It’s ok, Vrabel is apparently skipping the end of the draft for some counseling. Apparently needs a counselor to help him not cheat on his wife. Reminds me of that Bob Newhart sketch from years ago: “STOP IT! That’s all. Just, stop it.”
-
I just see us extending Bryce with a ton of guaranteed money and then I see him sucking in 2026--and then we have to draft a QB in 2027. I guess that is the plan--
-
Yes. CB too-but I doubt Stone Forsythe is going to stop any more than a WalMart greeter.

Literally HBack and slot only. No catches out of inline tight end position. -
Good....now they can start 2027 mocks tomorrow.

Yep. He is raw. But i think when it all shakes out, he’ll be the steal of the tackle group.

Maybe we went 1-1 personnel because we didn’t have a TE worth a damn. -

Or a speedy, burner, shifty WR on day 2.....or day 3. -
Interesting fact - Iheananchor has only been playing ball for 5 years.

Curious about how many slots away would remove people's pause with McD or any other selection (Concepcion, Lomu) that has been mocked later than our selection. This isn't just directed at you either, I see a lot of people (myself included) saying they wouldn't take palyer X at our spot. However, if it were at pick XX, then yes, let's take him. I also see every year a team that "overdrafts" someone on that night, only to find a franchise building block down the line. Seattle does it a lot. If a guy is exactly what your team needs and he's, say, 6-8 picks away from being graded/mocked, I don't see the issue. If we're talking about taking a guy like Christen Miller at 19....okay, I get it. McDonald would unlock so much on our defense up front and lighten DB's workload on the interior. Looking at so many site's and media's "team needs" for us, and rarely (if ever) is IDL on that list. A'Shawn's departure and the lack of depth on our roster is rough. I know Turk is here, but I don't believe well run franchises pass on a first round DL because of a guy like Wharton.

I am not sure there is a position, including QB, where losing a starter leads to the kind of drop off we would see at either T position. Maybe If Mr Brown went down, or Lloyd.
-
He might be better than four or five guys. Which I never thought I would say with a straight face. But they are just bad. QBs in general are bad. You cannot find 32 decent ones.
-
I fully expect Iheanachor to go first round. I agree that McNeil-Warren may translate to SS in the pros. But he did play in a 2 high def. as far as Sadiq goes. Not my top choice. But I wouldn’t be angry about it. He’s different than any TE on our roster and if the offense gets creative he can be a versatile weapon.

Carolina is in 1-1 personnel 65% of the time. A third WR is as important as the #1 TE. If they don't go WR early (and they're BPA), then they must have a lot of faith in Metchie. -

I want to enjoy the night …and hope they pick someone who makes them better, has no injury issues, no history with courts and bad behavior if it is first rd play maker, offense or defense, i want a 3 down player, not a gadget it is christmas in April. I dont want this main pick in rd 1 to be socks and underwear …plenty of time for utilitarian -

"last best season", meaning they didn't go somewhere else after here and do better. Old man Moore and older man Thielen probably wouldn't have played much on many more rosters at that point in their careers. -
I'm soo excited

Yeah, also watching Diddy say "I need you inside right now!" Hits different.

If you put all the coaches and GM's in a room in the NFL not one would mention BY as anything viable at QB... They are all rolling on the floor laughing at us....Morgan, Canales and Tillis are towing the line for Dipper but deep down they know BY sucks....

The best argument for drafting an OT is this: Ickey was not that great--he was average at best and that means he is likely to be below average for at least a while. Ickey needs to be moved to G. Walker is average at best--and Moton is old and on a bad wheel. I do not think they will draft a T, but I definitely see it. I think Morgan thinks, "I have 2 starters now. depth later in the draft." With so many needs (Nickel, S, DE/DT, ILB, TE, Z WR, C, etc) we can only expect to fill 2 starting spots in the draft--maybe 3-- tops. So i f you draft a guy who might not play much in the first, you are really looking at 1-2 starters. Where do we need starters? ILB, DT/DE, S, and arguably WR. Despite all this, I would totally understand OT in the first round due to the long term prognosis and the possible short term need.

Oh poo. I didn’t realize he would be out of the backfield. That plays right into Bryce’s little passing chart and skill set. Dammit. Now I’m torn. I had him pictured as a line up on the LOS typical TE. Still rather have a RB doing that type of thing. -
BOLD TAKE: Panthers will draft Jacob Rodriguez @19
Stuart Smith replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am past the point of trying to guess who the panthers will pick. What I do want mis for our first and 2nd round picks to be contributing to our roster in the first year. I just do not want us to “miss” on these picks. -

I hope we go another direction. Not a huge Sadiq fan personally. -
My prediction: We trade up for LB Sonny Styles or draft WR Omar Cooper Jr. in the 1st.
