  1. Past hour
  2. I hope not. I was a big fan of Bradberry but he's cooked. He was never the twitchiest, fastest guy and he's lost a couple steps he couldn't afford to lose.
  3. Yea let's just get to top 16 and go from there
  4. He will be 32 oct of next year. And the choice as of now is play him at this current contract for this season, see how he plays and then decide to opt out, restructure or keep playing on the existing deal. I see only 1 of those options viable, opt out after 2025 no matter how he plays and then try and resign him. But by all accounts he is a headcase currently eye balling his 5th team. Why would he want to come here initially and why would he resign here if we opted out of his deal?
  5. not sure if anyone saw this, but teams are asking about Kyle Pitts. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/kyle-pitts-landing-spots-cowboys-giants-among-potential-2025-fits-with-falcons-reportedly-open-to-trading-te/ also, the falcons winning season drought has been as long as ours.
  6. Money matters, and six figures, especially doubled, is a big deal for most of these kids. If invested correctly, it can set them up for a comfortable retirement in later years.
  7. Today
  8. both had a common theme though (loudly discussed here going into both seasons), unusually light work going into both seasons given what he was..... again, Mahomes, Allen, etc were getting more preseason reps than Young. I hope Canales plays him a lot in this preseason. 3 good NFL games vs the rest of his resume shouldn't put him in the light work tier he has been going into prior seasons with
  9. Rookie season? He had zero MFL experience and bad coaching Season 2? He took the off-season off to hang w/ family and friends and play video games and not think football. Plus, getting used to a New coach But Dave knew what he was doing. Sat Bryce down, worked on fundamentals (footwork, timing), designed plays that worked with Bryces style and abilities. Was a different Bryce coming off the bench. Everybody saw the improvements This past off-season? Bryce was working with TMac before the draft even happened. More football-focused. Head is in the game it seems I dont think Bryce will be as slow as starter this coming season as qe saw in yr 1 and 2.
  10. First off you don’t “redo deals” if you extend someone you can spread out their cap hit, which is something Morgan and company has don’t repeatedly; along with every other 31 front offices. Also I’m getting very confused why you continually refer to him as a 32 year old corner and reference him as a one year rental. By your logic he would play next season at 31, then atleast one more season at 32. So by your own logic he is at minimum a two year starting corner. Listen if reports came out the Dolphins were trying to get first or second round pick I would be completely against it. But by all accounts the Dolphins are in a vulnerable cap situation and need to offload some players to stay under the cap and it’s rumored the asking price for Jalen is only around a 3rd. Research suggests the average third round pick career length is 3 years, and even basing it off your own logic we could have a top 15 corner for a minimum of two seasons. You do that deal all damn day man, every move every aspect of roster construction is a risk but this is a pretty reasonable risk to take man.
  11. sure, but in reality, it was just a don't do anything to screw this up game. Backup QB caliber gameplan and ideal execution of that script. Which is great. You need that. You often need that a lot in games. But that's all that game was. post benching, we were still a bottom tier pass attack and Bryce had below average production as a NFL QB post benching overall. What he did have was one of the most glaring improvements from one year to the other we have seen. The top 10ish stuff is just where I start calling the over the top stuff what I think it is. It's a unique PFF argument. No an argument that is supported by PFF
  12. Richardson looked pretty last year, especially as a UDFA, and I like Ransom's potential. BUT, I would love to bring in a Safety with a little more experience. Either Blackmon or Williams would be a great get and allow our youngsters time to mature.
  13. In your scenario for all this to work is for him to not only play like a top 10ish corner and assuming he would redo his original deal if we didnt want to out right cut him. Yeah man I dont think extending a 32 year old corner is in our cards especially when the average age of a nfl corner is 27. That just doesnt make sense no matter how well one thinks he is playing. All in all like you say its all assumptions and hypotheticals but I really dont see morgan doing this after everything he has said and done about bad contracts
  14. So under that scenario the panthers would void the deal after 2025 season and he could simply walk. Seems like a pricey gamble for a 4rth or 5th round pick. And thats not even considering we cant afford him status quo.
  15. Good read overall, I like the author's spin on things and it is a nice overall recap going into preseason (I was out of the country and didn't follow other teams, drafts). My favorite Falcons quote from the article (after trading 2026 1st round pick for Pearce): "The Falcons might also struggle even with Pearce on the roster, which could end up with them sending a top-10 pick to the Rams next year, making the price even more dramatic. The Falcons will have needs next year, and the year after that, and the year after that. Compounding future draft capital to get one guy right now is a risky bet that doesn't pay off as often as teams would like. The logic of "If it works, who cares?" sounds great, but it isn't a smart use of resources. Nobody cares if you spent your paycheck on lottery tickets if you win the lottery, but that doesn't mean it's the correct way for you to use what you have. There are scenarios in which making that sort of plunge makes sense -- going after a potential franchise quarterback or using a small amount of capital to move up a few spots within a round -- but this seems more desperate than calculated." Fontenot is mortgaging the team's future to save his job today! That's just bad football.
  16. one of the songs when it comes on one of my pandora feeds i keep hitting repeat on.
  17. i love these guys. so fun to watch. that guy on the hand percussion is insane. just a weird and interesting texture of sounds and influences they've got going on. someone said it is what a James Bond film would be like if Quentin Tarrintino was controlling the music.
  18. Hard to know if he’s expecting that kinda crazy money on his next contract. I don’t think any team is paying him that again. If he is then I absolutely wouldn’t. IF it’s more reasonable and they’re confident they can agree on extension it starts making sense. Even moreso if he’s open to playing some FS. I doubt it happens but if it does I’d really hope that’s the case
  19. I don't think the stat sheet is why Bryce was good in the AZ game. I don't think it's some incredible performance either, but it was a good game from a QB. He was much weaker in the 2nd half, but he moved the ball pretty well, and was effective in the red zone. He used his legs very well too. Philly was not a great game for him though. Lots of bad throws, but a few great ones (including the drop, lol) I'd say that since returning from benching he was on the low end of a top 10 QB. He needs to continue to improve and show consistency within and between games.
  20. sure, I mean, rental win now guys are good. but what we needed to be doing, was developing and trying to find a young DB to play across Horn. Because we weren't a win now team.
  21. I just don't think the team has to take a swing on an expensive CB unless Horn is already hurt or if JR will play free safety in that black hole of tallent at thst position. It would be a terrible sign if they spend draft capital on buying an older and expensive CB, anything before a 6th really. This team is trying to hit .500 for the first time in years and still wouldn't be a contender with JR on the roster. They have 2 good CBs and the young guys have to step up or this build is going nowhere.
  22. Respectfully man I think you’re making a lot of assumptions, granted this whole situation is a total hypothetical. I get where you’re coming from, paying an older corner is not always ideal. But my simplest rebuttal would be any sort of extension would likely buffer that $25 million. And at the same time if he was extended it would likely mean he’s still playing at an elite level, which he is currently playing at. Along with the fact even worst case scenario he walks, we would likely recoup a similarly equivalent comp pick in the next years draft. Trading for Jalen would be an educated risk, personally I lean towards I think it would make sense. Due to the fact that we still have Bryce on his rookie deal and it gives us the flexibility to be a bit more aggressive with roster construction. And I view CB as probably our second biggest weakness outside of Safety currently.
  23. Haven't seen the Canes yet, but I used to go to the Ice Caps minor league games in college. I'm pretty sure my 20 year old redneck self sounded just like that at my first game! XL is becoming a social media phenom! When can we we schedule him an interview with Randy Moss?
  24. An impact player coming in may be correct, but I heard nothing in that feed to indicate it. just my opinion and I’m often wrong though
