Something I noticed when researching Mello Dotson
XClown1986 replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dotson seems more like a safety to me. I think he could be a solid Cover 2 corner or robber type because of his size, vision, and ball skills. He's just a bit slow. He kind of reminds me of Roman Harper. But Dotson would have to become a much better tackler to play safety full time. - Yesterday

For those thinking Renfrow isn't making the team...Ha!
cmichd08 replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think he won't stay on the PS for long if they put him there. They got to find a place for him. -
I'd throw in Kobe Hudson as well. He WILL make this team... practice squad at the worse. Yea it's early but I think Richardson has been better than expected and the team has a plan in place for Smith Wade at corner & safety. I also think Ransom has the range and speed to be a FS although he might be better closer to the LOS.

Trade for Micah Parsons

Surprise! Kon looks really bad!

Yay, the face is always on the bench in street clothes. -
Wasn't aware we released Barno.. I had hopes he would develop as that speed would have been a game changer.

To add on - One of our UDFA's that I think will make the 53: 4. Luke Kandra, Cincinnati Kandra's athleticism and measured approach to the game give him the floor of a solid zone scheme backup and an average starter's ceiling. The end result will depend on his ability to play with better pad level and flexibility. -

Yep. I've pointed it out numerous times. Our VP of Analytics basically had that same role for PFF. -
JJ Weaver will be on of our starting lb's. https://www.panthers.com/news/panthers-switch-up-outside-linebackers-jj-weaver?fbclid=IwY2xjawLw5tBleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETE1MG0wZEhBcGp0UnRCOE5JAR73M8EgNCoddtP6vs2NhmW9nVeh9SIvMUgtndhJ1rfZVUeTSR7cidEFaRYRdw_aem_HdlH0HnAuYptR0ivwI7mHQ Well, you never know.

Bear Hands started following Kicker & Punter

This hasn't got much attention. I can usually, quickly name these guys and all I knew this year is we picked up the FSU kid. He was a top college kicker but a UDFA and was competing with an older FA pickup (and forgot who). So here it is: Kickers: Matthew Wright - Age 30 He has changed teams every season of his career. Even more than per season, 8 teams since 2020. But volume was low, 7-11 career over 50 yards https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/3128444/matthew-wright Ryan Fitzgerald - Rookie Final 2 seasons of school was 115/116 on XPs, 32/34 FGs. Hit (6) over 50 last season including a 59. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4568263/ryan-fitzgerald It seems Wright is in front from camp stuff coming out, but I hope we give Fitzgerald a clear shot. Don't see Wright as a remotely long term or trusting option. Punter: Sam Martin - Age 35 https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/15928/sam-martin Averaged in the 22-26th-ish rank last season as the punter for the Bills. Though looking more advanced, he was good at pinning opponents near their own endzone with a higher inside 20 yl % Interested to gauge how we all think of this situation. It's harder to get too in depth here, but we've been used to Hekker and some decent kickers (Kasay, Gano, Tattooboy).

We shouldn't "want" to trade LaMelo. It's basically in his hands. My view of the situation is the Hornets are basically letting LaMelo control his own destiny this season. He will either dial in and do everything he needs to do in order to stay on the basketball court and help this team compete for the playoffs. Or he will run it back with the same old same old and they will give the young guys the keys.
-
This might apply to some other teams but I don’t see it for our Panthers. We've started out sluggish or horrific the last 2 seasons. While we don’t need to "win" in preseason we certainly need reps and to look fairly competent. This team cannot have anymore of these flat out ass whoopings when the season opener finally rolls around. And unfortunately that's been the norm the last few seasons.

Yes, the OP mentions him - Eric Eager. He was head of R&D for PFF -
Just doing the simple math with this year's cap of 114m that's 3rd liner money..... If he never improves its a fair deal.... if he is a middle 6 50 point guy it's a steal.
-
I hadn't realized that ban hadn't kicked in yet. Nice it's a small risk for what I think will be a steal of a contract by year #3 And this if anything INCREASES his value as a trade piece....
-
Eeeh I wouldnt go that far.... He's our #1 RHD though.... And I sure wouldn't trade his defense (which we missed sorely when he was out) for Karlsons offense.
-
Lamelo is a superstar and the face of the franchise. No way am I trading him
