  1. Yes but they could beat this well resourced Frank Reich team that is 0-5 when you include preseason. Steve Wilks has never been given resources, and you can argue he has never been given a fair shot. Wilks would have had this team putting up a better showing. Wilks team last year would have beat this squad at almost a 90% clip. This team lacks an identity. If your response is Wilks team wasn’t good then this poo here that Tepper and Fitts put resources behind is an abomination. The play calling was better last year with Darnold and that speaks loud and clear about Reich and his offense so far.
  2. Nah I have to say I disagree. Ownership and the front office really believed they were close. The Panthers underestimated the job Wilkes did with Matt Rhules leftovers. Tepper and Fitterer felt if Wilkes could go 6-6 with Baker, PJ Walker and Darnold, without a training camp, or his own personnel, then a competent rookie could potentially make us even more competitive. Setting yourself up in the preseason to say you’re really close to being competitive isn’t a smart move unless you truly believe it. Tepper and Fitterer dropped the ball by letting Wilkes go. Despite Wilkes stubborn mistakes against Tampa, he did an exemplary job, considering the circumstances he inherited.
  3. Yep great post. It amazes me how no one acknowledges how Wilkes gave us an identity as a tough nose bust you in the mouth team. Yet he we are half a year later and we can’t stop the run and our offense looks abysmal. Sadly so many of us thought the grass was greener on the other side, but I can tell you this patch of poop ain’t it.
  4. Latest reports are saying he is expected to play, which I am thankful for. This is going to come back to bite us in the butt. I may be in the minority here but Burns has played out of position his entire career here and excelled. At edge he’s gonna put up monster numbers. If he gets to 17 sacks and challenges for the sack lead this year Burns is going to want Bosa + money not 28 million a year. I don’t see why Burns wouldn’t be able to flirt with 17 sacks playing his natural position while Houston and Barno line up on the opposite side. His initial burst is unreal.
  5. Not with that pending lawsuit. Teams are staying away.
  6. 300 million in profits based on your life story and you haven’t received a red cent from the movie profits? I don’t know if this is true, we will see, but anyone in the Huddle that says they wouldn’t potentially sue from that arrangement is not being truthful.
  7. We shall see. I believe he doesn’t have any guaranteed money after year 2 so hopefully he comes out balling and makes it look like a contract steal.
  8. Agreed, the only argument Burns camp can make is that Burns has been playing out of position his entire career and made it work. He should really thrive in the TJ Watt role due to the complete 3-4 switch.
  9. He had 14.5 sacks last year. I’m sure his value will be discussed in Burns contractual discussions.
  10. O well…. He may as well take the “L” on this one lol Thats definitely trashing the competition
  11. Good points in this thread. Money brings the monster out of a man. Money doesn’t change your mindset if it’s not already focused on making a difference.
  12. Bro I tried to poke holes in your post because I hate the Saints but I legitimately couldn’t. Very informative and legit. I don’t want the Panthers following that formula but I can see how it’s worked for so long while providing quality players.
  13. I was just think about this yesterday. Rhule was like the girl we all dated and asked ourselves WHY afterwards ???? We lost our swag our identity our moxy our desire to like football Dumbest head coach hire in Panther history.
  14. He caught 50 passes in 2019 as a rookie. That’s why the Panthers signed him instead of Foreman. To Miles Sanders own admission he hasn’t been catching quite that many lately but he says he expects more than the 25-30 passes per season he caught in Philly. He was interviewed on Panthers.com and talked about pass catching and the style of offense we will run. It’s pretty good. Give it a listen.
  15. If we get Chandler Zavala I would consider this draft a big success. Hopefully a corner thereafter.
  16. You missed my point. Based on your post with a 3rd round success rate being about 35% why trade up for a player and loose resources. We could have gotten him at 93 and picked up another possible boom or bust in the 4th round our defense could use. I don’t hate the pick and I hope we get lucky. I dislike the loss of resources (loss of 4th).
  17. A better defensive end/ edge (Byron Young) went to the Rams 2 to 3 picks before us. It’s possible our front office wanted Young and had to settle for Johnson. Trade ups take time to be approved. Every analyst and expert questioned this pick. If you honestly watch his highlights you can clearly see he is a project. Questioning the pick is very realistic. He has good measurables so I hope most of the experts are incorrect but there were better picks available. Plus we lost our 4th for this young man while having holes on the roster. I have no idea why you don’t see that as a problem.
  18. Blind trust will get you burned. This guy would have been available at 93 in every multiverse and 100 draft simulations yet we lost a draft pick for him.
  19. Ojulari the edge player or Avila from TCU. We need a premium guard until Corbet comes back then you can move BC to swing tackle . Brady played great at guard but Avila would create running lanes and protection from huge interior defensive tackles.
  20. He literally speaks directly to the CJ Stroud leaked score without saying his name and says it’s baloney. We are getting Bryce and I’m happy about that but the efforts to try to wish failure on a young man or laugh at the phony scores out there are beneath us. We are fighting internally amongst ourselves over guys that wish us no harm. They only want to live out their dreams as pro athletes. I hope Bryce turns out to be the best of the bunch by leaps and bounds but I wish the other QB prospects successful careers. Well…..okay careers if they end up in the NFC South.
  21. I’m glad we didn’t trade with Arizona at 3. You think it’s been an insane mad house lately. Imagine we secured the pick at 3 with the question marks and drop off in quarterback intangibles. Excuse my use of the phrase but the huddle would have gone absolutely Ape$h#t !!
  22. It’s a percentile test. If the score is true it means 18 % of all football players that have taken the test has scored lower than him while 72% have scored higher. Cognitive test aren’t graded like a grade school test.
