-I see fluff, not top 20. -
Yeah I mean we got mugged all game, at least 20 fouls not called so not surprised if they league takes action on the small market team. It would be their MO. But Detroit has plays like that 10 times a game so not sure? It was a dumb play, but everyone is watching in slowmo but it really was like a quick thing that happened and he DID get his head hit before that (no call btw) and I think Bam was out of bounds too (no call). I think Bam was moving already, Melo isn't that strong of a player to be honest and it didn't look like much effort was put in. Also history should play a part and Melo isn't a dirty player, it's not Draymond we're talking about here. But the NBA is the NBA so

Like their draft room on draft day being some mountainside resort, etc. -
The league is in fact reviewing the bam trip for possible suspension and fine for Lamelo Ball. Just lol

All valid points - I think the team is well positioned to make a deep run with the players they have, my big concern is goalie play, it is buy far the most important element in the playoffs, I assume Freddie will start and do ok for a series or maybe two, does Rod use the tandem approach? If not when Freddie wears down is the Buss going to be ready? And Kooch is the wild card in all this, it's going to be an interesting playoff!!

Yep, I dont care about size or 40 time. Give me a quick shifty receivers who runs good routes and creates space. We seem to prioritize what receivers do once they get the ball in their hands. I want to get a receiver where you prioritize what they do before they catch the ball.

Watching him throughout the game he just looked exhausted. He's had a hell of a rookie season and early on looked like a five year veteran at times. He's a premier young talent. And you know he was disappointed with himself. Every rookie hits this point eventually. He'll adjust. I expect him to bounce back against the Magic/Sixers on Friday.

New season of picks!

What? We made no adjustments to Miami's zone in the 4th Q and went from being up like 10 to down like 5 before the dumbass called a timeout. Also had a chance on multiple possessions late to call a timeout when our offense looked way out of sync and did nothing. I'm happy we won, but it was in spite of coaching. If Coby doesn't hit that ridiculous 3 on a terribly designed in bounds play at the end of the regulation, we lose the game.
-
So happy that LaMelo got the layup to go and *won* the game. How happy he was after the game, that's what a young dude like him needs to keep it going and keep the belief going. If we lose, LaMelo gets blamed, and he's got an offseason to be in his head and hear the noise like the last few years. The season might still have an ugly ending, but weirdly feels like last night was HUGE for this team moving forward.

My thoughts on Carolina's post-season run: Obviously, the season began with a below average Freddie Andersen and everyone hoping Kochetkov would pick up the slack, until he got hurt. Enter Brandon Bussi who had a made-for-TV movie type run until the end of the season, when he came crashing back to earth, his save % drops under .900 and the team needs to score 5-6 goals to win games. Freddie has shown signs of a resurgence and Bussi looked pretty good the last 2 games of the season, but both sample sizes are small and questions abound for all 3 goalies. The physicality of playoff hockey will take its toll. Save for a few players, the Canes best players are small, their top 2 lines are small and there's no getting around that. The only way to protect the size disadvantage is a strong forecheck. Allowing opposing teams to establish the offensive zone and create board battles with smaller players will hurt Carolina. The Stankoven line could be a difference-maker. If they continue to play well against lower defensive pairs, it only adds to the depth of the team. The Aho line had stretches of absenteeism during the season. The Canes cannot afford to have them dry up offensively and leave the scoring to Ehlers and the Stankoven line. If they aren't performing well, teams will simply roll their best lines out on the Canes best playing lines. If the Canes can get by Ottawa and get some help from Boston against Buffalo, I think they have a legit shot to make the finals. Make no mistake, I think their toughest challenges are Ottawa and Buffalo in the East.

Melo apologized and said he had been hit on the head and didn't know where he was at.
-
Him crying like a bitch when melo finally got to the foul line and play had to be paused was a horrible look for him. Should have T'd him up. They got every call all night outside Ball's dirty play and you could argue Bam was about to step on Melos wrist when that happened too and it was more a get off me swipe then I'm trying to trip you. Bam sold it too because that's what the pussy ass heat players are taught to do and then they cry when it doesn't work
-
I don't think it's a rhythm issue for Kon. I think his legs are gone. It's his first NBA season and he's played a ton of minutes and been super important to the team. I'm glad he keeps shooting but I think it's more tired legs than a slump. We will need him if we make the series against Detroit but I think reducing his minutes and playing white and williams more might be the answer.
