  1. Unlike the Panthers potentially making the playoffs until Sunday…THIS is something I WILL NOT get my hopes up for.
  2. I mean the list of unsuccessful’s is longer always, in anything competitive ever.
  3. He’s flashed enough that I’m fine with him. Since he’s flashed, being patient and developing him makes sense. Dude was doghoused by Rhule for unknown reasons throughout his career so far.
  4. Yesterday was rough. But as a whole, he’s taken a team that wasn’t “his” from the beginning of the football year, and taken them from poo to average. He’s done something to uplift multiple guys, including McAdoo, who’s offense looked abysmal half way through the season. I’d be completely comfortable giving him a 2-3 year deal, which in reality means 1 year to see what he can show. If the team doesn’t get better, or build upon this year, then part ways. I don’t know the behind the scenes, but Holcomb doesn’t seem like the killer DC we need. That’s my main concern. Wilks seems tied to him fundamentally. Would he be able to let him go if things don’t improve? McAdoo may have saved his job, but would Wilks look to upgrade from him too? Basically my main concern is the coordinators he is or will tie himself too. That makes or breaks many a HC. I do think HC, as defined by OP, is indeed a managerial, delegation heavy, leadership role more than anything, and he seems good at it. The key is the people he’s delegating to. I’m not so confident in them.
  5. Good mindset. I’d add that obviously I don’t know you, but there are people who mean the world to you, and people who you are the world to as well. Pour into them every chance you get. Happy new year to you and yours @hepcat.
  6. I’ve been an avid supporter. He’s proving me wrong. I don’t care if you got beat because of learnable things. Dude gave up today. It ended the season. I won’t defend a quitter.
  7. Interesting. So if we choke, it’s because we took it too seriously. If we beat their ass, they should have took it more seriously. Hmmm
  8. No way in hell. Unless you love Fields/Chicago. That’s who will benefit.
  9. Well Matt Rhule said anything that didn’t work out his hands where tied it was Fitt he didn’t know he didn’t have seven years he wanted to do good things but was vetoed by bad things nothing is his fault. And I have every reason to believe his words. Therefore Corral is a Fitt guy. Unless he balls out next year then he was a Rhule guy from the start.
  10. And I agree with an equal amount of great extent with this! It’s tough to be patient as a fan. In the end all we see (for the most part) is Sundays. But these are basically kids physically and mentally adapting to the pros. Not everyone is a Cam. It takes time.
  11. Willis might fail. Chances are more likely that he will fail (which means not being a long term starter) than making it. Same goes for Corral, who I’m documented as liking a lot. That’s just the way it is. Most guys don’t make it as capable long term starters. But it’s too early for Willis who was clearly a raw athlete. And it’s even earlier for Corral who played less than a game of preseason. You can take the route of calling every rookie QB terrible, and statistically you will be correct more often, but it won’t be from any special insight or evaluation ability, but rather just probability. It’s just way too fuging early. Gotta have some patience.
  12. That’s adding another variable but I’ll play. You can only play who you play. Seattle was a winning team. Lions were one of the hottest teams in the league going 6-1 against quality before our game. I understand people feeling how you do, but I don’t give it much weight. This is the NFL. Every game is against pros. It’s not like Saban beating up Florida A&M Technical Community College.
  13. If we win the next two games, Wilks would be 7-5. Or do you disagree with this approach?
  14. Anecdotally, I run into waaaaaaay too many cowboys fans here. There would be a tremendous amount of navy blue and silver bullshit in BOA. Maybe not Steelers bad…but maybe part of the Steelers is how offensively yellow they are. There would be roaring every time Dak makes a play.
  15. It’s possible. When I compare my mental maturity in my early 20’s to mid 20’s…big difference.
  16. Long thread so I’m sure I missed some of those. I get your response to those claims for sure.
  17. Let’s be fair though Jimmy. I don’t think anyone is saying “Josh Allen” stuff (if they are just don’t respond lol). Sam however, is performing damn near perfectly in the role he currently has. Similar to how the 49ers QB’s manage the game. Make the occasional key throw. Don’t fug it up. If we have to solely rely on Sam to comeback and win a game throwing it around the yard, I don’t expect success, but then again, those QB’s are rare as it is. If we make the playoffs, we might find out if Sam has matured (it’s possible) and is legit. He would have to make more plays with his arm (I assume) at that level.
  18. I’m impressed by his physical attributes. I’m not impressed by the way he footballs. I’ll dive into more of his film come draft time. Maybe I’m missing something.
  19. A kicker can be clutch but lose games by missing kicks in none clutch situations. Eddy P is converting over 90% and I’m grateful to have him. He’s contributed to wins, but hasn’t had a sexy game winning walk off kick, and when he had the chance he blew it (twice). He had a bad game, but the total body of work is great as a whole.
  20. I don’t disagree with this. I think most of it is the way each of us rates the job Wilks has done. Some lean more to great (probably where I’m at outside of a collapse the last two games), and some lean more to good or average. Fox and Rivera had great moments but you have to know when to move on when things get stale.
