I mean you pulled up a statistic from AFTER the Panthers traded for him LOL. Like I said, hindsight is 20/20.

Rhule says giving CMC fewer reps at RB diminishes his value
hepcat replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Actually, I think he is. The best ability is availability. And McCaffrey hasn't been available too damn much the last two seasons. If playing him in the slot allows him to be more available and keep him healthier, it's the right call. And if Christian doesn't like it, he can pound sand. When you are hurt for the better part of two straight seasons, you have to change something.- 83 replies

Rhule: Sam Darnold will take a huge step this year
hepcat replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Haha I was about to say the same thing. They're stuck with Darnold, for better or worse, most likely worse. They just need to do what they didn't do last year and that's have him compete with either a veteran or a rookie QB for the starting job. -
Hindsight is 20/20. Darnold was playing under Adam Gase and there were a lot of teams that were willing to take a chance on him. The 49ers were rumored to have offered a 1st round pick for him (who knows if that is true). The Panthers did pay a little bit of a steep price, maybe a 3rd would have felt a little better, but I didn't and still don't disagree with taking a chance on Darnold. What I really disagree with was picking up his 5th year option without him playing a down for the team. And also passing on Justin Fields or Mac Jones. Having Darnold battle it out with a rookie was the right call. I have to think Joe Brady's amateur-esque offense had a hand in not drafting a rookie QB. A rookie needs development and Joe Brady's offense wasn't flexible enough to cater to a rookie. Who knows how well McAdoo will do developing a QB, but he can't be any more reluctant or inexperienced than Joe Brady was.

I think Tepper and Rhule have eating contests on the weekends and he's too gassy to have a press conference. Or so I like to think to myself because I like making fun of rich people.

Trading for Darnold was not a bad idea. Picking up his 5th year option was a HORRENDOUS idea.

Garoppolo is way better than Darnold. San Fran sucked before he got there even with Shanahan

Everyone saying “not interested” must be down with seeing Sam Darnold lose double digit games again, or overdraft a Teddy Bridgewater clone because the coach recruited him out of high school. Yea we don’t want to sign a guy who has played in the Super Bowl and was in the NFC Championship last year. Nah. Let’s not even consider it. Even if he was a reasonable contract and not giving up any assets to do it. Wow what a horrible idea that would be. I’d much rather have Sam Darnold!!!! Because I like rooting for losers.

https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/49ers/nfl-rumors-jimmy-garoppolo-might-have-be-cut-not-traded-49ers?amp I am down to sign him for a reasonable contract if this happens.

Watch them trade down and they’re all gone lol
-
Teddy Bridgewater 2.0 yay
-
lol bookies trying to get dumb people to bet on that
-
Better QB prospects next year to start.

oh lawd is this a joke
-
As depth, it's a fine signing. Burris knows the scheme but is too injury prone to be a starter.

Trading for Sam Darnold in the first place wasn’t a horrible idea. Picking up his option was so f*cking stupid. No one wants him. He costs $19m and he sucks. It’s a Brock Osweiler type trade. The Panthers are trading away an asset for cap space. Then whoever receives Darnold would cut him most likely.

Watson not out of woods yet - 2nd grand jury
hepcat replied to FugginPoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
If Houston ownership had any influence, it explains why his first criminal charges were thrown out. Then he was able to be traded. And now, new charges are IMMEDIATELY being discussed. Something doesn’t add up. The accusers crazy-ass wildcard lawyer Tony Buzbee and the McNair’s live in the same neighborhood. The way this whole situation unfolded is extremely sketchy to me. I’ve got some friends in Houston who have followed this and they all think the Texans ownership wanted Watson out by any means necessary after these allegations started bubbling up. And the team probably knew about the allegations LONG before it became public knowledge. The fact the Texans got what they were asking for Watson despite the situation is still very much ongoing is incredible and Houston made out like bandits. So SO glad the Panthers didn’t trade for him. I just wish it was Atlanta dealing with this crap now. -

I thought right after he was traded he would be charged for something else. The ownership of the Texans is in the pockets of the prosecutors in Harris County for sure. Wait until he was traded, charge him with the real stuff. -
yea I think it's a huge price to pay for a guy who benefitted from a great scheme and QB. He's a fast WR for sure, one of the fastest ever. But that's a huge price to pay for a 28yo WR with a checkered past.

Wow that's a lot for him.
