  1. Just watching the Bruins play, bouncing back on the road against a very good Islanders team after going down 1-0 early. They have guys like Pastrnak and Marchand who are just lethal snipers. Big time goal scorers. The Hurricanes need a couple more elite scorers. With Ned up and coming and a pretty good defensive backline they could be competing next season with just one more elite scorer
  2. They should just be thankful this wasn’t a sweep and it was damn close to being one
  3. See ya next season Canes, I have flipped over to Netflix.
  4. I mean they lost this series last game when they gave up a 4-2 lead, I knew they were done and wouldn’t score another goal after that. Like I said good season, but got wrecked by Tampa.
  5. Damn that close to being down 0-2. These boys need to nut up for the final period
  6. Yea they should be able to go after a few big time scorers. I look at the Lightning and Bruins top lines and the Hurricanes need to add more elite scoring talent. If they can bolster the top line, and Ned continues to grow, they’ll have a very competitive team next season. Sucks the season had to end this way, not even winning a game at home against the Lightning. But I’m hopeful about next season.
  7. Eh it was a good season. Ran into a Tampa juggernaut that skirted some cap rules. Hope they can retool and add some more offensive firepower this offseason to compete with the top teams in the East. The Canes still lag behind the top teams but they’re getting there.
  8. He's not building a dome but will he built a retractable roof stadium? Survey says definitely.
  9. Colbert was actually legit in 2004, he sucked after that. I always wondered if he got injured and it was never disclosed or something. And let’s not forget how lethal Panthers legend Nick Goings was in 2004. How many 100 yard games did he have in a row? I grabbed that dude on my FF team and he was fire for me. All great help for Delhomme that season.
  10. Let’s be real. Jake wasn’t a good QB. Jake was an average QB who had a great supporting cast around him. But what Jake had in spades was moxie and the ability to make clutch throws. If the game was on the line, Jake was gonna make it happen for you. That’s where he was great. He benefited greatly from having prime Steve Smith, veteran Mushin Muhammad, and maybe the most clutch WR ever in Ricky Proehl. As his WR corp declined, so did he. He had a roided up O-Line the year they went to the Super Bowl. And probably a better O-Line in general every season he played than Cam Newton ever had. And let’s not forget how potent the running game was at times to support him. I loved watching Jake play. He was a great dude and it was easy rooting for him. But I’m not looking back and saying he was a good QB. He was a guy who could do just enough to win you a game if the team around him was good enough.
  11. And I mean Henning’s strategy was “run the ball and throw the ball to Steve Smith”
  12. Panthers are closer than you think. 0-8 record in one score games in 2020. That will certainly change in 2021. Defense will be better. Half those games go the Panthers way, the Panthers are 9-7 and a playoff team just last year.
  13. https://theathletic.com/2635775/2021/06/07/sam-darnold-film-analysis-his-problems-and-strengths-what-the-panthers-are-getting-in-their-qb/?redirected=1 Great writeup with some film analysis of Sam Darnold and his struggles/successes on the Jets last year. Writer placed a lot of blame on Gase, a bad offensive line, and the worst WR corp in the league.
  14. Darnold should be further along from 3 years of NFL experience vs a rookie Fields. I'm not sure they expected him to be there at 8 though.
  15. I think they didn't keep a backup plan on the roster for a reason. They must like next years prospects better than Justin Fields if that was the case
  16. Will Darnold look better than he did last season? 100% absolutely I guarantee it. Better coaching, better scheme, better playmakers, better culture, better everything. Will Darnold perform better than Teddy Bridgewater? That's a tough thing to predict. Bridgewater played well at times but mainly failed in the red zone and at the end of games. If Darnold can perform around the same as Bridgewater but deliver more success in critical situations, the Panthers could be a playoff team. He could also be a colossal failure if his psyche is broken and the Jets truly ruined him.
  17. At this rate there may be almost no one left from the Richardson era in a year or two
  18. Brindamour deserves at least another season. He’s an absolute moron for not pulling Mrazek in this game. The dumbest. But the team has been competitive. The main thing they need is some veterans to bolster the roster. A Cory Perry type signing would have been great this season. If they wanna make a run, sign a few been there done that vets to guide the young guys and steer the ship when things get tough in the playoffs. They don’t have that right now.
  19. Haha yea there aren’t guys like Paul Coffey or Al MacInnis anymore
  20. Eh maybe, if they stay out of the box. Tampa is so deadly on the PP I just can’t see them winning another game.
  21. Even the diehard optimists have to see this series is as good as over unless the lightning bench their top line for 3 games and Mrazek is cut from the roster
  22. The entire team played like hot garbage for 50 out of 60 minutes in this game. No way they win another game in this series. They’re not a bad team but they completely folded against the Lightning and had no answer for their attack and power play.
  23. Can’t even hold the zone with an extra attacker. They are awful.
  24. This is hard to watch. They look completely gutted. I don’t even think they’ve gotten a shot on goal since they gave up the 6th goal to Tampa
