  1. Past hour
  2. But we are irrational. This type of constant unrelenting pushback has only abated when Bryce got benched. And some the first two games this year. If he reaches mediocre to average play here it comes again.
  3. Athan K QB for Rutgers continues to look good
  4. First time seeing Maiava…he looks pretty damn good today.
  5. When you have to respect a QB’s arm it’s amazing what it does for the rest of the offense, especially the run game
  6. When you're preparing for Bryce Young at QB it provides the opportunity to spend two hours looking at a kickoff.
  7. Kick off's have gotten some folks attention. Through three weeks, Carolina has limited their opponents to the lowest average starting field position. And that's a testament to the work of Fitzgerald, special teams coordinator Tracy Smith and the speedy coverage unit. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel admitted earlier this week that he spent two hours of his Tuesday night watching just the Panthers' kickoffs. We'll see if they can keep Vrabel up for even longer after Sunday.
  8. I love Makai Lemon from USC. Would be the perfect WR for Bryce Young. Crafty route runner with explosion. Whoever drafts him is going to get a good one.
  9. Meh. I'm as iffy on Dave Canales as anyone. But it's too early to tell anything either way. Some coaches have started out hot and fizzled over time. Some have started out not so hot and figured it out over time. Then a very select number of others have managed to maintain and stay there. Much of this just boils down to plain luck and circumstances. Revisit this at the end of the year.
  10. If it's not specifically against the rules then it's not cheating. If you're not pushing the limits of the rules then you're putting yourself at a competitive disadvantage.
  11. I didnt list Addison because while he's picked up some when JJ was out, he hasn't been consistent as an established WR2. I had CD and Pickens listed QJ is leading LAC right now but its only been 3 games and so far, this is more an anomaly in his career than the norm, but that can obviously change if he keeps it up throughout the season. Godwin is supposed to play this weekend so we'll see what that does for Egbuka, but TB does have a 1/2 punch already in the list. Buffalo is always an anomaly because you can never figure out what the hell Josh Allen is going to do. But if I had to say Keon or Shakir is the clear number 1, I dont think I could argue it either way because it's week to week, unlike when Diggs was there. The point i was making is that there's only 10-12 teams out of 32 that you can argue have clearly defined WR1 and 2 week in and week out. Most teams don't and to suggest thats the reason Bryce can't be successful when other QBs are is disingenuous. There are problems in this offense. Bryce and his limitations are part of them. Dave's offense is part of them. Im not so sure that there is this massive talent gap between us and the other 31 NFL teams on offense, and if there is, heads need to roll considering how much has been spent on offense.
  12. I gotta say our ST deserves some kudos. Tracy Smith has put together a nice lil squad. I was watching this video earlier and it's noted how we've been attacking teams. Gotta love that effort and conditioning. Right around the 5 min mark after Vrabel says he studied our "dirty kick" for about two hours last night while getting ready for Sunday's game. Ransom, Bam Martin, Tremayne, Incoom,Dalevon Campbell, etc have all looked impressive on coverage at times this season. It's early but Fitzgerald was also great pickup for Dan, especially being a UDFA rookie. Kudos to Martin and JJ as well. All we're missing is a reliable returner with speed. Hopefully Etienne/Dowdle/Horn will turn into our version of Ginn this season. Side note: Give the assistant ST coach a permanent seat on our sideline..we need Darren Bates with that type energy.
  13. Sometimes the other team is simply abysmally bad on any given Sunday the Panthers have had their share of those and i suspect will have more do 30 to 0 against a top 12 team, and that will be impressive
  14. Wilks was never going to get the job in the first place. Tepper had a hard on for what we have now, and obviously he was a visionary lol. Wilks didn’t fit his profile. Wilks may have had trouble putting together a good staff for 2023, honestly, but what he did in his 12 games was done without any of his people, and a short handed staff. He did a great job overall in tough circumstances. Said before, I never was wowed on him as a DC, he fit better at the top, like a highly motivating administrator or something. It is strange but people have these niches that they can excel in, certain jobs or skills. I think that leadership thing is his. And being a DB position coach, he was really good at that for us.
  15. https://ftw.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2015/09/13/ted-ginn-dropped-the-easiest-wide-open-touchdown-pass/82002251007/ I must say looking at the level of perfection we expect from our WR's present day it is interesting going back and reminiscing. Ted Ginn Jr was often one of the most frustrating players to watch. He often had some unbelievable drops. And not contested catches either. Just flat out him whiffing on open passes that were thrown on a rope from Cam Newton. And Cam Newton kept going back to him. It made them both better. In the end Newton revitalized Ginn's career. That's what you expect from a first overall pick.
  16. Today
  17. I like Wilks the person but he just isn't it as a coach. I don't necessarily like it either but what are ya gonna do? He's basically a poor man's Ron Rivera and that's being kind. Wilks had a couple nice wins but then he got the doors blown off by the Bengals and then he lost to a rebuilding mediocre at best Steelers team starting Mitch Trubisky in BOA stadium. Those were two things you just can't do. Losing to to Brady with the Bucs didn't help but I wasn't necessarily surprised by that outcome. I cannot say what would have transpired if we decided to make him the head coach going forward. But he probably would have gotten axed too looking at how our ownership has been so meddlesome. Either way it's over and done with. You gotta move on man.
  18. I think Stew was underrated. I think Chuba is about properly rated. And I don't mean that as a knock; he gets it done and I won’t criticize him. I never liked Stew’s chronic foot or ankle issues but he was a load. I think I would take Stew in a close call.
  19. I feel like the league is forcing this globetrotting - which I do not like fwiw - but they have so much money why the hell don’t they just provide two planes for teams to make the trip on? They wouldn’t even miss he money.
  20. Yeah at this point some of the counter arguments in response to very real issues with Bryce Young that we have all seen with our own eyes are akin to someone believing the earth is flat. You're just never going to get through to someone like that.
  21. Some more with current injuries, but solid WR1/2 combos IF healthy: Jefferson/Addison Lamb/Pickens Aiyuk/Pearsal Also, Egbuka seems to be taking over for Godwin. Quentin Johnson is leading LAC’s in receiving right now. If Franklin develops, he’s likely a better WR2 than XL. If Allen didn’t love TEs and run a lot, Coleman and Shakir could be solid. Just not enough WR balls. Shakir did have 800+ last year in 15 games but Coleman’s eating into that.
  22. Yeah, he's a perfect college QB and big part of that is him being a highly effective QB who doesn't have the skill set that NFL teams clamor for so you don't have to worry about him going pro early. You're going to get all four years out of a guy like that.
  23. You seem to be playing some semantics/technicality argument… he literally posted a video declaring Bryce had A++ arm strength with the visual spelling that out. One step below S tier (which is where a Favre would be). It’s literally the opening statement made in the post. Then it talks about what gets in the way of him always achieving that A++ arm lol.
  24. Yeah, flying an NFL team coach is just stupid. These are huge people and the team owners have massive resources. It's a good investment in your product to have your team flying comfortably.
  25. I agree lol and they are being cheap
