  1. Yeah the whole guessing the play thing is his schtick and it gets old. Olsen comes off as much more natural, like just a knowledgable football mind watching along.
  2. He’s been the sticking point in negotiations I’m pretty sure. I think that’s why Rozier to the Lakers didn’t go through. We’d have to bundle in LaMelo for someone to take Gordon off us now.
  3. You notice that your colleague Mary is wearing a well fitting pair of denim pants. Which of the following statements are an appropriate response? (Mark all that apply.) A.) "Show me how you wiggle to get those jeans up." B.) "I bet you lay down on your bed to fit in those jeans." C.) "Did you step into those jeans or did you have to jump into them?" D.) None of the above
  4. Payton is the most anti-Rhule hire Tepper could pull off right now so I have no doubt he's all in. That alone makes Carolina more appealing than any of the others.
  5. I didn't even see this just sit him for the year
  6. site glitching out
  7. At what point should we be worried
  8. Our esteemed head coach quit and our locker room leader caught a felony all within two weeks of the draft. If Miles got arrested a week earlier Jalen Duren would probably be on the team rn. I know it's convenient to blame all of the Hornets misfortunes on Jordan but the reality is this season was doomed before it started beyond anyone's control. They were right to move on from JB when he did and Clifford's the best (maybe the only) option they could get last minute when Atkinson flaked. It's not enough but Cliff is playing the young guys more than Borrego did and is working with less.
  9. @frankw you're not wrong but glossing over San Franciso's success after the trade while pointing to ours is where you lose me. Our success since the trade is just proof that we're stuck in an ancient offensive scheme not that CMC is overrated. This team is conservative to it's core and tried to fit a non-traditional player into a traditional bellcow RB role. He's an undersized back on a team with a weak offensive line and they were treating him like Le'Veon Ball. He's underwhelming and not worth big money in that role. They correctly recognized his talent was worth it but wrongly bet on the coaching figuring how to make him work for us. The organization is trying to evolve now on the coaching end and the o-line is much better. With luck, the next regime will be the type that could actually take advantage of a player like CMC but it probably would have been too late had he stuck around. It was good for both sides that we parted ways when we did.
  10. Glad we got something back for him in the end but the way this team squanders talent is taking a toll on my fandom ngl.
  11. Richardson will fall to us unless he has an awesome combine. They’ll have to trade up if they want Young, Stroud, or Levis.
  12. This thread stiiiiiiiiinks. The kid is 21 and the whole team plays better when he’s distributing. Prime Steph or KD on wouldn’t make this group into contenders but you’re ready to write off the most talented player in the team’s history? Because he can’t Lebron a bottom barrel squad into the Finals singlehandedly? Good grief.
  13. What does "full control" entail really and how is that any different than just having a GM on HC on the same page? Rivera and Fox weren't considered those sort of guys that but did Hurney ever block them from doing anything? We don't exactly have a football brain trust to protect in Carolina. Either we bring in a coach and give them the power to rebuild the place or find someone who basically just acts on Fitterer's behalf and no accomplished coach is going to agree to that.
  14. https://sports.yahoo.com/hornets-deny-contract-negotiations-with-miles-bridges-after-his-domestic-violence-arrest-232208370.html Source is a brief statement from the team in an Observer opinion piece: Did Klutch Sports leak false info to Woj for leverage or is the team reversing course after the reaction? Good news either way.
  15. I might be giving players the benefit of doubt but I feel like there's a development window a lot of young guys have, and if it's missed due to bad coaching or whatever they get stunted badly in the NFL. I hope that's not the case for Terrace but it's looking like that way
  16. I disagree but that's because I don't really count Darnold's first stint for various reasons. DA throwing a pick on the opening play is pretty low. Darnold had a couple of genuine dimes and even a Newtonian escape from pressure yesterday.
  17. Darnold solidified himself as the veteran/backup/stopgap for me. He's like a notch above Derek Anderson. He can't carry but he's an effective game manager when the pass protection holds up.
  18. Wilks deserves consideration, maybe even to be the default choice if we aren't impressed with anyone else, but I think he lost the job not being able to contain Evans. The secondary is supposed to be his bag and he dropped it. If he doesn't have great offensive or defensive prowess he's just a respected locker room personality.
  19. Being emotionally invested but only finding joy in winning is an unhealthy way to be a sports fan.
  20. Complications with my daughter's birth in 2020 led to her having a stroke only a few weeks old and almost losing her. I learned to take nothing in life for granted. Cherish all the joys life brings because they aren't guaranteed and they can be taken away from you at anytime. The Panthers are a trivial one in the grand scheme of it all. If watching football and following this team through thick and thin doesn't entertain you there's better uses of your time.
  21. Time to see whether Sam can keep his cool or if the ghosts come back
  22. It’s mostly for the events. For the soccer team it’s only about the aesthetic of faded lines, it’s not a big deal. Richest owner in the league just needs to stop being cheap.
  23. I thought we all hated the turf we should be celebrating this. Unless there’s some sort of mandated upkeep the team neglected they wouldn’t have filed a grievance over grass being too hard.
