  1. Past hour
  2. So, you never make been wrong about a player? Could you tell Mike Jackson was going to be this good for us based on his play for Seattle? Are you batting 1000% in picking where players are drafted? My eyes told me that Bryce threw the ball into the stands on the 4th down inside the red zone against the Jags. It looked like a horrible mistake and he panicked but then in the press conference after the game Canales admitted that the receiver ran the wrong route and Bryce was throwing to the back pylon. Your eyes (and humans in general) are one of the very worst sources for reality. It's in our nature. Even my cousin Vinny knows that.
  3. Bryce Young was billed as a generational talent before the draft. It is not up for debate that in the NFL much more often than not he lacks big play ability in general. We have seen a few instances here and there but the problem is that has only come when he has had really great protection across entire games. And he needs that in order to both see the field but also attempt those downfield passes. He has to put everything into it because he lacks those physical tools. He can't just flick a pass deep off his back foot or off balance to say the least. At this point I do not care what Bryce does or doesn't do the rest of the season. This has nothing to do with personal feelings or how nice someone is. This is about what is best for the team. If we are a serious franchise we will bring in another young quarterback from the upcoming draft and let him and Bryce duke it out in camp. That's all there is to it.
  4. Ugh, I'd want to hear almost anything other than calf injuries these days, always seems like those tend to lead to Achilles issues lately (knock on wood)
  5. It makes sense but as a kid it was the coolest crossover ever. X-men vs street fighter level cool
  6. Hmm let's see. Listen to a random graph or believe my own eyes which show poor ball placement and way too many 50/50 balls across 30+ career starts. Also I've lost count how many passes I've seen Bryce throw downfield to the sideline that were heading out of bounds and the receiver had to make an acrobatic move just to attempt to haul it in. But more often than not that throw has been an incompletion. BTW it's also not lost on me that the biggest general team fluffers here will waste absolutely no time in switching that up and throwing anyone necessary under the bus in order to prop up #9.
  7. I was never comparing Brady to Bryce. I used his first year stat for YPA to show it's a stupid comparison because Brady only had 1 pass for 6 yards in his rookie year. It was a clear example of my point (at least for some people), that taking a single stat and using that to say player A was better than player B. Further, the original discussion was my claim that many people do expect Bryce to be more like Cam in terms of success for a 1st overall pick and that where a player is drafted ultimately doesn't matter. You must have forgotten to take your meds as you responded with YPA of Clausen and Ward which has nothing at all, whatsoever, to do with fans expectation of a player solely due to his draft slot. And yet, you continue to throw random stats to continue a separate conversation that doesn't exist. I go to great lengths to try to be accurate. That's is why it's always been my argument that Bryce with Canales as his head coach and actual weapons around him, should be given the time to grow and improve. If he succeeds and shows he can be a franchise QB then he'll earn an extension. If not, he won't be here and I have no issue with that. It's very possible that he will end up a career back up but no one should make that declaration after 13 games. Even if you don't agree, which is fine, I think you could actually understand why I feel that way. It's not a hard case to make that his first year included horrible coaching, oline, surrounding talent, defense, or run solid run game. No one should or could be accurately judged in those circumstances. That doesn't mean you might not turn out to be right and it doesn't mean I don't think Bryce had a ton of things to work on. He does but I'm not so myopic in my thinking that I also can't see what he has done well and what skills he brings to the position.
  8. I’m convinced there is a better linebacker everywhere, on this board, working at Walmart, at your house, maybe even your wife…..BUT even though he has missed some tackles, he has on occasion been in the way of opposing offenses and has maybe altered a few run lanes/routes. This is an improvement from 2024 Panthers linebacking.
  9. Get the young guys to start holding on to some of those deep passes (at a catchable rate on par with the best at the moment, in spite of the misinfo some fans like to spread to keep their agenda going) and those yards per play jump.
  10. Lmao he left because the team didn’t want him wrestling and playing football at the same time which you know fair. I’m positive I watched slamboree in 1997.
  11. You nailed it. It's a tired theme. Moore is on the team because he doesn't miss assignments. Bottom of the roster guys like that are how you win games.
  12. Jake is in my Hall of Fame and he’ll have to settle for that. Smitty deserves it on talent and what he did for his team (not to his teammates). I am not feeling Smitty making it this year. Luke should be a first ballot IMO.
  13. I mean he’s only playing because there’s no one else. He’s trying hard out there, he’s just hitting the wall. Obviously they need an upgrade there, but at least there’s effort. Hes a good special teams guy.
  14. He's terrible. He's less terrible when you're relying on him to be the worst player on the field and you can try to compensate for that. He's more terrible when you're relying on him to be a key component of your LB corps.
  15. Today
  16. oh boy. Where to start or should I even bother…. Objectivity? Credibility? Where do I get certified like you are? I didn’t even look at those videos so no surprise. I didn’t need to look at more videos to know what his deal is. This is as simple as it gets. You look at his tape in college and at his pro day and the initial tape of his disastrous debut and it is all over the video. The things I talked about. Then you look at Canales last year and he had him doing proper footwork. You could see that he was doing it in the Buffalo drive in that preseason game. But Bryce abandoned that footwork in his first game against the Saints by the start of Quarter 2. It is on video for all to see. Regression to the comfortable. And the horrible. All I said is true, period. He just does not have the arm for many all arm throws and he certainly can’t stand flat footed and compete for velocity and distance with the guys that do have that kind of arm. He can only get his top velocity with the proper footwork and I have been preaching that since year one. . The message hasn’t changed. And that is HIS top velocity. Cam had a fastball. Bryce has off speed compared to that. To really sling one he has to max effort the throw. If you don’t want to acknowledge that throwing with max effort is less accurate than taking a little off, and seeing how that fits into the whole picture, maybe you lack objectivity and credibility.
  17. https://x.com/adamschefter/status/1970936428231373052?s=46 just due to how limby he is, soft tissue injuries are always going to be a concern for him. also more than hamstrings, calves are something you have to be REALLY careful. I assume if the panthers have done anything right they’ve got those kinesthesiolopy gait analysis dudes keeping a close eye on him.
  18. Stupid decisions and impulsive moves like the trade up to #1 and the subsequent moves that have been made to justify it have created the circumstances we see now in what had always been a strength for us. If we had been building intelligently and methodically from the jump we would be in such better shape across the board.
  19. He has to earn it first!
  20. There has to be one ILB that is available for a trade.
  21. The good thing is there will be options. I got a chuckle out of us going wide receiver at 5 in that mock draft.
  22. Renfrow and Brycen are getting trucked when blocking, that is why David Moore is playing. Those two got to get stronger. I know AT isn't doing anything in Minnesota but he at least was a serviceable blocker. Renfrow will probably shine later in the season when he gets back into playing shape
